May 24-31, 2014 Join us for an amazing tour along the breathtaking coast of Amalfi, Italy. Known as one of the most beautiful places in the world we will tour the coastal towns and enjoy scenic coastal views as we travel along the coast line. Enjoy fabulous views from your hotel set in the cliff side and dine on the hills overlooking the gorgeous blue mediterranean sea. We will also enjoy a visit to the island of Capri and be treated to a boat tour around the island hich offers some absolutely breathtaking sites of the rock formations and crytsl clear waters. To top off our South Italy tour we head to the island of Ischia famous for its spas and thermal waters.

Itinerary: Day 1 – Arrive at Naples International Airport (NAP), and transfer to Sorrento. When you arrive in Sorrento, relax or wander the charming streets of this small town, nestled on the Bay of Naples. This evening, join us for our welcome dinner at Ristorante Tasso and savor delicious regional cuisine. Hotel Capodimonte for 7 nights (D) Day 2 – After breakfast take a full-day excursion along the Amalfi Coast, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its cultural and natural scenic values. It can best be described as a dreamy vision of lemon tree gardens and steep cliffs. Wait till you see the football-size lemons! Discover Positano, Ravello and Amalfi, featured in many films and home to composers, writers and royalty. In Ravello, take-in the splendor of the garden at Villa Rufolo, which famously inspired Richard Wagner’s opera Parsifal. In Positano, explore galleries and boutiques before enjoying lunch on an arbor-covered terrace. The paella and homemade pasta at Il Ritrovo, or fresh seafood and wood-fired pizza at Lo Guarracino are both winners. Our last stop is Amalfi, the largest town on La Costiera Amalfitana. Visit the spectacular ArabSicilian cathedral and walk the souk-like streets. Sample exquisite chocolate-dipped orange confit, the perfect complement to espresso or homemade gelato. After a very full day, spend the evening at your leisure. (B, L) Day 3- After breakfast, enjoy the day and our hotel’s amenities. The city train tour (optional $) is a good way to discover all of Sorrento’s hidden treasures, including its many unique boutiques, and lively outdoor cafés and trattorias. Your Tour Director can arrange a gelato-making course at David Gelateria, arguably the best in Southern Italy. She also has many fabulous dinner options to offer. (B, gelato) Day 4 – After breakfast, head to the Port of Sorrento for a short ferry ride to the Isle of Capri. This is the ideal time to discover the island, since the weather is perfect and the crowds few. When you arrive, board a charter to experience the Grotta Azzurra and admire the picturesque coastline. At your leisure, stroll the scenic pathways, and visit some of the beautifully restored ancient villas and their gardens. You will have ample time to shop at the finest boutiques and savor the vibe in the Piazzetta, one of the most glamorous city squares in Europe. (B) Day 5 -After breakfast, immerse yourself in a favorite activity of all past travelers: a cooking class at the Sorrento Cooking School. During our private lesson, make a complete southern Italian feast, under the expert guidance of fine Chefs. The ingredients and recipes are simple, but the results will amaze you. Savor the wines that best accompany your masterpiece. Later, join your Tour Director for a hike to a neighboring beach, or explore on your own, as you prefer. (B, L) Day 6 – After breakfast, depart for our full-day tour to Pompeii. Our English-speaking guide will explain the history, and recreate life the morning of august 24th, AD 79. Ancient Pompeii, known as the tomb of civilization, is one of the world’s most famous excavation projects ever undertaken. The murals, baths, brothels, amphitheater and remaining structures tell a captivating story. Have lunch at a fine family-run
pizzeria that serves the best Napoli pizza. Even if you prefer the pizza you’ve had in Rome, or the one you made at the Sorrento Cooking School, keep it a secret! (B, L)
Day 7 – Have a leisurely breakfast and spend today at your leisure. Weather permitting, your Tour Director will rent a zodiac to explore the nearby beaches and fishing villages. This optional excursion($) is a favorite of past travelers who love the water. This evening, share a farewell dinner with your fellow travelers. Join us at Ristorante Di Leva Le 5 Sorelle, down by the old fishing Port of Sorento, where the five sisters running this small eatery still use Mama’s recipes and the freshest of ingredients. (B, D) Day 8 -After breakfast, head to Rome International Airport (FCO). For those wishing to fly out of Naples, arrangements can be made at an additional cost and will need to be confirmed. May 22-24,2014 Itinerary DAY 1 – Thursday, May 22nd. Arrive at Rome International Airport (FCO) and transfer to your hotel overlooking the Pantheon and walking distance to many of Rome’s best attractions, including the Vatican and Piazza Navona. Toast your arrival, and meet your fellow single travelers at a charming wine bar like Il Pentagrappolo. Enjoy a delicious dinner at a local trattoria. You will surely be enchanted by an evening stroll to admire the illuminated Coliseum. Hotel Albergo Del Senato for 2 nights.(Welcome reception) DAY 2 – Friday, May 23rd. After an elegant breakfast at your hotel, let yourself be awed during a private guided tour of the Vatican, its museums and the Sistine Chapel. This afternoon, enjoy your leisure time to shop, museum hop or relax at one of Rome’s famous palazzos, while sipping espresso or wine and people-watching. DAY 3 – Saturday, May 24th. After breakfast, explore more of the city, or stroll Via dei Condotti, the Spanish Steps or Villa Borghese gardens.
