Daje Forte Project Type_Urban transformation Phase_Call for entries Location_Rome, Italy Year_2015 Role_Team Leader
The Portuense Fort, the subject of the project, gets freed from illegally constructed buildings so that it can become a park. Below it, in underground areas illuminated by circular courtyards, requested services are then realized following relocation due to the demolition work. The internal area of the Fort, subject to a building restriction, is transformed to host artisan activities and study spaces all overlooking the internal court; an ancient Place-of-arms.

New York Urban Farm Project Type_Multi-functional Residential + Urban Farm Phase_Call for entries Location_New York Year_2015 Role_Team Leader
The production of food in urban areas is a very current topic in the debate about the city, and the call for entries specified the design of a multifunctional building, capable of hosting an urban farm on a piece of land adjacent to the New York High Line. Through greenhouse cultivation, the continuous recycling of resources and the integration of renewable energy technologies, the project was given the form of a “neutral modular structure, adaptable to various contexts and capable of hosting diffrent agricultural activities that requires structures similar to laboratories, but also residential and commercial.

The workshop, promoted by the former city administration under mayor Marino, together with Inarch and ACER, aimed to upgrade some of the degraded areas of the city through a joint public and private effort. One of the interventions focused on the “Marconi metro station, ideally destined to become a park-and-ride transport hub. In the proposal from 2tr Studio, abandoned space would be reclaimed in front of the station, where ground level car parks would be created, on top of a level of covered car parking. On the top level, on a newly created square, new buildings would be created in order to finance the project, being valued highly for their location close to the river Tiber.
Re-(ho)using San Lorenzo Project Type_Residential + Services Year_2014 Location_Rome,Italy Degree Thesis
The project involves the reclamation of some urban spaces in the San Lorenzo district of Rome, containing buildings hit by the bombing of Rome in 1943. They were not rebuilt due to stability and property fragmentation issues. The area is now subjected to conflicts surrounding the public space wich is increasingly vulnerable to private interests. The project aims at mediating between private and public through the use of the “building compensation, an urban planning tool that allows the construction of new volumes in return for the implementation of some services for the community at the sole expense of the private sector. The first building reinterprets a style that is typical of the neighborhood, implementing a raised courtyard inside with an opening on the south corner that favours the light entrance and the ventilation. On the north facade, a surviving wall of the old building supporting the adjacent one is kept as the only evidence of the old bombed building is kept to honour the historical memory of the bombardment. The other two buildings are instead destined for neighborhood services with a Co-working area, senior citizens centre and a time bank.

Skyscraper project in Manhattan on a plot crossed by the Highline and overlooking the Hudson River. The building takes the form of a raised volume placed above the Highline and ideally separated into two parts, connected by “bridges” hosting conference rooms, restaurants and roof gardens. Lifting the structure allows the creation of a square with a double slope, adhering to the High Line, from which it is possible to look out over the river.

The site is crossed by the High Line and close to the river Hudson.
By raising the volume, a square is created to serve the High Line, creating extra space and allowing the view of the river.
The cut of the volume, in addition to highlighting the passage of the High Line, allows better natural lighting of interior spaces and opens up new visuals.
The two structures are linked by bridges hosting restaurants, conference rooms and terraces with roof gardens. The sloping square allows for views over both the High Line and the Hudson River.
Per via di levare Project type_Urban space Phase_Call for entries Year_2014 Studio Zevi + APsT Role_Junior Architect Location_Nardò, Puglia
Design competition for the renovation of Piazza S.Antonio and main neighbouring streets in Nardò, Puglia. The project reclaims the space in front of the baroque church, currently used for parking, creating a sloping square that connects to the entry level of the museum and echos the form of the ancient convent. The fountain is relocated and a lighting system with a strong figurative impact is introduced.
Villa Blanc Project type_University building Anno_2014 Studio Zevi Role_Architect
A proposal from Studio Zevi for the renovation of one of the internal buildings at Villa Blanc. Because of the advanced deterioration of the ancient building, the aim is to consolidate the surviving part and to rebuild the collapsed part with a contemporary feel, adding the impression of the fixtures and facades from the destroyed part.

JE (ne) SUIS (pas) CHARLIE Project type_Installation Year_2015
Made following the tragic events of Charlie Hebdo, the work appears as a bathroom cabinet covered in newspaper pages from that day. There is a rip into the pages that allow the observer to make eye contact with his own reflection, surrounded by the writing “Je suis Charlie Hebdo” that was pretty much everywhere in the days after. However, opening the side door reveals the phrase in its entirety: “Je ne suis pas Charlie”. On the inside of the opened door, now visible, the World Press Freedom Index appears, highlighting the weaknesses of Italian democracy.

Swings Project type_Installation Year_2016
Interactive installation for an evening of electronic music in the Rampa Prenestina spaces. The inner courtyard, crushed by the looming spiral of massive concrete walls, houses huge swings that oppose the heaviness with the lightness of the game. The seats, painted with fluorescent paint, design bright commas on which people swing, hanging on the only slice of visible sky.
Mamma Roma ADDIO Project Type_Installation Anno_2016
A square meter of cobbles in which an elementary school chair is set. At its base rolls a sponge football. They are fragments of childhood, which is countered by the audio text that is heard in the headphones, in which Remo Remotti tells us about when he left Rome. The increasingly violent crescendo of disparaging adjectives represents the push to abandon the nest, the roots, the most beloved place.
