MUSEUM OF SCULPTURES’ REPRODUCTIONS
MONUMENTOS MODERNOS

Universidad Politecnica de Madrid Escuela TĂŠcnica Superior de Arquitectura Design Studio 4 Professors Anton CapitĂŠl and Enrique de Teresa The idea was to create a small museum of reproductions of classical, Greek and Roman statues, as a sort of extension of the National Museum of Artistic Reproductions. Placed in a significant area of the city of Aranjuez (Spain), with attractive historical presences and with the situation of statues, not many and very determined both inside and outside. The museum consists of two buildings that are located in two different blocks, connected both with a suspended footbridge on the first floor, both with an underground connection. There are two small patios, one interior, that also houses the main vertical circulation, and one external. The illumination of the interior space is guaranteed thanks to the skylights that allow us to appreciate, from east to west, direct light.

CEREAL SILOS
MONUMENTOS MODERNOS
5
Universidad Politecnica de Madrid Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura Design Studio 4 Professors Anton Capitél and Enrique de Teresa The aim was to carry out an exercise that combined the idea of landscape adaptation with that of arbitrary form. Given the operation of a common silos for cereals, an interesting landscape and urban context and taking into account the infinite possibilities of the reinforced concrete structure, a project proposal was proposed for a new silos in the town of Arévalo (Spain). The building looks like a solid block, in which the elements that combine it are rotated 30 degrees, using different heights to camouflage the building with the profile of the city. The covering materials are the concrete for the ground floor and the corten steel for the remaining development of the building.

Young Architects Competitions Green Academy with Manuel Fernando Ramello, Alessandro Depaoli, Grazia Carioscia, Ambra Seghesio The opportunity, when you deal with industrial heritage, isn’t only the preservation and safeguard of the cultural heritage of the industrial era, but also the possibility to be linked with the future dynamics of the local social and economic development. The perspective is to be able of planning the use for the future generations through the best possible exploitation of the ressources, combining this demand with the research and experimentation of new models of economic development and with the attempt to not loose the remaining historical values and the community identity. Our vision of a Green Academy goes through a multidisciplinary approach that makes creativity the propelling element to trigger a sustainable economic growth.

Politecnico di Torino Dipartimento di Architettura e Design Renovation of the consolidates city Design Studio Professors Paolo Mellano and Rossella Maspoli The project area, within a consolidated part of the city of Torino, is an old industrial sector in disuse, in a district that is experiencing many changes in the economic, social and urban point of view. With the aim of making the area more permeable and accessible, a masterplan has been prepared that consists of the insertion of public and private functions: social housing, traditional residences, co-working and co-living spaces, an auditorium and a library. The interventions refer both to the physical recovery of the historical heritage that the inclusion of new buildings and the design of energy efficient technology solutions.
