Each year with great anticipation new wedding trends emerge. However, with so many weddings cancelled or postponed this past year, anything goes seems to be the motto and weddings are now more than ever about integrating individuality. Whether it is going bold or sticking with the trends, couples are expressing themselves in unique ways in 2022.

Choosing the flowers is an thrilling part of the wedding planning process. Flowers can add that pop of color and are gorgeous focal points and stunning components of the ceremony and reception.

For 2022, the Florist Review has non-traditional flowers, such as dried flowers, at the top of the hot list. Adding dried flower elements with fresh cut flowers is trendy, they are available in a multitude of colors, and work with any color palette. The addition of dried flowers also creates the perfect balance in designing beautiful bouquets, table decorations, and décor accents. Remember when working with the florist, using fresh cut flowers from your region during their peak season is the most economical way to stay on budget and the blooms will be at their best.

Greenery is a trend that is here to stay for a while. Greenery is a cost-effective way to elevate the ceremony décor by adding texture and color. Greenery is perfect for draping on staircases, used in combination with florals for table decorations, and at strategic spots in the venue. Greenery is also a way to make bouquets fuller and larger at a fraction of the price when compared to fresh flowers, hence another reason for its popularity. In addition, dark green is on trend for fall and winter weddings in 2022 as well as other dark hues. Expect to see colors such as emerald green, navy, amethyst purple, ruby red, and citrine yellow at wedding nuptials and be sure to appreciate these deep rich jewel tones and the memorable moody weddings they create.

Bride and Bow is predicting a broad spectrum of color trends will be popular in 2022 because couples are focusing more on themselves instead of current trends. Neutral tones from subtle beige, warm taupe, blush, and soft tan to earthy colors like mocha, marigold yellow and burnt sienna, a deep red brown color, will be fashionable. For spring and summer weddings this year, yellows, dusty blue, lavender, and shades of berry pinks are trending. In addition to the jewel tones for fall and winter, earthy rust tones like sophisticated browns, oranges, and muddied greens will be prevalent. Warm tones in 2021 were common and the trend is predicted to continue into 2022. These colors are perfect for any season and include a variety of hues such as peach, dusty rose, brown, ruby, and sage.

Periwinkle and soft blue hues make for a beautiful classy wedding in any season and the blue palette is ideal for the hopeless romantic yearning for a wedding ceremony in a French countryside filled with lavender. Plus, it offers the bride the perfect opportunity to include “something blue” too. However, if a couple truly wants to be unique and be bold, the modern black wedding is the way to go. It’s the perfect combination of stylish white and elegant black blending together to create a remarkable setting.
