I am currently undertaking my Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture at Leeds Met University. This blog is an account of my final year thesis and design project. The subject of which is a School/Research centre for Autism, located in Sheffield. It is envisaged that the centre will be part of Sheffield Hallam University. Autism is a disorder of neural development that is characterized by impaired social interaction and communication, and by restricted and repetitive behavior. This study looks at the relationship between Autistic children and there environment. Is it possible for a building to be designed around autistic characteristics in order to to improve the learning environment of the children who are taught there?
