The first 72 hours of every disaster response effort is committed to saving as many lives as possible. Though we are not a search and rescue organization, we offer the resources we have to support where we can. Typically during this critical time period our disaster response team is mobilized and begins a thorough assessment of the greatest needs. B E S T WAY T O H E L P

hen disaster strikes people come together—tragedy has a way of creating solidarity. In the week following the 7.1 earthquake that devastated Haiti on January 12, 2010 the international community united to give over $150 million dollars. These donations were used to fund emergency search and rescue operations, provide much needed food and water, and establish temporary shelters. In order for disaster response to be at its best it requires donations. However, for disaster response to be at its very best it must grow into long term development. For the people of Haiti there are no quick fixes. The long hard road to recovery is going to take years of prayer, giving and hard work. The Haiti|5 campaign is an invitation for you to commit your best now, tomorrow and long after the debris from this earthquake has been removed.
