Unplug The Matrix, Change The Frequency

“You are a slave, Neo. Like everyone else you were born into bondage. Into a prison that you cannot taste or see or touch. A prison for your mind.” These are the words of Morpheus from the movie The Matrix. It seems this metaphor has passed into the collective consciousness – that there is a world of unseen forces shaping our thoughts, spying on us, controlling our world, even our dreams. Who are the ones controlling? How do these forces influence our lives? How does the system pass from generation to generation? If we don’t see it, how can we get free from it – grinding poverty amidst dazzling riches, killing the earth, squandering resources, perpetual war? The elites write the laws, build the armies, design educational systems, and distract us to death with reality TV, sports mania, shock and awe, all in HD. Doris Lessing explored the matrix theme in Prisons We Choose to Live Inside. She saw that every age has mass emotions and social conditions “from which it is almost impossible to detach ourselves.” Within a few years, she said, we look back and wonder, “How could they have believed that?” What will our children and grandchildren
ask? “Mom, wasn’t it obvious that all the pesticides were killing the soil?” “Dad, what were you doing when the icecaps were melting?” “Grandpa, didn’t people in your time know they were killing all life in the ocean?” Sorry kids, but we were watching Downton Abbey and Game of Thrones. Seventy years ago George Orwell looked ahead to 1984 and described a world of permanent war, omnipresent government surveillance, and mass manipulation under the control of an elite. He introduced the concepts of Big Brother, thoughtcrimes, Newspeak, the memory hole, and propaganda slogans like “Ignorance Is Strength.” Our current programs of enhanced interrogation techniques (i.e., torture), kill lists, and Total Information Awareness reify Orwell’s police state. Even as the Internet has been coopted to form part of the matrix of thought control and distraction, it has also given rise to a brazen and bold network exposing the dangers of living in the trance state. Though ‘privacy’ is a quaint concept from the past, there is a great deal that we can do to break free from the tyranny of deception. Just to see the web of misinformation is a critical first
step. It’s another effort altogether to unplug from the omnipresent web of fake news, distractions, enticements and seductions. We are fortunate to live close to nature and to have easy access to the ocean, mountains, trails and streams. Every day we have a chance to visit the world park we live in and refresh our senses. What a blessing. There are a great many ways to drop inside, to come back to source. People come from all over the world to experience the altered state of being in Hawaii. Meditation comes easily in such a magical world. Amazing teachers came to these islands years ago to share systems for clarifying consciousness. “Consciousness can only be developed consciously,” said Oscar Ichazo, and his system grew to benefit thousands of students seeking to get free from their conditioning. If everything is frequency, then one of the best ways to free ourselves is to change our frequency. Just as the matrix is a web of interconnecting dark frequencies, there is a quantum octave of positive energy that we can access if we make the effort. That effort can be attained with focused intent. By working with our will as a force, we can develop our ability to achieve far higher levels of physical vitality, mental clarity and spiritual awareness. While putting the final touches on this edition, I was amused by all the uproar in the sports world about “deflated footballs.” I smiled and wondered, why isn’t there a similar outcry over “deflated hearts”? There is so much negativity in the world that we can allow to defeat and overwhelm us. If we choose to pay attention to the horrible news that bombards us from all angles in the media, it is easy to lose the ability to feel anything at all! Our hearts often bear the brunt of a poor diet, lack of exercise, shallow breathing, grief, toxic emotions and a lack of spiritual connection, to name just a few factors. Taking time to stop, take a deep breath, tune in to our hearts, and feel love can help immensely – even for just five minutes. Take A Deep Breath
By Maurgana Stiastny The heart’s greatest expression is one of love and joy. The heart is where we feel our deepest love and our most profound passion. In Chinese medicine, the heart is the resident of the shen, or spirit. To house the spirit you need good blood, and breathing deeply nourishes the blood. Cardiovascular disease is an epidemic in our society. Poor diet, reduced physical activity, poor fat metabolism, metabolic changes, and many other disease processes can negatively affect the heart. Studies about cardiovascular disease do not usually mention the importance of the breath for a healthy heart. It has been found that people who have chronic heart disease are chronic upper chest breathers. So many of us hyperventilate with small, shallow breathing. Our industrial society leaves us in a state of chronic stress, which causes depressed breathing. When we experience fear, apprehension and anxiety, the front of the body contracts. This is also known as the red light reflex by some somatic therapists. When the muscles in our abdomen tighten, our diaphragms become rigid and our breathing becomes shallow. This has a profound effect on the heart because the heart and the lungs work synergistically. Low stress levels and deep diaphragmatic breathing benefit the heart in the following ways: 1) decreased heart rate; 2) decreased cardiac output; 3) reduced blood pressure; 4) relaxation of the nervous system, which favorably impacts the cardiovascular system; and 5) regulation of the heartbeat by the correct respiratory sinus flow. So be a sweetheart to yourself; relax your belly, relax your diaphragm, and take nice deep breaths. Do this many times a day. Learn To Love The Wounded Parts Of Ourselves By Liah Howard As a practicing psychic, I have come to understand that when our human spirit is dimmed by pain, either physical or emotional, our capacity to be present and happy in our lives is compromised. Physical pain, stress and worry can inhibit our ability to cope with life, causing us to be overly sensitive and irritable. We all carry a personal history of pain, loss, rejection and insecurity, which dwell in the deep recesses of our being. Feelings of past trauma and shock can be triggered by seemingly insignificant events. Others may not notice these frailties just by looking at us; they may not see that we carry feelings of shame and unworthiness. We often try to cover up these secrets of the heart with denial, addictions, anger and fear. The good news is, we can consciously learn to identify and override these old patterns and beliefs, and live a more genuine and purposeful life. We do this by developing compassion and tolerance for ourselves and others, and integrating and loving the wounded parts of ourselves so that we can be whole and free. Some days we experience the grace of peace and wellbeing. Our bodies feel great and the old tapes of sorrow are filed far, far away. We are loving and tolerant and operating at top capacity. Other days, painful memories of the past emerge and inhibit our ability to lovingly respond to those around us. Yet, because emotional wounding is invisible, others may not be able to see that we are feeling sensitive and insecure. Our families, friends and coworkers may not realize that what
we need most at these times – when we are being ‘unpleasant’ due to inner turmoil – is a gesture of compassion and understanding. This can come in the form of a gentle touch or a soft word. A loving act of compassion can interrupt the internal hell we are experiencing. Unlike obvious physical injuries, the secrets and pains of the heart are hidden, and they create an invisible wall that cuts us off from others. When we remember that we are not unique in our suffering and everyone has her or his own personal history of hurt, then we can be more accepting and loving towards ourselves and others.

How might we respond differently if we knew that the teller at the bank had been beaten by her drunk husband the night before, or the cashier at the grocery store has a child dying of cancer, or our grouchy neighbor is wracked with worry about paying his mortgage? Would we put our judgments aside and dig a little deeper to find love and acceptance, and be more kind and tolerant, even when the teller is mean or the cashier is spacey or the neighbor is cruel? This is the same compassion we long to receive from others when we are experiencing emotional pain. Every time we respond to another or ourselves with love, our soul shines more brightly through us. On the other hand, every time we react with harshness towards others or ourselves, we get disconnected from our soul’s light. Our spirits dwell in a place of peace and wellbeing, and it is our job to return home to our true essence. The guideposts are love and acceptance. When we put aside our own personal expectations of how we should be or how another should be, we find freedom. We enter into the world of our spirit, which is love.

How I Met Daddy Bray In 1967 By Sat Santokh In 1967, during the glorious “Summer of Love” in the Haight-Ashbury of San Francisco, the extended Digger community, also known as “the free families,” began having a series of meetings which ultimately led to the establishment of some of the early intentional communities of that era. At one meeting of around 200 people, someone announced that a community on Maui had invited us all to move there. It seemed unreal to me, so I said I would go check it out and report back to everyone. At that time I had begun relating to the Divine in the form of God of the sea. I used the Greek name “Poseidon.” Accordingly, before I left on this sacred journey, I went to the ocean, made an offering, and prayed for guidance. The few hippies then living in Hawaii received me as an ambassador from the mother community in the Haight-Ashbury. A group of us went to Maui and discovered that the people who had invited us to join them lived on about an acre – not exactly suitable for 200 people and our families. We returned to Honolulu. After some discussion, I said I wanted guidance from a representative of the elder people living on this land. Someone said they knew of a Kahuna living on the Big Island, so I flew to Hilo to meet him. Upon inquiry, I was told that Father Bray was thought to live on the Kona coast. I rented a car and drove to Kona, where a young Hawaiian woman gave me directions to “Daddy Bray’s” home. When I arrived, he was not there. I had also spoken on the phone to a man who said we could possibly use a portion of the land his Peace Corps camp was based on, but he would

only be there that day. Should I leave and drive another couple of hours, or wait to see the Kahuna? I went to the Ocean to pray for guidance. I made an offering and closed my eyes in meditation. When my eyes opened, I saw a very large man with a full beard and a raised tattoo of a lion head on his back. He carried a trident and a throw net. I asked him if he knew Daddy Bray and told him why I wanted to see him. He said Daddy Bray had gone to town and would be home soon; that I should wait there with him for a while. We did not talk much. I just watched him fish. After a while, he said Daddy Bray was on his way home and it was time for me to go. I arrived at the driveway at the exact same moment as Daddy Bray. We talked for six hours straight. Just before going to sleep, I asked him what I should do with my life.
He said, “Be a light.” I said, “What do you mean?” He said, “Be a radiant example of how to live on the planet.” His words I have never forgotten. Later, just before going to bed, I described the man I met on the beach. Daddy Bray said that he knew every Hawaiian and no one fit that description. “Then who was it?” I asked. “Obviously,” he said, “it was the God of the Sea, directing you to me.” Sat Santokh is a spiritual leader and renowned Kundalini Yoga teacher. Witnessing The Magic
By Suzän H. Proia Special days in our lives are worthy of awards, like hit movies. In the category of “Most Enchanting,” my vote goes to a unique day in the fall of 2005, during a trip down the California coast. I spent most of this memorable day with a friend, enjoying a pristine waterfall hidden from the highway. The rugged terrain and gentle gurgling of the water produced a feeling of protected privacy. While my friend went exploring, I captured the intense beauty by creating a watercolor painting using clear water from the stream. It was a perfect afternoon. Dusk descended quickly as night approached; the solitude was intoxicating. Unexpectedly, a spark of light caught my eye, then another split-second flicker appeared, barely visible in the fading sunlight. What was that? The dusky sky suddenly erupted with mini-flashes and the low light revealed baby spiders attached to their spinner silks. They were hitchhiking on soft breezes, sailing away to start a new life. The scene was surreal. It is a phenomenon of nature, the casting of spinner threads by spiders. Once caught in an updraft, the spider is lifted by its tether and floats away, sometimes landing hundreds of miles from where it began. To witness this is a bit of magic, as the conditions have to be perfect. Like an honored guest invited to sacred ceremony, I felt fortunate to have looked at exactly the right moment. How much magic do we miss in our daily lives? It is so easy to overlook the enchanted moments; please remember to pay heed. Nature rewards us when we value her gifts. Antahkarana: A Bridge To The Soul And Beyond

By William Meader Deep within the recesses of human consciousness there exists a gap that must be bridged. It is an inner space that separates the consciousness of the personality from that of the soul, and even beyond. Located upon the mental plane, this chasm must eventually be traversed, for enlightenment demands that this be so. At its distant shore is found the land of eternity, and in Hindu philosophy, the bridge leading to it is called the antahkarana. It must be realized that the antahkarana does not naturally exist. Instead, it is built through the crucible of human living, coupled with the integration of three spiritual disciplines into the fabric of one’s life. The first of these spiritual disciplines is heartfelt service. The soul is the ‘greater heart’ within us. Given this, the demonstration of soulful love in one’s outer life creates the threads of inner substance needed to initially bridge the

gap between the soul and the personality. In this way, a faint but enduring connection is established between lower and higher dimensions of human consciousness. The construction of this bridge to the soul is also facilitated through study and the development of the abstract mind. Because the soul is located on the higher mental plane, to think abstractly is to be in the neighborhood of the soul. As a result, the soul’s intuitive impressions can be mentally registered and rightly interpreted. In truth, this is one of the essential functions of the antahkarana. It acts as a communicative conduit for the soul to express its wisdom and benevolent guidance. Perhaps most importantly, the building of the antahkarana is facilitated when an individual adopts a meditative practice in his or her life. Every meditation has the potential to add substance to the antahkarana; the result of this can be seen in a meditator’s ability to create inner alignment with the soul, and this with less and less distraction. These three practices accelerate the evolution of consciousness by facilitating the construction of the antahkarana. Progress upon the upward way is then sure reward. Esoterically understood, the antahkarana is the path, and the outer path that we walk is merely its reflection. Examining The Heart Of Your Relationship
By Maribeth Theisen “Do I love him enough? My friends all tell me, ‘you’re either in love or you’re not.’ Sometimes I don’t feel a connection. Sometimes there’s no attraction. Should we break up?” Relationship doubts and anxiety stem from black-and-white thinking – that you’re either in love or you’re not, attracted or not. Seeds of this idea are planted in childhood by fairy tales of ‘happily ever after.’ Wellmeaning friends worsen the situation with advice based on their own fears. Apprehension arises that love is gone. Panic arises that something is wrong with my relationship. Something is wrong with me. I don’t know how to love. Perhaps you find fault with your partner. She’s selfish. He cares more about work. Spiritual seekers who are honest have even greater anxiety. I must be loving, manifest the ideal relationship, experience divine union. What is at the root of these worries? Childhood wounds result in core beliefs, such as I’m not good enough. A child’s helpless nature reacts to parental inabilities with a sense that “If I were better, I’d have more love.” As we mature, our lovers activate this shame, just by being imperfect humans. If they are overworked or grieving, and less emotionally available, the inner child can respond with terror. The angst is painful. Tapping Into Miracles
The Power Of One
By Melinda Martin A Course in Miracles is a course in mind training, a process of learning to think with the right mind/the mind of God rather than what the Course calls the wrong mind/the ego. The central non-dualistic message is, “God is” and nothing else exists. In an attempt to separate from God we made an ego, which the Course says is the source of all pain, disease, stress, etc. When we are in our “ego mind” we are unable to hear the messages of the Holy Spirit or Jesus or God’s messengers. The ego messages block awareness of God’s Love and the peace that we are. The Course contends we live within a dream that is not real and includes the body, which is a difficult concept to accept. The Course defines a miracle as a change in perception, how we perceive our lives in the world we have made. Tapping, including Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and its variations, is a tool we can use to release the blocks to awareness of God’s Love. EFT is acupuncture without needles. The practitioner uses her fingertips to tap on meridian end points on the body to release blocked energy from trauma that could otherwise cause disease, stress and negative energy. It is easy to learn and can be used daily. So how does this work in harmony with the principles of the Course? Tapping releases ego-installed barriers in form (body) in the dream, allowing one to access the awareness of God’s Love and to think with the mind of God. The same spark of Life that grows the grass and trees is animating our own bodies. We are made of Life and Life is pouring through us, just as it is pouring through the plants, creatures, oceans and the stars. The sense of being we compartmentalize as physical, emotional, mental and spiritual, is also just one Life. We cannot actually separate our emotions or thoughts from the sensations and chemical processes in our body. We cannot remove our Spirit and show it to anyone. We are simply all of it, all at once, all the time. Each of us is a portal of Life itself. Paying deep attention to this Life can change our world, and bring us back into alignment as a race. What Is Your Posture In Life?
By Elizabeth Crow The spectacular design of the human body is amazing. However, what’s also amazing is how common it is for it to be functioning below its optimal level. Postural expert Pete Egoscue teaches there are general divisions called “conditions” of poor postural alignment he often associates with certain personality traits. Most of us are familiar with this idea of posture being linked to attitude, but few of us know how simple it is to correct. So, what is your posture in life? Are your hip joints stacked correctly and in alignment? Or, when standing upright, do you lead with your head? Is it forward of the gravity line? Do your hips jut or roll forward a bit? This is part of condition 1, which Egoscue calls the “fact collector.” Does your body rotate, i.e., is one hip or shoulder more forward than the other? That is condition 2, the posture of the “skeptic,” someone who tends to doubt and may be inclined to move “sideways” into life. Are you depressed or plagued with low energy? Are you slumped over with your hips tilted under? Those are signs of condition 3, which is one of the “pessimist.” Whatever your condition, these are simply habituated patterns with postural symptoms. Perfect posture is achievable. With a series of daily gentle exercises, remarkable improvements are available. Personality traits are not a necessary consideration, just a fascinating aspect. We often become accustomed to our pain or discomfort, things in life we call “the way it is.” The Egoscue Method has taught me that I am not stuck with a condition. The body’s design is immeasurably intelligent and none of us have to succumb to pain or limitation. Every human body is a self-healing wonder! Hope For Pediatric Headaches

A new treatment focusing upon cervical (neck) injuries, known as upper cervical chiropractic care, shows promise for children with chronic headaches, including migraine, cluster and tension headaches. According to medical research, headache is a brain disorder that is frequently linked to head and/or neck trauma. It is thought that trauma to the upper neck (C1 and C2 vertebrae) alters nerve and blood flow in the brainstem, leading to headaches. Upper cervical chiropractic care works by correcting trauma-induced misalignments of the upper cervical vertebrae, thereby restoring normal brainstem function. In children, a common cause of upper cervical injury is birth trauma, especially during precipitous delivery, premature birth, breech delivery, and forceful traction or forceps births. As children grow older, the inevitable tumbles and falls of childhood increase the risk of cervical injury. Injuries can also occur through falls or blows to the head during sports such as gymnastics, soccer, skateboarding, surfing or football, to name a few. Following trauma, headache symptoms can be triggered immediately, or they can take months or years to develop. To determine whether a child may benefit from upper cervical treatment, two diagnostic tests of the cervical spine – thermal imaging and digital x-ray – are performed. After determining a diagnosis of cervical injury, each patient’s injured neck is corrected by administering a precise adjustment by hand on a specially-designed knee chest table. Many children notice improvement in headache symptoms with just a few treatments. Headache is a debilitating disorder that affects the quality of life of millions of children. The Lover’s Path, To Dissolve Into The One By Dr. DreamingBear
Prologue: You awaken in a dream to discover yourself walking along a pristine snow-laden path, parched and sensitive to the sounds of congregating waters up ahead. Suddenly, you notice huge bear tracks scattered through the forest in your immediate vicinity, and think out loud, “This looks dangerous, I’d better be careful. There’s obviously a big bad bear on the loose.” Proceeding with caution, but in desperate need of a drink, you reach a pristine waterfall laden with liquid-stars. Leaning over the sparkling river’s rainbow edge to scoop up some light, your reflection in the mirror of the water’s ripple reveals the truth. That all along, to your surprise, the huge scary bear…was actually You. If you’re not ready to be completely devoured, to be eaten alive, to be consumed mind, body and soul into Source, then turn away DearOne. Leave the Lover’s Path without hesitation or shame. If you really want to know the absolute Truth, in the end we all dissolve into the living laughter of love and light! We all disappear into the soft holy tenderness of the One. When that happens, truth turns into an earthquake, as laughter and tears erupt from volcanic-veins running deep into our soul’s liquid-light-love-core. For somewhere inside you, Eternity is doing the backstroke, taking flying leaps from the tip of the tongue of the Tender-One, and doing banzai bellyflops into the warm luminous oceans overflowing in your eyes! In this very moment, there is an entire tribe of rambunctious giggling angels camped out in hot-springs in your navel. They’ve disrobed themselves of their secrecy and whisper crazed love-poems into each other’s ears all night, about your most intimate encounters with the One, after
overhearing prayers you once uttered in your sleep as a child. Just speak the name, Dear-One, just say out-loud to your worst enemy the word Love. But when God starts asking God, “Where is God?,” then the Universe suddenly finds itself getting very nervous, frantically pacing the floor of existence, wringing her hands together, biting her nails, and asking, “what are we going to do about this mess?” A few shooting stars get trigger-happy and decide to hightail it out of town. The sun becomes so concerned she goes supernova, gently exploding love across the Night. Until a pair of playful planets chime-in, along with a misfit moon saying, “Everybody relax, and let’s all continue to dance and sing together in eternal ecstasy! Until our Beloved can remember. Until every cell and molecule becomes fully self-aware, and joins us in our dance to cure this ancient amnesia.” Until you as the Lover can so tenderly recall who you really are, by taking the hand of the Sacred-One within, and smiling like lovers do, when they finally rediscover each other across timelessness, and kiss, to somehow softly become…God kissing God. Create From Your Heart By Debbie Dehm I have known that big changes were coming in my life, but I didn’t know how to prepare for them. So I kept doing all the same things and nothing much was changing. I was getting worried about how to handle the doors that were closing, and not seeing any new ones open. I consulted my wiser, more experienced friends. They helped me clear the old programs running in my head. Then I got clear on what I truly wanted to happen. My wise friends advised me to create from my heart and not my head. When I asked for a new job and a place to live, the universe provided both very quickly. It wasn’t exactly what I had in mind, so I had to go back to the universe and order again. Now I’m noticing that when I think about what I need, it shows up fairly fast. The other day I was at my new job giving chair massages at the mall. I was given a huge blessing from a very special person that I never expected to meet, especially not at the mall. This confirmed that I have reached a state of grace. The powerful synchronicities that got me to meet this person would blow your mind. Many times I wanted to quit my job at the mall, but my friends encouraged me to stay because of who I might meet while I was there. They were so right. I ask all of the light workers to stop hiding in your own little circles. Get back out in the public and shine. It is harder than hanging around like-minded people, but so worth it. Memories Of The Heart
By Barbara Ensign When we are born, our hearts hold many secrets within, which slowly begin to unravel as we proceed along life’s path. For most of us, there is a rediscovering of where we came from – our spiritual roots. Once this discovery begins, the possibilities are unlimited. As we move along on our journey, we might be triggered by certain smells, tastes or sounds. A familiar voice, a gentle smile, or a gaze can touch our heart, as if a memory from long ago. Or we might step foot on a sacred ground that feels only too familiar. Our hearts hold memories from our entire existence, even from before we were born, including our past lives. Sometimes the feelings that run so deeply in our hearts are unexplainable by our current life. What if we all have had past lives? What if there is more than just this life? Why should we find these secrets of the heart, or why do they sometimes find us? What is the value of this information from our past? Even though we will likely never have a complete picture of who we are, finding another piece of the puzzle can give us clarity and understanding about who we are and why we feel the way we do. Craft An Herbal Love Potion!
By Achintya Devi Let’s get love crafty, shall we? Here is a wonderful interactive herbal love potion recipe I’ve used for years to nourish the heart physically, emotionally and spiritually. Yes, it’s also an aphrodisiac! Begin at Full or New Moon. In a quart jar, fill to near the brim with the following: cardamom, rose petals, hawthorne berries, damiana. Use fresh ingredients when possible. Dried is probably most accessible. Add Brandy to brim of jar to soak all the ingredients. You’ll probably need to top the jar the next day with more Brandy (love faeries often take some the first night). Bring your jar out into the night and have your potion bask through the different phases of the moon, infusing it with your intentions and prayers. Be sure to store your potion in a cool and dark area and avoid direct sunlight. Let it sit for 6 weeks, so that you complete at a Full or New Moon as well. Once your 6-week cycle is complete, strain liquid into a new quart jar with a fine strainer. Fill the remaining space in the jar with a mixture of maple syrup and spring water to taste. Add a touch of powdered cayenne for a little kick if you like. Mix it up and pour into tincture bottles for storing. This can last up to a couple years! Use during the Full Moonphase (or whenever you feel moved) to accentuate your juicy nature. Remember, your intention for ingestion is the most powerful ingredient. Its properties include: opening the heart (physically and emotionally), tonifying the cardiovascular system, getting the blood moving, boosting sexual potency, and calming the nervous system. Enjoy! Creating A Legacy That Matters By Paul O’Brien On the last day of 2014, I finished a massive writing project – a new book, entitled Great Decisions, Perfect Timing: Cultivating Intuitive Intelligence (available to the public on Chinese New Year, February 19, 2015). The book is part how-to (to improve decisionmaking and timing), part autobiography, and part philosophy. One topic in the book is how selfdiscovery works differently in the three stages of life: student (Stage 1), builder (Stage 2) and patron or sponsor (Stage 3). One important aspect of the learning in the Patron stage is about legacy. Recently I taped a Pathways interview with Rick Weijo, author of Our Dreams for our Children: Creating Legacies that Inspire Each New Generation (listen to it at Divination.com). I am inspired by Rick’s notion of legacies as something that we can consciously create, not just what we finally leave behind for descendants to sort out. While we are at it, he advises not to think of legacy as a goal, but as a creative process, something we live and breathe into, and something that can motivate us during the last stage of life. Like my first two books, The Visionary I Ching and Divination, the new book Great Decisions, Perfect Timing is a publishing project of the Divination Foundation, which is what I would now describe as a “legacy non-profit.” I founded it after selling what had become the world’s largest astrology and divination website. Having done well enough to “retire,” I set up a private foundation as a way to express my creativity and pass on what I continue to learn (including from the luminaries I interview) – to help our culture evolve. As the online and offline publisher of my writings and radio interviews, the Divination Foundation is my legacy. And, rather

than just something that will live on after me, it remains an engaging work of continuous discovery. “Retirement” has never held much meaning for me. I much prefer Weijo’s word, “renewal.” After hanging up my hat as a businessman, my renewal came in the form of research, writing and podcasting my Pathways interviews (via iTunes and Divination.com). After so many rounds of golf or bridge, the old way of retirement gets boring. Creating a legacy is the new retirement and it is inspiring! Even if, for economic reasons, a person needs to work later in life, it’s still good to consider what your legacy shall be. You have one, you know. It doesn’t have to be a material inheritance. It could consist of a personal letter that encourages the future of a descendant, what Weijo calls a “legacy letter.” You could share and explain your partially checked off bucket list. Or do a write-up of your personal or family history. It could be a dedicated poem. It could be a memoir or book that you write two hours a day (like I did). Your legacy can affect the future by improving the odds that the wisdom you’ve gained by your unique experience can help somebody who comes after. Your stories and insights are gifts worth passing on. No matter what form it takes, your personal legacy can support better decisions and a more promising future for generations to come. That is why I wrote the book!

Seeing Is Believing ~ Reality Is Perception
By Jasmin Akash, M.A. Reality is perception. First we see things, then we interpret what we see; this is what shapes our values, beliefs and behavior. But appearances are not always what they seem. While our planet is incredibly beautiful, through our limited perception we see a very troubled world. It is not simply that so many people seem unhappy. I mean, people are dying over ideological, religious and cultural differences. Millions are suffering from poverty, disease and hunger. Whole species of animals and plants are disappearing. Let’s face it, we’re trashing our planet. This ‘me versus you,’ ‘us versus them’ separation syndrome is the root of suffering. Where does it come from? It starts with our limited perceptions and beliefs, and grows exponentially from there. We’re on the tipping point and in dire need of healing. We need a change of heart. Transforming perception is the beginning of this healing. Throughout the ages, philosophers and visionaries have said there is an underlying reality that transcends our three-dimensional world – a reality where everything is connected, where all is ‘one.’ Now, modern science has proven it. All forms are part of an invisible network of interconnected patterns of light frequency. It’s called the Holographic Universe. Fifteen years ago I had a profound spiritual breakthrough that opened the door to that holographic consciousness. Do You Recognize Yourself Here?
By Jenny Grace Shaw I saw her again today – her words, her voice, her behaviors, her choices; no change. I see her every day despite the fact she feels – and worse, wants to be – invisible. I hear many talk about her as she walks by. I see them notice her in a whirlwind of judgments and synopses, both positive and not so positive. I swear I hear her thoughts, her screams for freedom, and her life questions bouncing around behind her lying eyes. I admit she scares me sometimes. What would she do if I offered her friendship? If she behaves towards me as I see her treat herself, then I am safer to remain in this room of avoidance. If she angrily rejects me and falls deeper into her story, I would never forgive myself. If I said one thing wrong, all of my own selfsynopses would be correct, resulting in the immediate replacement of my own masks. How could I, just one ordinary ‘other,’ be helpful anyway? It’s better to repeat my familiar protective patterns than to be vulnerable – “I don’t notice her anymore.” Sound familiar? Do you recognize yourself here? Which ‘one’ are you? Do you find yourself wishing you were invisible, yet actively participating in behaviors that scream, “I am hurting, please notice me! But if you ask me, I will never admit

it.” Are you trapped between dreaming of a new day while remaining hostage to your routine as if you were at least able to choose your kidnapper? Follow Your Innate Talents
By Lavenda Schaff Growing up, children often rely on their parents as their most trustworthy caretakers. They tend to follow their parents’ guidance, even if they sense untruth in it. Many of us were raised by adults who followed a conventional path, automatically, even when their hearts desired something else. Perhaps they got married early or secured an office manager job, while the talented artist in them wanted to go to art school and paint for 8 hours a day. The steady job may have created a feeling of safety. Yet, something inside was slowly resigning or dying. It might not have been noticeable at first. Over time, though, becoming busy with maintaining a secure life drowned out the inspiration, creative expression, innate talent. Not following one’s innate direction towards happier and more expansive choices can be devastating, and may lead to depression, diabetes, high blood pressure or heart failure. Luckily, the veils to divine guidance are much thinner these days. The heavenly helpers are nearby. The small hints from friends could be loving advice from spirit. Change doesn’t need to be radical. This is called the path of selfsurrender, which paradoxically opens up the whole universe within and speeds up your spiritual evolution exponentially. Some call this God/Goddess, Love, the great mystery, the great perfection, or the Tao. Some say wisely, “the Tao that can be named is not the Tao.” I say, the only reality is Love, which actually means the same thing. To access the awakened mind, simply drop your mind into your heart, whose natural state is love, joy, compassion and infinite intuitive understanding. Every moment is a clean slate pregnant with infinite potential. We only repeat the same patterns out of habit and because of the survival mechanisms that have been ingrained in our system. Let’s free ourselves of conditioning! I know who we are is so magnificent, so overflowing with unconditional love, so full of unlimited compassion and understanding. A mere glimpse of a fraction of a fraction of the supreme light that we carry is enough to melt our heart in tears of ineffable joy. So here is the tricky part: do not chase the light, it will always go faster than you. Simply allow yourself to shine your light. Be well, be Love, be Light. By Shems Heartwell It is no secret; the heart is the most profound and amazing transmitter, receiver and transformer of energy. Recent science has documented what the ancient mystics have known for centuries – that the heart radiates out a bioelectrical field that interacts with everyone and everything we come close to, and even those we are connected to in faraway lands. Even still, science is just scratching the surface of the true potential of our heart’s magnificence. There are vast frontiers of heart intelligence that may be the most important key to the evolution and healing of humanity. When our attention is rooted in our hearts and with increased awareness, we balance out the tendency to be mentally polarized in separation consciousness. This expands our capacity to love, accept and connect with everything and everyone in more meaningful ways. How often do you truly feel connected to your loved ones? Not just being close to them, but actually sensing and perceiving your connection and the influence you are having on one another? This is a wonderful intention to have when you are with people you love. Focus on what you sense and feel in your heart and body as you talk with or touch one another. Allow your awareness to be less on your thoughts and more on what you perceive. In my work with clients, this is where people make big strides in feeling healthier, happier and more empowered. Every aspect of our lives becomes more rich and fulfilling when we are in tune with our hearts. A Child’s Reflection
By Rhonda J. Felix For me, one of the quickest ways to unlock the Secrets of the Heart is in receiving the love and expression of a child. Children are open with their feelings and generally have no problem expressing them to you. Having developed programs for children these past years and having spent time with them, I have found this to be consistently true. Children have the ability to look at you and reflect right back the truth of what they see being directed to them. The heart holds so many secrets; some of these are of fulfillment and inspiration, while others are of pain and suffering. I would venture to say that oftentimes, interacting with a child will aid in the healing of our own unresolved childhood trauma or pain. It is amazing how this is in the cellular memory of the body, ready and willing to come forward. And bingo, an interaction with a child allows it to be revealed. What we choose to do with the memory is up to each one of us individually. I encourage myself, as well as others, to follow it through and come to the place of forgiveness, which is key to moving forward. We all wish for healing, especially for the heart, which is one of the main energy systems that feeds and directs us. If the energy system of the heart is blocked or shut down, then we are not in the flow of receiving what is ours by divine right. You know you are ‘open’ if you can look into the eyes of a child and feel his or her love in your very being. Rhonda J. Secret Of The Heart

The Key Is In The Heart
By Shayna “Nechama” Naveh In today’s society we are constantly bombarded by toxins that adversely impact our health. Environmental toxins pervade our environment. Increasingly stress-filled lives attract negative emotions, which cause harm both physiologically and psychologically. Our psyches are filled with toxic thoughts and beliefs that were formed as a result of past traumas and experiences. All of these cause blockages to the divine flow that keeps us alive and healthy. To restore this flow and return to a state of health, we must release the blockages and regain balance and harmony. Physical detox can clear physical blockage. Controlling our thoughts and emotions can restore emotional balance. Examining and changing damaging subconscious beliefs can lead to deeper harmony. In the Jewish mystical tradition, the heart serves as a causal link between mind and body. It is through the heart that we can direct our mind and exert positive control over our body and actions. The mind has the power to influence the heart; the inner essence of the heart has the power to influence the mind. By tuning in to our heart’s intuitive guidance, we can replace negative thoughts with positive, and reset our beliefs. All of this unblocks the flow and strengthens our life force. True health encompasses the entire body/mind/soul spectrum; all its aspects are interrelated. Unifying the mind with the heart is vital for achieving true health and wellbeing. Why hasn’t the GMO Moratorium Bill become law yet? Maui County officials have refused to adopt it. Maui County officials reached a “settlement” with Monsanto and Dow Chemical to not certify the election results, or begin implementation of Malama Aina Award the law approved by voters, until March 2015. Together, they convinced a Federal Magistrate Judge to issue an order delaying implementation of the voter-approved ordinance. How can a Federal Judge invalidate the results of a State Election? The agribusiness industry is trying to have the Federal Court make the same ruling they had in Kauai and Hawaii counties. Specifically, to invalidate local laws, intended to diminish environmentally risky industrial activity in Hawaii. In Maui County, the agribusiness industry is arguing that federal and state laws preempt the GMO Moratorium Bill. The agribusiness industry is wrong. There are no federal or state laws that regulate the GMO operations and practices in Maui County.
WhAT’S hAppening WiTh Your VoTe: On November 4, 2014, Maui voters made history by approving a bill calling for a moratorium on cultivation of genetically engineered crops until an environmental impact study can be conducted to prove such practices are not harming the environment or Maui citizens. Doesn’t the Hawaii State Constitution affirm the right to a safe environment? YES. That is why this action by agribusiness is so serious. The GMO Moratorium Bill is based upon Hawaiian Constitutional Law. The agribusiness industry’s assertion that determinations of government agencies have the authority to override the Hawaii State Constitution is completely baseless. Is there any recourse to correct this injustice? YES. The Shaka Movement is actively pursuing this in both Federal and State Courts. The Shaka Movement’s legal council has asked the State Judge to order Maui County officials to proceed forward in properly implementing the GMO Moratorium Bill. Presently, the Chief Judge of the Hawaii Federal District Court is reviewing a motion, filed by The Shaka Movement, to have the entire case moved back to the state court. In doing so, Maui County officials will be required to implement the law.
