June 20 – 29, 2014 The Greek islands are known for their extreme beauty with the many white buildings set against the deep blue Mediterranean Sea. The pictures are truly worth a million words. One can only truly experience this beauty by seeing it for yourself. We begin our Aegean journey in Naxos, famous for it’s white sand beaches, crystal clear waters and mountain landscapes. Next we head to Santorini the island ranked as the number one island in Europe by Conde’ Nast magazine. When you think of Greece and see the photos you are visioning Santorini. The sunsets alone are famous in their own right for the amazing colors and serene beauty of yet another wonderful day turning into a fabulous night. Santorini also boast vineyards to tour and the extreme topography of one side of the island being flat with wonderful beaches including a black sand beach. The other side of the island is the caldera side with its high cliffs and breathtaking views of the sea.


We complete our island tour with a visit to the island of Crete enjoying a stay in the beautiful Venetian Harbour town of Chania. Crete is also famous for the Palace of Knosos which we will tour and learn of it’s amazing history. This trip is guaranteed to be an unbelievable tour to Greece, keep reading for more great information and how to book your trip now! Air Note: You need to arrive in Athens on June 21st, 2014. There is a connecting flight that departs Athens at 2:00pm you will need to be on. Itinerary: Day 1 – Depart for your overnight flight to Athens, Greece (ATH) Day 2 – Arrive into Athens and then meet your tour leader at the airport. We will be taking a connecting flight to the island of Naxos which departs Athens at 2:00pm. Arrive into Naxos and transfer to our hotel on the beach. Welcome dinner tonight to meet your fellow travelers and go over the week’s itinerary. Galaxy beach front hotel for 2 nights (D) Day 3 – Today we enjoy a full day tour of Naxos taking in all the sites and beauty of this wonderful island. We will visit the villages of Appolonas and Apiranthos, Kastro Castle and so much more. The remainder of the day is at leisure to visit Naxos town or relax at the beach. The evening is at leisure. You may choose to visit the local open air movie theatre for a traditional night out on the island. This is a very fun evening activity. (B, L) Day 4 – Morning at leisure and then after lunch we will transfer to the island of Santorini via the fast ferry. The whitewashed buildings set into the Cliffside are a spectacular site to see. The maze like feel of getting around on the coble stone streets provide a view and surprise around every corner. After checking into our hotel you will enjoy a brief tour of the town and get the layout of the area to then enjoy on your own. The remainder of day is at your leisure to explore some more or relax at the hotel. Tonight we will enjoy dinner at a local restaurant overlooking the sunset of the Aegean sea. Aroma suites Hotel on the Caldera for 3 nights (B,D) Day 5 – Today we are treated to a wonderful tour of the island. We will head to the opposite side of the island to see the beautiful beaches, explore the many quaint villages along the way and best of all a special visit to a unique winery along the way. Remainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy the beach, hotel pool or maybe rent a 4×4 vehicle for some fun island exploring. For those who are interested we will head to the town of Oia to explore this quaint and boutique town. Dinner at leisure tonight in Oia. (B,L) Day 6 -Morning at leisure and then we set sail on a wonderful boat tour past the beautiful beaches of Santorini as well as the various other sites most easily viewed from a boat. The tour starts from the south side of Santorini. We sail to the White & Red beaches, past the Venetian lighthouse and into the crater, where we visit the Hot Springs and our own Private Beach where you can enjoy the facilities and the breathtaking view. We also visit another private bay for more swimming and snorkeling. We make stops to the surrounding islands and enjoy time for swimming and a wonderful Greek style


lunch at a private beach. Our day ends with a spectacular view of the sunset over the water from our boat. (B,L)

Day 7 - Your last day in Santorini is enjoyed at your leisure to finish your shopping, maybe enjoy a spa treatment, the pool or whatever your heart desires. Late afternoon we head to the island of Crete via the fast ferry. Upon arrival we transfer to our hotel in the city of Heraklion. Lato Boutique Hotel for 1 night. (B,D) Day 8 – This morning we will visit the Heraklion Archaeological Museum. We then enjoy a full days tour of the area. We will first visit the archeological site of the Konossos palace of the legendary King Minos and ancient Minos culture. We will continue our tour on the way to the wonderful town of Chania (Hania). Famous for it’s Venetian Harbor and small winding streets. This town is filled with old churches, museums and wonderful cafes. Tour highlights include a visit the quaint town of Rythimnon and Giorgioupolis then onto to some other very quaint and scenic villages along the way. We will visit a local winery or Olive oil plant along the way. Various other stops to see the area and time for photos along the way. The evening is at your leisure. Port Veneziano hotel on the water for 2 nights (B,L) The Old Town of Chania is built on the remains of the minoan Kydonia and comprise of many historic districts. People with different cultures and morals lived in Chania creating a unique atmosphere. Right across the town’s entrance you will see the magnificent Venetian Lighthouse, which was built during the 16th century. The archaeological findings reveal that the region was constantly inhabited since the Neolithic Age and was an important town during the Minoan, Byzantine and Roman period. Especially during the Roman period Chania was an important financial and cultural center. But then the Turks came and everything changed. After the liberation of the town from the Turks, Chania along with the rest of Crete, united with the Greek State. Day 9 – Our last on Crete and in Greece will be spent first enjoying a guided walk of Chania town viewing the Venetian town of Chania and it’s old buildings offering a unique Venetian history of the island. Visit the local market for authentic shopping of olive oils and honey grown and harvested on the island. Many other wonderful shops offer great deals on local crafts and goodies to bring home. Later today we are treated to a very special Cretan cooking class where we will learn the traditional ways of making some of the fabulous food we have been eating all week. All dishes are made of genuine, pure Cretan products such as olive oil, vegetables, cheese, meat, wine, etc. and of course all the ingredients are fresh and local. In addition, useful information about the herbs, olive oil and other ingredients used is given together with explanations about their nutritional value and ways of usage. We will then dine on our creation. This evening we enjoy a farewell dinner to say goodbye to Greece and our new friends. (B, D) Day 10- Departure day. You will transfer via air this morning to Athens for your connecting flight home. Departure times from Chania are at 6:45am and 9:25am. Please consult with us regarding the best option on your return flight. (B)
