They possess the knowledge and clinical skills that are necessary in providing care for those with a physical disability or chronic illness. ● They provide handson rehabilitation which helps provide direction and of course, supervision. ● They will build oral and written communication skills to adapt to each of their individual patients. Now, with those responsibilities, rehabilitation nurses essentially serve as teachers and caregivers. It is crucial that when looking for a rehabilitation center that they provide your family with everything required to carry on with treatment outside of the center. In terms of being a caregiver, it is their obligation to make their patient feel comfortable and confident with themselves and the progress they are making. Serving as a clinical advocate, a proper rehabilitation nurse will display excellent communication skills – and if they do have excellent skills, then all your questions should be answered. Sometimes when your loved one’s grow older, taking care of them becomes an unfortunate burden, but there are plenty of caregivers out there that want them to return to the best version of themselves they can be, just as you do.
