ALICE DINNEAN (voice of Gabriela) has been performing puppets, voices, animatronics, and digital characters for the Jim Henson Company since 1993, when she joined the cast of “Sesame Street” in its 25th season. A native of Oakland, California, Alice began her puppetry career at Children’s Fairyland, then headed to Oberlin College in Ohio, where she studied art, music, and theater. An internship at the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, Georgia cemented her career path; within a year, Alice was meeting puppeteers from all over the world, attending conferences, and writing for the Puppetry Journal, as well as learning the beginnings of the Henson style of puppetry. Credits: Ten seasons of “Sesame Street”, the preschool shows “The Puzzle Place” and “Jack’s Big Music Show”, the feature films “The Country Bears”, “Team America: World Police”, and “The Muppets”, and some not-for-kids work on shows including “Crank Yankers”, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Angel,” “Community,” and “Glee.” Her work on “Sid the Science Kid” has been one of the most rewarding and challenging projects she’s taken on: the use of digital motion-capture puppetry, as well as the close collaboration with the rest of the cast, has made “Sid” a unique and joyful addition to Alice’s body of work. DREW MASSEY (voice of Sid) is an actor, puppeteer, and voice-over artist for whom the sciences hold a special place in his heart. When he was fifteen, he co-wrote and illustrated a comic book for a government laboratory that explained the inner workings of their laser fusion facility. He was on his way to a degree in industrial design before getting the call to participate in a Jim Henson Company training workshop under master puppeteers Brian Henson and Kevin Clash. After that, his career path was set. Film credits include Batman Returns, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, The Hangover, The Flintstones, Men In Black, Muppets From Space, The Producers, Doctor Dolittle, and Team America: World Police, among others. Drew has also performed on many TV series, including “Malcolm in the Middle,” “Muppets Tonight,” “Cousin Skeeter,” “Crank Yankers,” “Community,” “Greg the Bunny” (Count Blah), “Angel” (puppet Angel), and in commercials for Foster Farms, Radio Shack, Sony, and Levi’s. Drew stars as Sid in the PBS television series “Sid the Science Kid” and is a core member of the Jim Henson Company’s “Puppet Up: Uncensored” improv comedy troupe. When he is not puppeteering,
he is hard at work writing and drawing for comics and animated television shows. He is a habitual doodler, and has trouble accepting that candy is a “sometimes food.”
