Carrie Cullen Grade 12, Jefferson Township High School - Nominated by Rich Barries Carrie Cullen plays principal cello for the Jefferson Township High School Pit Orchestra and this year was selected to play in our Spring Musical production of “Disney’s Beauty and the Beat” alongside professional musicians. Carrie also plays string bass and cello in our Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble. Furthering her remarkable music accomplishments, Carrie also plays electric bass in both our JTHS Jazz Band and JTHS Gold Falcons Marching Band. Her talent and commitment to music is outstanding- as evidenced in her membership for all four of her high school years in each of the aforementioned music groups. To round out her resume, Carrie is our Tri M Music Honor Society Chapter President. Carrie is an exceptional scholar musician-she is also a member of the German Honor Society and NHS. She is one of the top 20 students in the Senior Class! Joanna Duwel Grade 10, Morristown High School - Nominated by Normal Davis Joanna is a dedicated member of the Morristown High School Orchestra, where she is a leader in the cello section. In addition, Joanna has played the cello in the pit orchestras for the musicals at MHS, Frelinghuysen Middle School, and Delbarton School. She is a member of the Abbey Orchestra, and studies cello with Amy Butler-Visscher. She is a member of the select string ensemble at school and has performed for numerous school functions and community events. She is also a member of the Marching Colonials, Choir, and Jazz Choir. Joanna is a hard worker who has a deep love of music. She happily volunteers for all musical opportunities and performs on the cello with joy and enthusiasm, giving one hundred percent in every rehearsal. Joanna is a truly excellent orchestra student and I am happy to nominate her for student of the month - Outstanding String Player/Orchestra Member. Ryan Mak Grade 11, Madison High School - Nominated by Michael Silvestri Ryan is a junior cellist who was selected for the Northern New Jersey High School Region Orchestra for the second year in a row and was also selected for the NJ All-State Orchestra. Ryan is also a member of our select string group the “Nonet” that performs outside of school and in school concerts. The “Nonet” performs many chamber pieces and more challenging material than our regular orchestra program. Ryan also studies privately and has studied cello privately for many years. Ryan is also a good natured and pleasant young student who is a pleasure to work with and will accomplish great things in his future as a cellist. Patrick Martin Grade 8, Mountain View Middle School - Nominated by William Alzaher Patrick has been playing violin for 8 years and is a very dedicated member of our orchestra. He an 8th grader who plays in our school orchestra and chamber orchestra. He’s done numerous solos and duets within our orchestra, in collaboration with our choirs, and this year, at our district strings concert. He has performed at our school talent show and studies violin privately. Patrick also participates in Brookside orchestra each summer and is arranging a piece himself for cello and violin to perform at our spring concert.

Tiago Neto Grade 11, West Morris Central High School- Nominated by Carol Meiseles Tiago Neto is the principal cellist of the school Orchestra and Baroque Orchestra. As principal cellist, he leads his section with confidence and a high level of technique and musicianship, which has earned him the respect of fellow Orchestra members. He has also performed solos with both ensembles. Tiago is very dedicated to music, and also plays in the community orchestra, Stone Soup Symphony. His string quartet, which is student-run, has performed at numerous community and school events, including Mayo Community Theatre’s Spring Fund Raiser. Gabriell Parroco Grade 8, Copeland Middle School- Nominated by Ardith Collins Gabrielle Parroco is an 8th grade violinist at Copeland Middle School. She is an outstanding musician and student. Gabbi has played violin in Rockaway Township Schools since 4th Grade, and has been a member of the Copeland String Ensemble for three years. At Copeland, Gabbi is an all-around excellent student, and is in Honors Math. Outside of school, Gabbi has played tennis since she was 8, and hopes to play on the tennis team for Morris Hills High School next year. In addition to violin, Gabbi has played the piano since the age of 6. Gabbi is also a member of her church youth group, and participates in service projects for the community. Gabrielle is a focused, determined student who always strives for perfection in her playing. She is a quiet leader, who is well respected by her peers. Gabbi is a valuable member of the first violin section of the Copeland String Ensemble, whose talent and hard work will be missed as she graduates to high school. Gabrielle Parroco is a student deserving of the title “Outstanding String Player”. Kristina Schaberg Grade 12, Morristown High School- Nominated by Mary Daly Kristina has performed with the MHS String Orchestra for four years. She has been our first chair cellist since her sophomore year. Kristina is a very musical cellist. She is also a very responsible student. Kristina helps out in numerous ways to assist me and the MHS String Orchestra. Her involvement includes: Running cello sectionals and cello lessons, Cellist in Select Strings Ensemble and Cabaret Night String Ensemble; Attendance taker, NJSMA Region HS Orchestra participant. Kristina is so also a very caring individual. Her cello section thinks the world of her as do the other students in the class. I would love to thank Kristina for all the dedication and love of music she has graced us with. Joanna Snyder Grade 11, Randolph High School- Nominated by David Imhoff Joanna leads by example for her bass colleagues and is very involved in the music department in many areas. She is the principal bassist in both the select string ensemble Arietta and the Chamber Strings. She also is the bassist for RHS Jazz Ensemble I. Outside of school, Joanna has been a member of the North Jersey Region Orchestra for the past three years. While being a solid student at Randolph High School, she is also involved in sports such as fencing. She studies privately with Linda McKnight and in Randolph with the orchestra director Eric Schaberg. Joanna has consistently improved her individual performance skills over her three years in R.H.S. and she looks forward in leading the Bass Section in her Senior year at R.H.S.
