Canada India
Canada. Your Partner in Coproduction. Coproductions are a key component of Canada’s audiovisual industry. Between 2008 and 2013, 381 coproductions (125 films and 256 TV programs) were produced, with a total average annual budget of $481M and an average Canadian share of $233M.
Why Coproduce with Canada? Advantages An audiovisual treaty coproduction is a national production in the coproducing countries. So, in Canada, Canadian producers have access to the same Canadian financing sources as a domestic production. Shared risks (financing and budget). Access to greater distribution networks and to a larger pool of creators and technicians. If you wish to produce an international coproduction, participate in a coventure or simply take advantage of the professionalism of Canadian crews and post-production facilities, within a spectacular and remarkably nuanced geography and climate, Canada is your destination of choice! telefilm.ca/partnering-with-canada

Clinik scripts a trip to Cinemart BY NANDITA DUTTA
Clinik, the Kathmandubased script and project development lab for South Asian film-makers, has partnered with Cinemart for its 2015 edition. The lab will be held April 10-17, 2015, followed by four months of mentoring by international collaborators
and mentors based in the film-makers’ home countries. At the end of the mentoring process, writers will submit the first draft of their screenplay and a project plan to Clinik, which will then select a ‘Clinik Recommends’ list. Rotterdam Lab, a training workshop for producers at Cinemart, will
select some of the projects for its 2016 edition From 2015, Clinik is open to film-makers from Bhutan, Maldives and the northeast states of India, in addition to existing countries Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. “Many South Asian film-
makers go into co-production markets without testing if they have the needed parameters in place. Clinik is a platform for them to reflect strongly about the components of their project,” said Clinik founder Kshitiz Adhiraj. Clinik already has partnerships with Film Bazaar’s Co-production Market, NFDC Labs and Hong KongAsia Film Financing Forum.
