A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Beauty and the Beast remains one of Broadway’s biggest successes of the current era and is considered to be Broadway’s first legitimate family show, birthing generations of new theatre goers. Adapted from the animated Disney film, this classic musical is filled with fantastic opportunities and exciting challenges for our young performers and Artistic Staff and seemed like the perfect fit for our 10th annual Spring Musical! Not only is it filled with fun and vivid characters, amazing sets and costumes, a great score and wonderful staging opportunities, but underneath it’s all about love, kindness and seeing others for who they are inside.

I feel very lucky to work for an organization so dedicated to providing positive, nurturing and inspiring experiences in the arts to individuals of all backgrounds and abilities. I share that dedication and passion immensely, so this year is extra special as we were able to add a Sensory Friendly performance of Beauty and the Beast!! I hope this enables many more individuals and families to experience the magic of theatre and this production!

This production was a huge undertaking and wouldn’t have been possible without the tremendous effort of our fantastic Cast, Artistic Staff and Production team! We have truly experienced the wonder of transformation as we all worked together to bring this “tale as old as time” musical to the stage. It has been a real team effort and every single step has been a joy! I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

To our audience and supporters, words cannot express our gratitude for your support and belief in our program! We hope that you too are transformed by what you see, to dream a little harder, believe a little more and to recognize the beauty that is found within, in yourself and others!

Sincerely,

Dear Granddaughter Sophia,

We are so proud of you. Sophia you have a beautiful voice and a great stage presence. All the best!

Love, Grandma & Grandpa

Ella,

You will always be our silliest girl!

We love you and are so proud of you. Break legs, kiddo!

Love, -Mom, Dad, Jackson & Fergie

A NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT & CEO

We are so excited to present Disney’s Beauty and the Beast this year – our 10th spring production! The cast and crew have put in so much time, work and energy into making this a wonderful and memorable performance.

Our spring productions are a labor of love for all involved, and the experience for the performers will be priceless. Our young performers get to work with and learn from experienced professionals who share their love for the performing arts in a nurturing, supportive team environment that reflects the heart of MPAC’s educational philosophy.

MPAC’s Education Department is a leader in arts education in New Jersey. Year after year, thousands of children get to partake in arts experiences, including Performing Arts School classes, student recognition programs, school residencies, in-theatre field trips, The Miracle Project™, our performing arts programs for children on the autism spectrum and with other specific needs, and as members of The Performing Arts Company, our talented musical ambassadors. It is an honor to welcome these children into our building and help them begin a lifelong love of the arts.

Learn more about MPAC’s education programs on our website — or by asking any child who has ever taken a class here or come to a performance!

I would like to thank our many sponsors, led by Trend Motors, for their generous support of Beauty and the Beast. On behalf of the staff and Board of Trustees of Mayo Performing Arts Center, I would like to congratulate Cathy Roy, our Education Director and Director of Beauty and the Beast, her entire cast and creative team, the production crew and especially our wonderful youth performers on a job well done. We’re all so proud!

Best wishes,

Break A Leg, Oliver!

(But if it’s not baroque, don’t fix it!)

We are so proud of you!

Love, Dad, Mom, Emma, and Ricky

To Sophia and Cast, There is nothing sweeter than the success that comes from hard work. Take time and enjoy every bit of it!

Congratulations on a wonderful performance.

Love, Uncle Chris
