2016: The Year of the Problem Solver! A note from the desk of our Camps Manager:
A
t Great Lakes Science Center, we make science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) come alive! We encourage curiosity and foster the innovation and ingenuity that will make our community a better place. This summer, our professional teaching staff is instituting a Problem Based Learning model in each of our classrooms. Campers will experiment with methods of problem solving to overcome challenges that promote selfefficacy and critical thinking. But since it is summer camp, we can’t forget the fun! Each camp week is designed to be the perfect combination of excitement, STEM challenge, outdoor fun and memory-making. When your child leaves camp, we hope they take with them a renewed sense of awe for the world around them! The Science Center recently received a full re-accreditation as a multi-site camp by the American Camp Association. This means a safe, quality experience for every camper, every time. We’re so excited to serve you and your family as we solve problems together in 2016. Always Question, Always Wonder
