Motion Control Engineering has a proud history of working with owners and managers of exceptional buildings across the United States, South America, and Europe. We have found that no two projects are exactly alike and have learned to thrive on the challenges presented by unique requirements. We have especially made hotels, universities, hospitals, and signature buildings an MCE tradition. This brochure captures just a few projects over our thirty years of leadership in the non-proprietary elevator market.
The Motion Advantage Motion Control Engineering understands the specialized internal traffic requirements, use, and modernization strictures that make elevator controls in many buildings unique. Hotel elevator traffic may be more continuous than other buildings, with up traffic to many different floors, and down traffic from many different floors to predominant destination floors including the lobby, parking, and recreation or spa floors. Modernization projects must emphasize continuing to provide the best possible service, possibly using cross registration systems to maintain service from legacy cars as modernization proceeds. At least one car will typically be a dedicated freight or a heavy duty passenger car that is “swung out from the group for feight service as needed. VIP service is frequently required. University buildings may be characterized by short periods of intense elevator use separated by hour or more intervals during the day. Intelligent parking may be very important, positioning empty cars prior to anticipated demand. As with hotels, modernization projects must emphasize continuous service. Hospital elevators are in continuous demand to and from mixed floors with some emphasis on lobby and special function floors. Cars are frequently multi-purpose
passenger, patient transportation, and freight. Typically there is at least one dedicated freight car moving supplies and equipment. In addition, hospitals use special emergency risers for urgent medical calls and require controllers with medical appropriate behavior modes. Signature buildings include high rise edifices, iconic structures, and national monuments. High rise structures demand performance – fast floor-to-floor times, high speed cars, and exceptional dispatching technology. Monuments can sometimes require the unusual, for example, floors that are really historical viewing opportunities. At MCE, we work with you to address special needs and ensure a successful project. Motion Control Engineering is the largest provider of nonproprietary elevator controls, with an installed base of nearly 200,000 units worldwide. Non-proprietary means that building owners are not locked into a specific service provider by long-term contracts and special, proprietary tools. Our non-proprietary philosophy ensures building owners the freedom to choose the installer and service provider of their choice, without constraint. MCE controls never require special, proprietary tools and MCE technical support is available to all service providers, without regard to their corporate affiliation.

iCONTROL AC and DC Elevator Controls from MCE No other controller even comes close. iControl provides performance, with car speeds to 1800 feet per minute in AC or DC configurations, service to 150 landings with two openings each, and group dispatching for up to 15 cars, But performance takes a back seat to iControl adjustment, diagnostic, and monitoring capabilities. Exclusive iView technology allows iControl configuration to be minutely viewed and adjusted from anywhere an Internet connection is available. iMonitor and iReport applications allow iControl elevator groups to be monitored in real time, again from any location with an Internet connection. iControl dispatchers use artificial intelligence to dynamically determine the best minute-to-minute response to building traffic. Choose iControl when your building needs the best.

UNIVERSITIES
Universities and educational institutions across the United States consistently choose Motion Control Engineering for elevator modernizations. With the introduction of our Freedom line of complete elevator packages in 2009, our institutional customers are quickly discovering the quality and value of using MCE as their single-source provider — choosing the simplified logistics, superior products, and unified support MCE has come to personify. Many of the universities in this brochure have from dozens to well over one hundred MCE elevator controls providing the day-in, day-out reliability they have come to expect when they specify Motion Control Engineering.
