Absorption in all directional piping movements, including axial compression and extension, lateral deflection, angular and torsional direction.

Insulation against vibration to dampen noise transmission.

Resistance against fatigue and shock, making them suitable for pressure-surge and water hammer dampening.

Maxi-joints

State-of-the-art rubber expansion joints, flexible connectors, rubber flanged hoses and accessories, spray shield and penetration shields. Single to quadruple wide arch types, slip-on sleeves and concentric/ eccentric centrelines.

Advanced

Custom in-line and elbow pressure, and dismantling joints. Slip-on sleeves, flanged versatile and standard, and PTFE composites to reduce vibration transfer and accommodate thermal movement.

Restrained

Hinge, universal or gimbal stabilisers provide piping system flexibility while restraining pressure thrust forces and other external loads.

Performance

Lightweight, high pressure, high temperature, lateral and angular offset, flanged pipes and fittings.

Reduction in costs by relieving piping and anchor stresses from thermal and other external forces and displacements.

Compensation for minor misalignments with standard joints or quickly fabricated custom units with large permanent offsets.

Accessibility when using joints as a removable spool piece or with a self-retracting design.

INSTALLATION

JB Specialised Engineering are experts in the selection, application and installation of rubber expansion joints.

To maximise performance and safety, we recommend:

• Installations are carried out by authorised and qualified pipe fitters, following a detailed inspection.

• Regular inspections, looking for obvious bulges, tears, cracks or other visible damage.

• A late-stage service life maintenance program to prevent downtime as the elastomers age and lose their flexibility and resilience.

• Weather-resistant compounds for outdoor installations.

• Providing a sunshield/cover or paint with elastomer-based UV-resistant coating for hot/arid environments.
