DESIGN PROCESS Design Concept: Can use shift over time?
Site:
The building site presents the opportunity to integrate a residential project that can share the ground plane with two local business that are community centric. By minimizing ground plane coverage and elevating the living units, the project can shape a communal courtyard which can shift its program to meet the needs of the residents and the surrounding community.

In an effort to further create communal cohesion, within the development itself, a modular unit system was designed to provide living space that accommodates people of all ages. To encourage interaction these modules were stacked in an orientation which allows for shared communal space to be placed at each

STRUCTURAL SYSTEM Barrio Logan lacks modern, low-cost, living opportunities. This development was an experiment to see if it is possible to construct a low-cost housing without compromising on design or quality. To achieve this modern steel frame fabrication technology was utilized to allow for efficient and cheap constriction.

DESIGN PROCESS The prompt for this assignment was to design a dream apartment for yourself. The apartment will be placed in the Sierra Towers luxury apartment complex in West Hollywood. The only requirement for the project was that it must fit within 2 existing units. To create an ideal personal living space this remodel was shaped around 3 principals which shaped the interior layout.
1-
Clear division between shared space and private space
2-
Provision of a large open area that can be adapted for gatherings.
3-
Seclusion of work and entertainment space to minimize distractions and maximize productivity.

ASSIGNMENT PROMPT
CONCEPT SKETCHES
The campus of Orange Coast College was previously home to the Santa Ana Air Base which was used as a training facility for World War II pilots. One battalion that operated out of the base was the Woman Air Force Service Pilots (WASP), this group of women were part of the first ever group of female pilots. The focus of this assignment is to design a gallery and heritage center that is dedicated to this group of female pilots. The architecture of Orange Coast College has traditionally embraced its history as an air base, this gallery will be the latest building on campus to embrace the sites history.

PROJECT PROMPT
PLAN
C.R.A.F.T was hired to design and fabricate a VIP table for the Treehouse Rooftop Bar and Club in Los Angeles. For this project we sought to make a ‘nest’ which would enclose a small VIP group while still providing enough porosity to bring the surrounding environment in. To generate the form for this project Grasshopper was used so we could provide the client with multiple iterations which could be scaled up or down to accommodate different group sizes. The final project utilized CNC milled veneer plywood pieces which could be flat packed and assembled on site.
