This is installation design project aims to create interaction. The giant couch like sea-saw structure is set on a formal settings bringing a informal environment. It attracts people to sit on certain spots in different groups. Single, couple or a group of people have their own places to experience the structure and when they sit it tends to go down because of weight & gravity. When another people sit on the other side, it acts as a sea-saw and help start an interaction among the users. If one has to go out, the person is going to say the others that ‘I am leaving, it is gonna go up!’ , thus leaving a smile. Intimacy can create interaction!

Other than the programmatic solutions, we worked on an experimentation of moorish architecture with which the client is personally fascinated. We tried to come up with an experimental outlook in this project which will express an aristocracy of the clients living style.

I was assigned as a project architect in Anis Residence project after schematic deign phase to move on with design development, authority drawings and construction drawings. In this project, I have a scope to work with Professor Khaleed Ashraf of University of Hawaii, who worked intensively with Ar. Ehsan Khan in this project. Anis residence project is a residential project for an extended family which consists of Mr. & Mrs Anis, their parents and their two teenage sons. The requirement of the projects was to design an luxury family residence with a traditional theme which shows aristocracy and elegance of the multi-national company owner Mr. Anis Ahmed and his family. The program consists of requirement for guests gathering and party space in the ground. A floor for clients himself, his parents and his son’s where they will live in the same floor. When their sons get married, they will have their own floors to move. Level 3 & 4 are designed so to accommodate facilities for two nuclear families for the future. The residence will have a upper floor with gymnasium, theater and galley space facilities for the family and their guests entertainment.

Concept & design development, presentation, construction & furniture drawings, co-ordination, site supervision
The Barista Lavazza Chain of Cafés, an Italian Café Chain began its operations in Bangladesh in the year 2007. Barista’s entrance added a new element to the Bangladeshi coffee scene, which had just began to understand and appreciate the richness of brewed coffee. Barista delivers a truly Italian coffee experience in a warm, friendly and relaxed environment and it opens its premium coffee lounge in the country’s busiest international airport for the travelers.

Barista Lavazza at airport project was initiated with mind to introduce a premium coffee shop for the airlines travelers in a highly expensive rent area of international airport of Dhaka. It has only 500sft area of lease and the operation was lunched to serve as many customers in a quality customer. The project was started with 12 seating capacity to end up with 36 seating capacity. In design, we tried to design a premium lounge which should distinguish the customers inside from the general departure lounge and at the same time create a transparency while inviting other customers to experience inside. Vertical oak wood screen was at the front and also a oak wood screened ceiling was inside to create a sense of volume for the customers. we tried to introduce different sets of seating arrangements from cozy sofa & tub chair seating to rapid bar tool type seating. People can have the option to seat in a group or seat individually. It has richness in using furniture material from red oak wood to local manufactured leather. The lounge has also a playfulness of lighting. In the program, it has an open kitchen where options for making coffee and sandwiches were kept. Customizable cabinet for kitchen and seating for the lounge were designed and manufactured for this specific project. The whole project was completed in a constrain time span of 3 months from design development to getting approval to the site construction and completion.
