The Key To Choosing Your Home Interior While you want your home to look presentable for guests, you also want it to look presentable for you – the homeowner. You want to be able to wake up every morning and be happy walking into your home, and being proud of yourself for not just throwing furniture in that simply just “matched,” because you put in the effort to make your home everything you’ve wanted.
There are many things to consider when redesigning the interior of your home, which can sometimes cause stress if you want to host guests.
So, here is a list of some things to consider when wanting to enhance the interior of your home,
Picking YOUR Direction… This is the first step in getting your brain to start picturing your new interior design. You need to pick a theme – it’s the most obvious and crucial step. If the interior does not match – from furniture to window treatments – then you will not be happy with the investment. There are three popular directions to go in that can be a final choice, or will at least give you some spin-off ideas:
The Beach Theme – Neutral colors [best in homes with a lot of sunlight]
Victorian – Deep and defined colors, i.e. deep reds and browns [does not fit best with modern homes]
Retro / Urban – Patterns and brighter colors [fits best with modern structured homes]
When choosing your theme, make sure that is something you are willing to look at every day for at least a few years. You want to make sure that your window treatments, whether drapes or shutters, also match up with your furniture [tables, couches, etc.] Once you pick your theme – that is when the entire picture starts to create itself in your mind.
