SITE AREA : 20,277 sq.m (5 Acres)

The design process of the school commenced with explorations of forms and geometry that can be relatable for its small occupants . The entire spatial planning induces a sense of play with split courtyards and a central tree that exist on site .

This brings nature,part of the built , atmosphere , alongside the earthy colour palette . Sandpit , playing courts are splayed across the design and the concrete shell roof dramatizes the experience for the kids.

DESIGN CONCEPT

The concept of pupil is used for the form of the structure as well as planning with a traditional touch to it.

FORM DEVELOPMENT
The linear tiered floors in the centre of the building creates a SEMI-SECLUDED zone for the kids to eat below and perform academic reading on the upper tier, overlooking the SPLIT COURTYARDS , while hearing the rustling of the LANDSCAPE. CORRIDOR connecting two halves. LIBRARY with EXPOSED BRICK walls. SUNKEN GREEN PLAZA act as reading lounge for kids.

Abstracting the essence OF ‘METAPHYSICAL MOVEMENT’ into a participatory installation showcasing a different perception of reality.

Designed to create PLACE MAKING POINTS throughout the site that creates unified contextually rooted experience.

Elements JUXTAPOSED with the notion of MODERNITY ESSENCE.

THE UNVEILED

THE UNVEILED is a project intented to throw light on the shoreline route of Mahabalipuram . This is a RESORT design with the site based in coastline. This design is infused with culture , architectural identity , a rich source that stems from the collective memory of the people of tidal line , and the long standing traditions that they uphold even present .

WThis design is also planned to be an experience that redefines the past of wildlife rich area which was the main administrative and historical valued zone , cultural, political,trade and HANDICRAFT centre of the ESTUARIAL.

THE UNVEILED

That boasts of the rich heritage and trade history Mahabalipuram.

THE ROOF OF EACH CABANA IS ANCHORED FIRMLY INTO THE GROUND AND CONNECTED SEAMLESSLY TO ITS NEIGHBOR . THE STURDY FOUNDATION CONNECTS THE EARTH AND ALSO ADDS A SOLID YET FLOWING STRUCTURAL COMPONENT.

The existing Gyahegi - certified shopping and leisure complex is a development of over 165,000m² comprising retail space, restaurants and leisure areas over three levels, as well as three underground parking floors.

The internal area is supplemented by several outdoor terraces, which provide breathtaking views of the surroundings.

The building was envisaged as a series of juxtaposed diagonal malls, each with distinct themes, building systems and material palettes.

Abundant greenery is used throughout, both externally and internally. There are also publicly accessible, landscaped roof spaces and terraces.

The refurbishment has been designed to align with the striking interiors reimagined for a new decade, including the foodcourt area, seating, playground and toilets.

THE ALTURA

TRANSPARENCY , the concept for the design was transperency and an urban dialog with the city.Transperency is translated by the monumental vault,constructed of glass and an exposed brick,creating a building with facade of glass ,relying on the roof for the shelter and the building’s identity.

INTEGRATION , the glazed ,transparent roof lets plenty of natural light in, throughout the day and its slightly tinted to provide protection from the sun’s harshest rays,to make integration between interior and around environment.

FLUID MOVEMENT , the use of curvy movements in the site to be similar of the air movement of high speed train and helping to decrease the amount of load by reticence the column and make the public concourse clear.
