MISSION OF THE IOC
MISSION OF THE IOC The International Olympic Committee is the supreme authority of the Olympic Movement. Acting as a catalyst for collaboration between all parties of the Olympic family, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) shepherds success through a wide range of programs and projects. On this basis it ensures the regular celebration of the Olympic Games, supports all affiliated member organizations of the Olympic Movement and strongly encourages, by appropriate means, the promotion of the Olympic values.
LOGO The logo of the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics is a very valuable asset. We must treat it nicely with respect to the branding of the International Olympic Committee. The PyeongChang 2018 Olympic logo symbolizes the harmony of snow and ice, winter sports stars (athletes) and people from around the world that come together in PyeongChang, in a world open to everyone where the earth meets the sky.

Logo Introduction
The symbol of the square found in the center of the snowflake represents the first consonant of the first syllable of PyeongChang in the Korean alphabet, Hangul, and expresses the harmony of Heaven, Earth and Man.
Also the open square symbolizes where the celebration of athletes and winter sports will take place.

LOGO SPECS The logo itself has an image to hold. It is more that just a graphic placed on one thing to the next. The PyeongChang Olympic logo is a symbol that needs to be treated with care. There are a few rules that must abide by for use of logo.

placed on a colored background. It should never be sketched, skewed, or altered from its original format.
02 This logo is the secondary logo in white, and should be used when dealing with a color background. The logo should never be put a light color. It should never be sketched, skewed, or altered from its original format.

Logo Specifications
PICTOGRAMS A unique set of pictograms were created for PyeongChang 2018 Olympics. These pictograms will be used as a symbol system to help with the language barrier from one country to another. As well, will serve as a way-finding system that will be implemented through out the branding of the Olympics.

Pictograms
There are two sub sets to the pictograms. One set is focused on ice sports, while the second set is focused on snow sports. The pictograms are derived from the basic letter structures of the Korean Alphabet. This relates back to the logo, by including similar attributes.

Typography The Pyeongchang Olympic games has one typeface for all print materials. DIN Alternate bold a font family that complements the line features in the logo design as well as the overall graphics.

This typeface has a nice, clean simple look. That is good for anything from headlines to body copy. Use DIN Alternate always when possible.

Tickets The primary goal for ticketing is to allow as many people as possible to enjoy the Games experience. As with every Games, ticket sales have provided a valuable income stream for the Organizing Committee, which helps stage the Games. With millions of people wandering Olympic Park tickets are essential to know who should be where. There are three types of tickets. Each ticket is color coded to easily help direct spectators to their locations. The first ticket is the gold ticket. This ticket is strictly used for the opening and closing ceremonies. The second and third are both for sporting events. The dark blue is focused around the snow sports, while the light blue tickets are targeted towards the ice sports.

Transportation The winter Olympics brings in more than 2800 athletes, and 1.1 million spectators each games. With these large numbers it is very important to help get people where they need to go. Because the winter games have multiple venues we need an easy and reliable way to transport both spectators and athletes from place to place. Some events are held in the mountains while others remain at the base level. Parking near Olympic park is limited to help preserve the natural environment. The goal for these buses will provided transportation from parking to Olympic park.

Once in Olympic park, these buses will provide as a shuttle service from snow sport venues to the ice sport venues. There will be different buses for staff and athletes. These buses will help provided structure for getting around as well as a way to stay warm during PyeongChang winter climate.
