Now in its 21st year of touring, our show has performed in major performing arts centers, arenas, state fairs, prestigious corporate events, and an Inaugural Ball for President Clinton’s second term. By recreating the best popular music and songs of the late 1930s and the 1940s, IN THE MOOD aspires to promote the memory of this most significant time in American history. Starting in 1993, World USO selected IN THE MOOD to be an official entertainment for the 50th Commemoration of World War II. From 1994 to 2013 this show has traveled to over 48 states, Canada, Europe, New Zealand and Australia (twice) for dozens of sold out performances. Each year our tour continues to build momentum by adding performances in more cities across the country and we are delighted with international invitations and opportunities. IN THE MOOD Singers & Dancers Emilie Bienne (Vocalist) From a modest start as an acting intern at the Looking Glass Theatre and a backup vocalist for Brother Joscephus and the Love Revolution, Emilie Bienne has earned respect from fans and fellow performers around the world as a passionate artist and dedicated professional. With a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from the Boston Conservatory, she has traveled the world starring in worldclass productions from the Caribbean with Royal Caribbean Productions to Tokyo with Disney’s Big Band Beat, and back again to the USA. Emilie is now residing in New York City where she is a resident actor at The Flea Theater, 3V Theatre, and is working on writing her own music. She is thrilled to be traveling all over the United States with this year’s tour of IN THE MOOD. Brittney Leigh Morton (Vocalist) is originally from Salamanca, NY and is now a New York City based singer/actress/ dancer/songwriter. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre from BaldwinWallace University’s Conservatory of Music. Past regional credits include: Little Women (Jo), White Christmas (Judy), and Shrek (Fiona) at the Crown Uptown Dinner Theatre, Wichita, KS, Grease (Sandy) at the Tibbits Opera House, Coldwater, MI, Grease (Cha-Cha), The Sound of Music (Sister Margaretta), and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Jacob’s Wife) at the Bucks County and Pocono Playhouses, Godspell (Joanne), Crazy For You (Tess), and The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy) at the Arundel Barn Playhouse, Arundel ME. In 1999, she sang the National Anthem for the Buffalo Bills. like to dedicate this tour to her late sister, Andrea for always having a song in her heart, and a passion for the stage. Paige Sabo (Swing Dancer/Vocalist) is thrilled to be performing with IN THE MOOD! Originally from Seattle, she is now based out of New York City. Paige received her BFA in dance from the University of Arizona where she had the opportunity to perform with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. She has also been seen in dance revues throughout the United States and Canada, including the Abba tribute, Dancing Queen. New York credits include multiple performances at New York Fashion Week and Galapagos Art Space. Ryan N. Phillips (Vocalist, Narrator) is originally from Virginia Beach, VA and is now a New York City based actor. Having attended the University of Miami he was most recently seen at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg in the new show London Rocks! Before that, Ryan sailed throughout the Bahamas on the glorious Disney Dream cruise ship spending much time with his great friends Quasimodo and Aladdin. Favorite credits include The Pirates of Penzance (Frederic), Urinetown: The Musical (Bobby Strong), Man of La Mancha (José), Almost, Maine (Easy/Randy/Dave), FIFTY*FOUR*FOREVER (DJ/Judge), and The Drowsy Chaperone (Superintendent). He’s been very privileged to work with some truly great actors and directors including Tommy Tune, Terrence Mann, Nilo Cruz, and Pat Sajak. Ryan is a trained stage combatant and a member of the Society of American Fight Directors. This is for you, Jack. Dan Faber (Vocalist) originally from Cherry Hill, NJ is now a New York City based singer/actor. He has his Bachelors in Music from the University of Delaware (Presser Scholar, Summa Cum Laude, Honors Program). Luke is extremely pleased to be back touring the U.S. after 16 months at sea with Holland America Line as the Lead Singer/Dancer. He is a San Diego native and holds his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre from California State University at Fullerton. He is eternally thankful for YOU for supporting live art. “Enjoy, please!” STRING OF PEARLS ORCHESTRA Tom Dupin (Drums) entered the U.S. Army after college and served 25 years as the drummer for the Jazz Ambassadors of the U.S. Army Field Band, Washington, D.C. touring in the U.S. and internationally including main stage performances at jazz festivals in Montreux, Nice, Brussels, Toronto as well as Newport and New Orleans in the U.S. Over the course of his career Tom has performed with vocalists Cab Calloway, Dianne Reeves, Freddy Cole, harmonica players Larry Adler and Toots Thielemans, trumpeter Arturo Sandoval, pianist Carmen Cavallaro. In addition, Tom has toured with the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra. This is his 13th season as drummer for IN THE MOOD. Walter Stinson (Bass) is a bassist/ composer from Ithaca, NY. Beginning the study of upright bass at the age of 10 and growing up with a mother who would sing

and play jazz standards at the piano, Walter was exposed to a diverse range of music from a young age. He was also fortunate to study with some unsung heroes of the New York City jazz scene, namely bassist Bernie Upson and drummer George Reed. Continuing his studies, Walter graduated cum laude from Purchase College with a B.A. in jazz performance. He has also studied privately with Nicholas Walker, John Clayton, Doug Weiss, Kermit Driscoll, Scott Colley, Larry Grenadier, and Todd Coolman and has performed with Hubert Laws, Rufus Reid, Antonio Hart, Chris Potter, and Arturo O’Farrill. Jim Hayward (Lead Alto Saxophone) was assigned to numerous bands and performed in all saxophone positions, doubling on flutes and clarinets as required while serving in the US Navy. At the conclusion of his 28-year military tenure, he was the lead alto player for the U.S. Navy Band Commodores (the Navy’s official jazz/big band) in Washington, D.C. Recognized as one of the finest jazz saxophonists around, Jim has appeared nationally and internationally in concert with the Temptations, Rosemary Clooney, Natalie Cole and Jazz Cruise appearances with the Frank Capp Juggernaught Band. He is featured on numerous recordings including his own album “Coronado Sand”. Prior to his recent move to Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jim performed regularly with a number of South Florida’s finest musical organizations including the Bob Hoose Big Band and the Palm Beach Pops. Gene Thorne (Alto Saxophone) is a former member of the sax section, arranger and featured soloist with the U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors from 1975 to 2009. He attended the University of Miami from 1972-1975, later earning his Bachelor’s of Music degree in performance from Catholic University in 1984 and a Master’s of Music in composition from the University of Maryland in 1995. Gene has written arrangements that featured jazz great Phil Woods as well as pops arrangements that have been performed by the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, DC, the New York Pops and the Seattle Symphony conducted by the late Marvin Hamlish. He is now active as


a clinician and freelance musician in the Baltimore, MD – Washington, DC area. Marc Schwartz (Tenor Sax) is a professional saxophonist, composer, and arranger based in New York City. As a musician, Marc has played in and arranged for performances in prestigious ensembles, festivals, and concert halls around the world. A native of East Northport, NY, Marc earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in jazz performance and composition at the Eastman School of Music. He performed as a member of Ryan Truesdell’s Gil Evans Project at Prez Fest in New York City and at the 2012 Umbria Summer Jazz Festival in Perugia, Italy. As a graduate student at Eastman, Marc earned three student awards from DOWNBEAT for his arranging, solo saxophone performance, and ensemble playing. Upon graduating from Eastman, Marc moved to New York City to pursue a career as a freelance musician. Soon thereafter, Marc was invited to join the Glenn Miller Orchestra as a tenor saxophonist with which he performed in many great American theaters as well as a number of prominent performance venues in Japan. His first album as a leader, In The Wee Small Hours of the Night, was released in January 2014. Joe Jenkins (Baritone Saxophone) is an Atlanta native where he began his musical career at the age of 5 studying piano, later switching at age 10 to saxophone. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies from Georgia State University. While at GSU Joe was in the studios of Mace Hibbard, Adam Pendleton, and Ken Long. Since graduating Joe has become an active member of the Atlanta music scene performing in jazz ensembles, musicals, classical ensembles, pop bands and is in demand as a recording session instrumentalist. He is currently a touring member of The Tommy Dorsey orchestra, and The String of Pearls Orchestra with IN THE MOOD. Joe has had the privilege of performing for former President Jimmy Carter, the Atlanta Rotary Club, and several Habitat for Humanity functions, as well as sold out concerts at venues Terminal West, The Fredrick Brown Amphitheater, Benaroya Hall, and most notably Carnegie Hall. While maintaining

an active performing schedule, Joe has run an increasingly successful private studio, nurturing young musicians in the Atlanta area. Garrett Faccone (Trumpet) is originally from Eatontown, New Jersey. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Slippery Rock University and is completing a Master of Music Performance degree from Towson University. Garrett has performed and/ or recorded with Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Little Anthony and the Imperials, the 2013 Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Jazz Orchestra, the 2012 Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Jazz Orchestra, Al Chez and the Brothers of Funk Big Band, Hershey Park Entertainment, Lush Life, the Slippery Rock University Jazz Ensemble, and the Hunt Valley Symphony Orchestra. Most recently, Garrett completed a five-month tour of Japan with the Tony & Emmy Award winning sensation Blast. Nikola Tomic (Trumpet) is a versatile New York City-based trumpet artist. He divides his time between modern and traditional jazz, Latin dance music, commercial music, and chamber and orchestral music. Past tour and festival highlights include concerts at the Festival Internacional Cervantino in Guanajuato, Mexico with the Eastman BroadBand, the Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia, Italy performing the music of Gil Evans with Ryan Truesdell and the Eastman Chamber Jazz Orchestra, the Rochester International Jazz Festival, New York City’s Prez Fest, the Cornell University Jazz Festival, the Tri-C Jazz Festival, and the Crystal City Jazz Festival. Nikola holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music and Ithaca College. His primary teachers have included Clay Jenkins, Frank Gabriel Campos, Harold Danko, and Bill Dobbins. Scott Whitford (Trumpet) is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana. He attended Ball State State University from 20042009 where he played 1st trumpet in the esteemed BSU Lab Jazz Ensemble in 2008 & 2009. While at Ball State, Scott had the privilege of studying trumpet with Larry McWilliams and Mark Buselli. Scott has been in regular demand as a trumpet player and performer for Broadway


shows, national tours, cruise ships, and theme parks. He played in the Starlight Jazz Orchestra at Busch Gardens and has worked regularly throughout the world aboard Royal Caribbean and Princess Cruise lines as a lead trumpet player and musical director. Scott has performed in many shows including Hairspray, Chicago, Gypsy, The Producers, and played the roll of Biff Baker in A 1940’s Radio Hour, just to name a few. From 2011 to 2014, Scott served as lead trumpet in Heartland Big Band from Indianapolis. He has performed with various artists including Chuck Findley, Wayne Bergeron, The Temptations, The Contemporary Jazz Orchestra in San Francisco, The Dynamics, The Coasters, Bowzer and the Stingrays, and many others. Joe Zeigenfus (Lead Trombone) is a graduate of West Chester University and started his career at Palumbo’s Night Club in Philadelphia PA. He then became a member of the house band at the Latin Casino in Cherry Hill, NJ, performing with top acts such as Frank Sinatra, and Natalie Cole. With the advent of gambling in Atlantic City, NJ, Joe became the lead trombone player for the Tropicana Hotel and Casino house band and a first call trombonist with other Atlantic City showrooms. In his 30-year tenure there he worked with every casino show room act and review that came through town. His recording credits include NFL Films, Natalie Cole, Johnny Mathis, and dozens of commercials and jingles. Joe’s latest venture was a two-year tour with the Glenn Miller Orchestra. Steven Dunn (Trombone) is a trombonist, educator, and arranger based in Dallas, Texas who has toured over 70 countries. He has performed with renowned artists such as Jimmy Cobb, Randy Brecker, John Fedchock, Adonis Rose, and Ron Westray . He received his Bachelors in Trombone Performance from the University of Texas at Arlington and his Masters in Jazz Studies from Florida State University where he studied under accomplished Woody Herman alum, Paul McKee.

Brandon Moodie (Bass Trombone) a native of San Antonio, Texas, studied music at the University of North Texas, where he spent three years touring and recording with the renowned UNT One O’clock Lab Band. While in the Dallas area, Brandon began an active freelance career, including tours with The Jivin’ Lindy Hoppers, Maureen McGovern, John Pizzarelli, and the Artie Shaw Orchestra. Brandon relocated to New York City in 2008, where he currently performs with a wide variety of groups on bass trombone, tenor trombone, contrabass trombone, and tuba. This is his ninth year as bass trombonist with IN THE MOOD. PRODUCTION TEAM Tony Tambasco (Production Manager/ Lighting Director) is thrilled to join In the Mood for the 2015 tour. Originally from upstate New York, Tony holds undergraduate degrees in Theatre, English, and Computer Science from the State University of New York College at Potsdam, and a Master of Letters in Shakespeare an Performance and an MFA in Directing from the American Shakespeare Center’s partner program with Mary Baldwin college. He has most recently toured with the nonEquity national tour of Sweet Charity, but has also toured regionally with a number of companies. When not on the road, Tony works to give new life to the earliest editions of Shakespearean plays as the artistic director of Bad Quarto Productions, a theatre company devoted to exploring the dingy corners of Shakespearean texts. You can learn more about Tony’s work at www.TonyTambasco.com Rachelle Hough (Sound Engineer) hails from Holt, Michigan and received her degree in Technical Theater and Applied Sciences from Lansing Community College in Lansing, Michigan. After “growing up” and “running away” she has just completed a tour year run with the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus as a Sound Front of House and Monitor Technician. Over this past summer, Rachelle was the Lead Audio Technician at the Interlochen Center for the Arts in Interlochen, Michigan. And over the years she has worked in various positions in audio, lighting and rigging.


This is Rachelle’s second touring year with IN THE MOOD after just completing a tour of Cirque Dreams. Molly Walz (Wardrobe Supervisor) is a native of Dayton, OH. She is currently based in Orlando, FL and holds a degree in costume design/technology with a minor in history from Kent State University. Since moving to Orlando, Molly has designed/ constructed costumes and styled wigs for The Orlando Shakespeare Theatre, Beth Marshall Presents and the Garden Theatre, in addition to being the fulltime costume shop manager at Orlando Repertory Theatre. Past companies in the Midwest/Northeast include The Human Race Theatre Company, Cortland Repertory Theatre, The College Light Opera Company, Allenberry Playhouse, and Glimmerglass Opera, among others. Molly is grateful to be one of the lucky few that gets to make theatre for a living. MollyWalz.com Liz Shapiro (Company Manager) has a MFA in Lighting Design from the University of Connecticut. She has toured the world with various dance and theater companies. Liz just finished touring with Moscow Ballet’s The Great Russian Nutcraker. After living in Aspen for the past 9 years Liz is happy to be moving to Charlottesville, VA with her husband and cat. This is her first tour with IN THE MOOD and Liz is very excited to be part of this amazing company. CREATIVE TEAM Bud Forrest (Creator, Producer, Music Director) is a former Juilliard student who earned his B.S. degree from Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY and did graduate work in music at Catholic University in Washington, DC. He was accompanist to the world famous “Singing Sergeants”, the official chorus of the United States Air Force. Throughout his thirty years in Washington, DC he had been pianist for events at many of Washington, DC’s political events including performances at the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives and the Smithsonian Institution. In addition, Bud was a pianist for touring Broadway shows appearing in the Washington, DC

In 1997, Bud and his String of Pearls Orchestra were featured at an Inaugural Ball for President and Mrs. Clinton. Now celebrating the 21st year of touring, Bud and IN THE MOOD are looking forward to many more years of bringing the best decade of 20th century American popular music—the 1940s and the Big Band era to fans worldwide. Alex Sanchez (Stage Director/ recently co Choreographer) choreographed the new Off Broadway musical Red Eye Of Love for Amas Musical Theater at the DiCapo Theatre. Other productions choreographed includes: Far From Heaven at Playwrights Horizon New York. Fiorello for The New York City Center Encores!, the new musical Giant at The Public Theater,(Lucille Lortel Award Nomination for best choreography), New York City Center Encores! production of Where’s Charley? (Tina Award Nomination for Best Choreography New York Off Broadway), the world premiere of Far From Heaven at Williamstown Theater Festival. He also choreographed the new musical production of Roman Holiday at the Guthrie Theater. Other recent choreography: On The Town for The Marriott Theatre. A Little Night Music for The Berkshire Theater Group. 42nd Street for the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Broadway World Toronto 2012 Award for Best Choreography). Giant, for the Dallas Theater Center. The Chicago Shakespeare Theater’s production of Follies,( Broadway World Chicago 2011 Award for Best Choreography and Jefferson Award Nomination Best Choreography). The St. Louis Muny’s production of Aladdin, and The Little Mermaid). Stage Directors And Choreographers Dancebreak 2010 Alumni. As a performer Alex has spent 14 years in New York, performing in over 10 Broadway shows, five City Center Encores productions and countless regional theaters. He spent the first ten years of his career as a concert ballet dancer and

Vic Schoen (Arranger) was an icon of Hollywood. It is impossible to list all his credits but they do include being the arranger/conductor for over 20 years for the Andrews Sisters. He was music director for Paramount and Universal Pictures. Vic scored Road to Morocco with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby and The Inspector General and The Court Jester with Danny Kaye. Television specials include those of Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Andy Williams, Ethel Merman, Shirley MacLaine, Perry Como, Maurice Chevalier and Pat Boone. He was the arranger/conductor for the Dinah Shore television series for 3 years. Vic arranged/conducted all of Patti Page’s hit recordings. Other collaborations include Ella Fitzgerald, Al Jolson, Dick Haymes, Betty Hutton, Carmen Miranda, Mel Torme and Eddie Fisher. He was an arranger for many of the famous big bands including Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Benny Goodman and Les Brown. A number of the music arrangements for IN THE MOOD are from the pen of Vic and we are very proud to carry on his great tradition as we dedicate each performance to his memory.

Linda Tomlin (Costumes) since 2000, has worked with IN THE MOOD as Costume Designer. Through the lens of historic materials and early Vogue publications, she has brought the memory of the 1930’s and 1940’s to the show. Originally from New England, Linda has spent most of her life in California. Currently residing in Virginia, she is wife to Bud Forrest, creator of IN THE MOOD. Linda’s passion for design includes costumes, period textiles, restoration & conservation , fine linen, and needlework. She is president of her own company, Details In Design, LLC specializing in fine hand embroidered linens for churches and the home décor industry. Most recently Linda has started the Williamsburg School of Needlework dedicated to teaching hand embroidery to help students start their own businesses.

David Bandman (Arranger) a native of Waukegan, IL, David is a graduate of The University of North Texas where he played trombone in the premier One O’Clock Lab Band. As a euphonium player he was the winner of the first ITEC (then TUBA) international jazz euphonium competition. David is a composer/ arranger for the Big Apple Circus in New York City and for the world traveled IN THE MOOD. He has written dozens of big band charts that are being played in high schools and colleges all over the country. David is retired from The United States Air Force Band, Washington D.C. where he played trombone and euphonium and is now a freelance musician, writer and teacher. He has recently released his first highly acclaimed jazz euphonium CD Can I Play Too where he arranged the music of
