MAx Provenzano was born in Caracas-Venezuela in 1986; he studied chemistry and graduated in 2011. He is an artist in constant investigation on the ephemeral processes of matter and his body as a material that approaches his ways of work starting from experimental aesthetic formulations. In 2017 He migrated from Venezuela to Mexico with the ongoing performative project called (IM)PORTAR which was an independent and collaborative work with a Mexican artist and curator. Since then, his work has been influenced by the migration context he is actually living in. His work is an intimate approach to his life, based on the relationship between body, object and environment. It makes him interested - or immersed - from drift, situationism and dispersion, accumulating a series of data and information in images, graphics, texts and materials for archive, study and observation. Subsequently, from two-dimensional approaches (drawing, photography, painting, scanning images, mixed) or videos and installations, over his own body, frames or delimits different processes, chemical or physical materials, all of this for the circulation of recordings and images through different platforms. All objects are found or sought; from personal events that he goes finding on his way building a road, without end or planned purpose. He studied at the Photography Laboratory of the Faculty of Sciences UCV (2008) and at the Nelson Garrido Organization (2013). He has 4 solo shows in Venezuela: [inflexiones] (2014), El Tercer Mundo (2015), READYMAx and Elucidaciones (2017). In 2019 He was selected for Artist In Residence-June 2019 in Agder Kunstsenter, Norway with the project ReLocations and he had the solo show [a]drift in Arteriet Gallery. In 2021, he was one of the curators of Thessaloniki Queer Arts Festival- What is Identity?. His work has also been exhibited in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Greece, Spain and Finland. Actually he lives and works in Lisbon, Portugal.
