Essays on Consciousness
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
I share feelings of gratitude, splendor, and even grace, in short a feeling of joy, for all the beings who are part of our Existence, and who help us to plant flowers in our garden and enjoy, together with us, the attraction of the butterflies, enhancing our consciousness, and encouraging us, in our daily activities to live in a religious manner.

Essays on Consciousness
FOREWORD Every human being is possessed by the Breathing Energy of Consciousness, which in turn makes itself breathe. LOVE is the DIVINE LIFE CREATOR’s breath of plenty, in the breathing of every existing being. The PRESENCE is the DIVINE pulsating music in each and every cell of the human body. Every human being has the Life of God within oneself that makes him/her exist, breathe and live. God is the Life of existence within all human existence. To speak of consciousness also means talking about the possibility of opening the view that sees the LIFE of GOD as the life of the existence itself and that of every human being. Act the LIGHT of CONSCIOUSNESS and see the LIGHT of CONSCIOUSNESS: this is the central axis of Maribel Barreto’s book Essays on Consciousness, which challenges the reader to dive into the ocean of the LIFE CREATOR PRESENCE itself. Grounded in Jair Tércio’s understanding that consciousness is GOD’s presence in us, the author reveals that consciousness is LIFE CREATOR gushing, 9

uninterruptedly, in the existence of all human beings and of all other life forms in all parts our planet Earth and of other planets in our galaxy and other galaxies and other worlds of all the universes. Maribel Barreto falls under the same saga of mystical and academic writers such as Alice Bailey, Simone Weil, Mary Baker Eddy, Vimala Thakar, and Annie Besant, among others. In her experiential researches on consciousness, also applied in her service as an educator in basic education, undergraduate and graduate studies, she points out that: Consciousness is the potential energy of the Human Being, who lives in it, in a state of latency, awaiting only the moment to be awakened, constructed and/or developed to drive it, even to self-integration, to enlightenment, and finally, to liberation.
Maribel Barreto’s mystical vocation as an educator for the revelation of CONSCIOUSNESS’ absolute reality as DIVINE LIFE CREATOR pulsating in human existence, made it possible for her not only to create the “conscientiology” discipline but to insert 10

it as well as in the curriculum of all levels of basic education and all undergraduate courses, and insert it into several graduation courses both latu and strictu sensu. In her book Essays on Consciousness the author states that: Dealing with the purpose of consciousness predicts dealing with Life. After all, as there is no life without consciousness, there is no consciousness without life. It is worth considering that, as indicated by the reflection suggested by Costa (2009), the purpose of consciousness is also to reflect the existence as a whole, but from ourselves as a starting point. And it is not possible to proceed thus without checking, in oneself, that consciousness is one of the fundamental innate faculties of the Human Being that enables him/herself to know the Universe and its Primary Cause Outside freedom one cannot reach consciousness and outside consciousness faith cannot be attained.
I see that each chapter of this book, written by the educator Maribel, features precious synthesis-drops from the ocean of revelation that CONSCIOUSNESS is 11

Essays on Consciousness
INTRODUCTION “Besides God, our conscience is our greatest witness”. (JAIR TÉRCIO)
Essays on Consciousness refers to a work that has as its “object” the reflection on Consciousness itself, addressing from the perspective of experience, the object’s purpose, justification, rationale, method, resources and sources related to Consciousness, as the basis for the understanding of its real and significant value in our day to day interactions. Its “objective” is to help the Human Being in its awakening, construction and/or development of the Consciousness, as a human resource of the highest priority to the understanding of reality. This work has as its “justification” the fact that consciousness is considered to be one of the most important faculties of the Human Being favoring direct perception; correct understanding; selfintegration; self-knowledge; self-transformation, selfdevelopment, and therefore, complete experience, in

other words, self-realization, enlightenment. As “rationale”, among many that guide this work, we refer to Consciousness as that inner strength possessed by the Human Being which impels him/ her to externalize it in the form of action, for the appropriate end, as its raison d’être. In this sense, it is guided in the direction of sensitizing, awakening and bringing upon the rebirth of the Human Being towards its true state of Being. With regard to the “method”, it demonstrates, according to the fundaments of scientific methodology, the whole which involves Consciousness, because, no Human Being can avoid what it is, what it can come to be or what it should be. This book contains as its “resources”, articles organized in the form of reflections from different authors, parables and stories highlighting the moral, ethical and aesthetic elevated values, that point out to consciousness as well as commented quotes for each of the items of connecter with our scientific methodology. 14

The “source” of this work is grounded in our personal, professional and spiritual experiences, the experiences acquired with our spiritual father and master Jair Tércio, as well as the feelings, thoughts and/ or actions shared from other authors, with approaches which include knowledge of scientific, philosophical and/or religious fields, extolling the maxim that within ourselves all the resources that exist in the Universe are present; this is so because the Human Being is the measure of the Universe in itself. Finally, we summarize that Essays on Consciousness contemplates our previous trials designed to show the practical utility of consciousness in existence, considering it as the only knowledge that favors the Human Being to deal with the issues of existence, because life always makes us live the life that must be lived. Perhaps I have, on this occasion, communicated well what it, the Consciousness, is, as I understand it to be and as it communicates itself to me. The Writer

“Our consciousness is directly proportional to our degree of reason, and goes beyond it”. (JAIR TÉRCIO)
Reason does not refuse to accept the theory that Consciousness is the human faculty which serves as the basis to compare, judge and/or enjoy the Whole. As a whole the consciousness, indicates that it is and has everything; that everything is made of everything, and everything is made of the same. Thus we are invited to reflect that both the Universe and the Human Beings are governed by the same Universal Laws, those that lie in the Consciousness of the ultimate, its largest conscious representation in this very same Universe, propelling it to perform a task for the whole of the Universe which is in him/her. Considering the reason for our existence, it gives us independence, which mimics the evolution that propels us, allowing us to become integrated with ourselves, with our neighbors, with the environment and, consequently with the Creator inseparable from us. Thus the reason is Consciousness itself. It is therefore a Potency everywhere, waiting 18

solely for the favorable occasion to emerge, and once manifested, to operate its purpose until the end. “Consciousness is an undoubted fact, a primordial reality and a fact, neither secondary nor casual, of enormous importance” (TUNES and SIMÃO)
Consciousness importance is due to the fact that it enables us to know the Universe and its Absolute Cause; as well as to seek other realities yet unknown to us, encouraging ourselves to act tirelessly in their pursuit, as well as to dig as deep as possible; to fly as high as possible; to inflame ourselves as intensely as possible; and to dive as deep as possible; all this within, for and parting from us. This search is everyone’s, but especially for those who, by virtue of having achieved a significant degree of intelligence, have attained the exact realization of the soul, of the consciousness and of the Natural Law, to your conscious abbreviated evolution. These beings live a profound life, aiming at internal purposes, that favor the Being; far from the possibility of a shallow life, which seeks external purposes, favoring material 19

possessions and the problems. In this sense, consciousness calls us to enter the vastness things, simple and profound, for only thus we can, in the same manner, justify the fact that human beings are still so shallow. “There in the bottom of our souls there is an innate precipice of justice and virtue with which we judge our actions and those of others as good or bad; and it is this principle that I call consciousness.” (JEANJACQUES ROUSSEAU)
It is through consciousness that we can see the actor’s actions and intentions, including his good side. After all, evil does not exist as a cause in the Universe. In it all is good; everything is well; because everything ends well. Evolution is the clear proof of this. Now, in this process evolution, the opportunity for vices to be moralized in humans, i.e. to be transformed in virtues, appears through knowledge, recollection and the observance of the Natural Laws governing the Universe, which lies in its Consciousness In this sense, we must build our own destiny, with our Consciousness as our first and last judge, for only 20

the Natural Laws, provided by God and governing the universe have the right to judge Consciousness as a whole, because, since the Human Beings govern their relations according to their Materials Laws; God, by his Universal Laws govern the Universal relationships, after all, He does not play cards, dice nor ludo. The parable tells us that (COSTA, 2009, p. 46): Some unintelligent Human Beings, cognizant of the Enlightened One’s work for humanity, sought to find it, and purposely, very bravely, questioned Him: - What are you doing here? And they heard from the Enlightened One: - Expanding the consciousness of humanity. - Expanding what? They asked. Hence the Enlightened One replied: - You have been taught that God will not ask a Human Being to which race he/she belongs to; He shall ask what he/she did. They also have told you that God will reward each one according to one’s works. They also taught you that no Brahmin is born a Brahmin; no pariah is born a pariah; a pariah is a pariah by his own actions; a Brahmin is a Brahmin by his own actions. You have learned that actions speak louder than words. You have also learned that an hour of

good deeds in this world is better than a lifetime in the world to come. You have learned that God does not take into account your forms and possessions, but your heart and works. However, through understanding I say that you live in a world of causalities; in it a human being is not judged, but by his actions and by his works, better still, by his intentions; and that if his intention is good then his work is good; and if his intention is evil then his work is evil.
May the consciousness lead us to always live with good intentions, supported by common sense and by reason, after all, good feelings, good sense, good intention and reason, the exact notion of ethics, aesthetics and high moral values as well as the exact notion of the soul, of the Consciousness and of the Natural Law are synonymous. The story tells us (COSTA, 2012, p. 32): Consciousness is the presence of God in us. AronĂ, a religious master who lived in the Chapada Diamantina region of Bahia, and who aimed for enlightenment, was a student of all enlightened sciences. He built along with his disciples a Shrine of Light in the Morro dos Gerais, in the municipality of PiatĂŁ. While he taught his apprentices about

the importance of knowing how to work with rough stones, such Master carried the larger and heavier ones in order to preserve them. Hence one of his disciples pointed: - Master you have already attained enlightenment; You do not need to carry these stones for the construction of these sanctuaries. Let us do it for the you. We are here for that. And heard the following reply: - And you know for whom I am building these sanctuaries? And the apprentice answered: - For us and others who may be here in due course, Master. And the Master continued: - Exactly! Therefore, to God. Because now everything, especially everyone is God to me.
Perhaps Consciousness makes us search for, find and keep what we are in essence, for the fact that, to the same extent that we turn in to consciousness it turns back to us, enabling us to find the path that goes within, and beyond what is verifiable. The large icons of humanity are clear evidence of this. Etymologically, the word ‘consciousness’ refers to a highly developed attribute in humans, by which man walks, in relation to the world and to its inner 23

states, the distance that creates the possibility of higher levels of integration ‘knowledge, notion, idea’. Latin: conscientia. ‘Being conscious (of something)’ (CUNHA, 2010, p. 173). It can be said that consciousness is related to the discovery or recognition of something either from the exterior, as an object, a reality a situation etc., or something within, as the changes undergone by the self; knowledge of good and evil. The sociologist Camargo (2010, p 2) points out to three directions of consciousness: psychological, epistemological and metaphysical and thus expressed: In psychological sense, consciousness is the perception of the self by oneself, this is the most known concept. In the epistemological sense, consciousness is primarily the subject of knowledge. In metaphysical terms, we often call consciousness the Self.
Consciousness, according to this view, involves subjectivity, self-awareness and the ability to perceive the relationship between self and other; Being a psychic quality, and an attribute of the spirit. 24

According to Neumann (2008, p. 220), there are scientific reasons to consider the conscience of the experimental organs of life, which is more justifiable, in any case, than to set aside the fundamental factor of human spiritual existence and relegate it to the field of reflexology or behaviorism. For Velmans (1997) consciousness is a term with several synonyms: attention and the state of attention, the ‘content of consciousness’ and self-awareness. “Thus, the problem of psychological research lies in not been limited to the study of phenomena and processes on the surface of consciousness but in penetrating into its internal structure”. Therefore, consciousness must be considered as a specific internal movement, generated by human activity. Corroborating with this understanding Minsky (1991) gives the term ‘consciousness’ the meaning of the organization of different ways to know what happens inside the mind, the body and the outside world. Penrose (1999) argues that consciousness is a 25

feature of quantum brain action not been able to be simulated in computer. And Goswami, goes further and shows: “Awareness must be a different identity from the brain, in order to produce a causal effect on it. It belongs to a separate world, out of the material body.” (GOSVAMI, 2008, p.155). Let’s consider the analogy cited by Ferguson (2007) that leads us beyond the brain, beyond the present time and our own body: A healthy consciousness is like a spider web and you the spider in the center. The center of the web is the present moment. But the significance of our life depends on those thin wires extending to other times, other places and the vibrations across the web (Wilson, 1978 cited FERGUSON, 2007, p. 204).
According to this idea, it is easy to understand the hypothesis elaborated by Leon (1995) that consciousness would be a natural property similar to life, as it arose from evolutionary processes. Parting from Chalmers’s work (1996), many contemporary researchers came to the understanding 26

that consciousness includes, besides the process that generates the waking consciousness, also the experience of a phenomenal world or a ‘how it is to feel in such a situation’ characterizing the so-called ‘first person perspective’ or the ‘subjective aspect’ of conscious experience. In this case, we have a subjectivist theory of consciousness, defended by Searle (1998), which is based on the idea that our states of consciousness (sensory experiences, thoughts, etc.) are inherently subjective states and therefore in this respect irreducible to any definition and scientific explanation Consciousness, therefore, is constituted by different phenomena, which need to be completely detailed in order to reach an increasingly elaborated final explanation. According to Chalmers (2003) in his researches on consciousness, some of the phenomena of consciousness are easier to describe, using current scientific methods, others, on the other hand, are classified as difficult, since they cannot be explained by these types of methods. They require a new scientific vision for its solution. He has been persistent in seeking 27

to unravel this most difficult sense of consciousness. In this quest for the understanding of the whole of consciousness Di Biase (2005) shows clearly that matter, life and consciousness are therefore not separate entities, but a “holistic indivisible unit, an intelligent holo-informational, self-organizing continuum, permeating the entire universe and unfolding in an infinite cosmic holo-archy “(DI BIASE, 2005, p.7). Thus we can demonstrate, after analysis of different, but complementary, researchers regarding the object of consciousness that such an understanding is, even though simple, vast and deep. And that should be the object of our search, although it seems to simultaneously traverse a more extensive and strenuous desert; climb down a very deep and more than terrifying abyss; climb a very high and more than intimidating mountain. However, such knowledge, the knowledge of consciousness is undeniable, inevitable and self-sustaining, because the truth, including of ourselves, not only proposes but also imposes to be understood, for the appropriate end. 28

“Consciousness is one of the capital innate faculties of the Human Being and among its purpose is the reflection of Existence as a whole”. (JAIR TÉRCIO)
Dealing with the purpose of consciousness predicates dealing with Life. After all, as there is no life without consciousness, there is no consciousness without life. It is worth considering that, as indicated by Costa (2009), the purpose of consciousness is also to reflect on the existence as a whole, but from our perspective as a starting point. It is not possible to proceed without checking, in oneself, that consciousness is one of the fundamental innate faculties of the Human Being enabling us to know the Universe and its Primary Cause It is not difficult to realize that only when we understand something, we can reflect significantly about it; one cannot understand if not through the whole, therefore in the universe there is, in essence, no fragmentation; so even the parts contain, in it, the Whole of Life; after all, everything is composed

everything; everything is composed of everything and of the same. So if we want to understand it is necessary to align ourselves to the point of seeing the integration of the parts which come into this equation. Here is another role of Consciousness: to show us that we already know the Existence, which tells us that in the Universe there is no room for disintegration, because for that which is Real there is only infinity, timelessness, totalization. Thus we can be prepared to reflect it in our individual conduct. Therefore, it is also part of it to help the Human Being to gain confidence, conviction and certainty with respect to life, to be able to live and die well, according to the Laws in which it rests. “What is consciousness’ real contribution? The answer is an obvious range of obvious and not so obvious advantages in the management of life”. (ANTÓNIO DAMÁSIO)

the form of action, that generates and/or maintains the dynamic balance, imitating Creation. It is the strength of the Human Being that allows it - as it did with the Enlightened Ones, great teachers of mankind - to voluntarily go into exile, meditate and silence, conscious and aware, to hear everything that is the Causal Source. The Source of which everything has been said and everyone has heard, though nothing has been spoken It does not require much to understand that consciousness is much more than that what it does; and it can be said that it is the potential energy of the Human Being, and lives in it in a state of latency, awaiting only proper the moment to be awakened, constructed and/or developed to impel it, including towards self-integration, enlightenment and finally, liberation. Outside freedom one cannot reach consciousness and outside consciousness faith cannot be attained. This considered, we can say that it is demonstrably true the theory that intelligence plays an important role in this process, because outside of it is not 32

possible to attain the truth; outside of this freedom cannot be achieved; Outside freedom one cannot reach consciousness and outside consciousness faith cannot be attained.
When the human being uses its forces with control, such as reflection, concentration, meditation, vibration, perception, contemplation and exaltation, producing mindfulness to any object and/or phenomenon, it will access the incorruptible realm of the thing in itself, as it manifests just as it is. This is the consciousness and awakened science. (JEFERSON FREIRE)
For the human being, harmonious states of consciousness, such as reflection, concentration, meditation, vibration, perception, contemplation and exaltation are, in addition to being at the same time, need and desire, are also instruments capable of synchronization with the Universal Order, abounding to the experienced reality. Reality, as it is, not only matters but it demands to be in accessed since there is something within us, that only Consciousness can access, fostering a greater understanding of God and 33

its Laws and the Law of Life. Therefore, the path to Enlightenment is the cultivation of virtuousness, characterized by these mentioned forces under control as these lead us from our externality to our interiority; from our appearance to our essence. The practices of reflection, concentration, meditation, vibration, perception, contemplation and exaltation help us to awake, build and/or develop the best in ourselves and engage with it. This involvement, leads us to the practice of mindfulness, which to keep abridging the inevitable encounter with what is true. After all, the understanding, as well as the conception, comes with the direct perception of what is just as it is and not as we think it is. The parable (COSTA, 2009, p.12) tells us that: A less intelligent Human Being watched the Enlightened One helping humanity to awaken, build and/or develop their consciousness. Suddenly, as if out of nowhere, the Enlightened One asked him: - What do you do with respect to the Creative Principle, the Purpose of Life as well as the Reason of Our Existence? Angry, the less intelligent Human Being told him:
34

- Are you questioning me just as to a fool? The Enlightened One, then said: - You Tell Me. And heard from him: - What I want; just what I want. Hence Illuminated concluded: - For in knowledge I say - the Human Being has a moral duty to know what he/she does, while he/she is doing, for it becomes easier if he/she wants to stop.
This example shows us that our consciousness must be present in our every act; it is the difference between sleep and wakefulness, because, although nothing should be prohibited, not everything is permissible in order for everyone to live in harmony. Thus is shown the importance of practice; so practitioner is the one who, even though does not produce, lives acting, deliberating about what is agreeable or not, thus if intelligent enough makes his/ her consciousness our judges. It is a fact that will, consciousness and awareness are indispensable faculties for the Human Being who 35

wants to accomplish them, because when we use our will we seek the best; when we use our consciousness we do what is best; and when we use our awareness we do what is best. The fact that humanity understands that truth changes, reforms or transforms the Human Being, but this is a question of reforming consciousness, which is a question even of the Human Being’s self-knowledge. Therefore, consciousness demands to be admired, as it offers the only key to control ourselves, in all aspects of our life. The history “Whilst there is an intermediary there is loss” (COSTA, 2012, p.47) tells us that The sun was sleeping in the full moon’s nurturing arms, when came another time for the day’s tasks for the realization of the spiritual improvement, in the spiritualist temple of the master O’Mim, the awakener. The master was famous for his moderate way to awaken, develop and expand consciousness. He was, to those who knew him, the purest host of consciousness. At the time of this task, the disciples generally approached him to perform the routine contemplation in search of the true source: The

Immutable in oneself. Because for them, the search for the Immutable was not just another option, but a top priority condition for their lives. Therefore, the real task. On this day, at the time of the realization of the meditation task, the master found that Jino, one of his most demanding disciples, showed difficulty in accomplishing it. Hence, O’Mim got up, went to him and quietly asked, about his state, listening to it: - Do you know what a master is? I’m kind of upset with myself. It is only today that I saw that I could not even conceive the Immutable enough for me to live in my day-to-day in dynamic balance. My day has had disorders, discomforts and dissatisfactions. - So you should be well, because one who knows his limitations knows his strength. said the master O’Mim. - Oh! Master, I have already learned it, but the practicality that it indicates it still is very difficult to me. - Well, and what have you done about it, my dear? Asked the master. - All that I can master. Jino spoke.

- It is not enough. spoke O’Mim, and continued. - Therefore, no border is so far away that we cannot reach, although it is an inconceivable dimension for one to conceive. And the one who want to contact the Immutable should, for example, learn how to think. And to think until one cannot do it no more, finally, to the point of fearlessness, because it is not possible to find the Immutable whilst self is present. Thus you can only feel without yourself. You cannot find the Immutable through the mutable. The Timeless with temporary, i.e. with the thought. Therefore, you have a moral duty to know how to think, to the point where you know how to think without thoughts, making you and the thing only one. There can be no intermediary, because, as long as there is an intermediary, there is loss. Think about it. O’Mim finished and returned to his contemplation. And Jino, invigorated, showed his gratitude with a tightening on the lips that forced the apples of his face to invite the eye to act in a similar manner.
Thinking is natural to every being, including the human. He/she thinks to act. And he/she does so in three ways: thinking with the fixed thought; thinking with flexible thought; and thinking without thought. It is noticeable the fact that those who think only with 38

And that favors the individual to lives with the dimension where actions are based on the speed of light in its absolute standard. So to speak. In this case, we highlight the Tolle’s reflection (2007, p. 67-68) which states: when we come into contact with this dimension we carry it within us - and that is our natural state, and not a miraculous achievement - all the actions we take and the relationships we

establish, reflect the unification state with the One Life we feel in our interior.
Ornstein (1991) asserts, with this perspective, that the awakening of consciousness means selfknowledge, the perceiving of different selves that are within us, when we remain aware of the broader field of perception. This is because, as Leontiev indicates (1978), consciousness is not mere knowledge and not only a system of knowledge or acquired concepts. It property is an internal movement that reflects the actual movement of the life of the subject him/herself, which it - consciousness - mediates; and only in this movement, the knowledge finds its relevance. Hence, it is considered that when things go wrong in the world, they are showing that there is something wrong with the individual, because there is something wrong in me. So if I am wise, I will examine myself first ... In short, the essential is the life of the individual. It alone creates history, it only promotes major changes, it only creates the future. The whole future, the whole history of the world, flows from the huge sum of these hidden sources that exist within individuals. Even in our most private

and subjective life we are not just passive witnesses or victims of our era, but also its builders. We create our own time (JUNG, 1953. cited ZOHAR and MARSHALL, 2006, p.10).
It is also the function of Consciousness, to open the perception that we are all part of a whole and belong to it, here is spirituality. According to Leonardo Boff (2003, p. 23) Spirituality has to do with experience, not with doctrine, dogmas, rituals, or celebrations. These are born of spirituality they may contain spirituality, but are not spirituality. They are piped water, not the source of crystalline water. It’s great when religion or a particular spiritual path can actually channel the spiritual experience and continuously carry us to drink from the fountain.
The function of Consciousness is the Achievement of the true source, the recognition of Life in itself, the same Life in everything and everyone. However, Consciousness is unconditioned by the mind, it is free to be what it is: not what thoughts and beliefs claim it to be. The words in a spiritual teaching only point to the critical state of the human being’s 41

essential consciousness. Having reached this state of consciousness, the human being lives its life on Earth, parting from that freedom, expansiveness and mastery over reality, inner and outer, as it is aligned with the essence of that which created it: the vast creative intelligence that permeates and gives life to the whole universe (BORINE, 2007). May we, therefore, seek within us that the source which we carry, and that includes, especially, all the mysteries of the universe. This is the end of Consciousness!

Only evolution has that instant which transmits the ability to lead us to the level of understanding that is to come, restoring us to what in essence we are - something that only the Consciousness admires, discovers and celebrates, providing for the appropriate purposes. That is not because it is not caught, seen or heard, something which in existence can be denied, therefore reality is not, nor is in appearance, but in essence. Here is the relevance of Consciousness, the fact that, when manifested in the Human Being to a significant degree, it helps to choose moral, ethical and aesthetic high values; to identify faculties and qualities that constitute our being; as well as to seek to know, significantly, the Creative Principle, the Purpose of Life and the Reason of Our Existence, including and especially from oneself, allowing more and more, to live the essence; and who acts in such a manner soon notices not to be clinging to any form or appearance. 44

Precisely for this reason, Consciousness frees us of the dictatorship of appearance. The more the Human Being’s consciousness the fewer the conflicts and imbalances produced in society. And so we believe that the Human Being’s conduct is directly proportional to his/her degree of acquired consciousness. “A radical internal transformation and evolution to a new level of consciousness should be the only real hope we have to the current global crisis brought about by the dominance of the Western paradigmatic mechanism. “ (Stanislav Grof)
The change, reform and/or transformation of society begins with the change, reform and/or transformation in our individuality; therefore, it is our duty to live in a state of eternal transformation, of eternal rebirth. We should connect with the things that are closer and not distant, even because there can be no transformation, if there is no understanding of the object to be transformed. And there can be no understanding if mindfulness is not present. It is worth considering that undertaking the transformation of the external atom, as until now we have done, we 45

demonstrate not knowing, yet, how to perform the transformation of our inner atom. Here we can, once again, align ourselves with the example of mankind’s great teachers, demonstrating, factually, the truth of the matter, that the transformation, moment by moment, is not a presumption, but the weapon of the wise one. After all, no reform, change or transformation occurs in any society, while there is no reform, change or transformation in the consciousness of the individuals that makes it up, maintains it and expands it. However, it matters very much that we undertake the transformation and not the reforms and/or changes, because, unlike the previous transformations, this one implies that revolution is irreversible because it happens within. Therefore, we should be brief and conscientious in the pursuit of this revolution that enables, minimally, the weakening of the animal passions. The construction of the sense of equality, extinguishes any disagreement; the development of fraternity, occupies the space of selfishness and enhances the scope of 46

freedom as the highest expression of consciousness. In this case, we are dealing with only indispensable revolution, which is the spiritual one, therefore, the one that takes place within the Human Being, this trinity has the moral duty to live no longer asleep. “It is said that Consciousness, being timeless, is the present time beyond time - and supposedly timeless is the “source” from which time and all human experience arise”. (PETER DZIUBAN)
It is not dispensable to know that we live in a world of causalities, however, there are many evidences that exist in us a dimension where causality is not a fact; in it that which is timeless lives manifest and induces us to understand it, but without the temporal as a means. The means determines the end. The essential, the timeless, the immutable is that without which the thing is not what it is, or rather, it does not exist. The new, the absolute, the essence, the immutable, finally, the timeless exists and always arrives to everyone, but especially for those who have awakened, developed and/or expanded their 47

consciousness to a significant degree, making itself present. However, only when we empty ourselves we are occupied by that which is eternal, timeless, in short, the immutable, the truth; after all, we do not find the new, the absolute, the essence, the immutable, finally, the timeless by guesswork but instead by reflection, for only this anticipates it. The timeless is available, but is ahead of us, so we do not need to strive to achieve it; to this end we need, consciousness in a significant degree. The parable (COSTA, 2009, p.22) tell us that: We come here to make you realize some things you’re not and because of it we are angry and cannot take it anymore. If you do not hear us, we shall silence you any way we want, because what you are doing for humanity, saying that is helping it to awaken, to build and/or develop its consciousness, is not right. the unintelligent Human Beings spoke to the Enlightened One and heard as an answer: - I do not look for what is right or wrong, but for what is legal or illegal. illegal is connected to the cosmic consciousness. Let’s see: it’s right for you to question me as you do now, but your intention is not legal. The right has to do with us, with our opinions, but the legal has to do with the Natural Law. The right, yes can leads us to the supreme good, but only after experiencing extreme evil. And the legal keeps us in the highest good. So, my dearest, we must understand the significant differences between the right-wrong and the legal-illegal, under the penalty of not adapting ourselves to those basic principles that make us want, think and perform in accordance with the real task that makes us return to our real home, without leaving the place because there is nowhere to go. This is because, meeting God, our Father who I am, it is not a matter of searching, but of locating because the center exists and is everywhere
Bless it we are able to understand that the Human Being, this object that reflects on its actions, has the moral duty to act in a manner that denounces itself as a Being originating of that Being who is the Absolute Center from where all the actions depart, in order to understand the truth that lies in the fact that those who do not focus their attention on oneself do not know what is to watch; and whoever lives in this 49

manner, does not build one’s center; one’s own being; Finally, one’s consciousness. The story “The less the conflict the more the Consciousness” (COSTA, 2012, p.91) tells us that Mc’Goi and Mc’Frai, disciple and master, respectively, talked as they walked through the paths of the garden of his temple. This master was a holder of the immutable, truly significant speaker about the chaos and its ramifications. Behold that at a given instant Mc’Goi spoke to his master: - Master, Mc’Lot, Mc’Igro and Mc’Esmar are arguing a lot. They are always talking about the various manifestations of the three major problems of humanity: corruption, violence and lust in man, in society and in the world, and when they do, they usually give me the impression that arrive nowhere and what is worse, fight a lot. - I have seen. Spoke the master. - But master, the you have seen it and not taken action? Mc’Goi spoke and the master heard: - I say yes. I have heard that three people were talking and, as you say, much discussed but never concluded anything, because even they did not know where they were wished to arrive

at. they were Mc’Dai, Mc’Toi and Mc’Lac.. They talked among themselves about their qualities and their respective value in an institution. One demanded that the other came to the same conclusion he had also arrived. Behold that in a day, in such a discussion, Mc’Lac showed that he wanted a little more space in that society to express his ideas. Mc’Dai, who did not lead it, defended Mc’Lac from Mc’Toi, which in addition to leading it, called Mc’Lac incapable, as he was mentally retarded. And Mc’Toi called Mc’Dai an idiot to defend Mc’Lac. Behold, that at some point in the discussion, Mc’Lac interceded and spoke: - Please calm, do not annoy yourselves, do not fight. So you do not know that the fight is the longest way? The master concluded and continued to walk through the temple’s garden watching the dispute between a beetle and a slug, though he concentrated his hearing toward Mc’Fai, who was quiet and continued thus. It was time to learn, in practice, the fact that it is easier to perform nuclear fission than to end prejudice. This is why we it matters to know how to analyze, because the analysis of the facts eliminates confusion.

To be human is to seek to know to feel, to think and to act in accordance to what is grounded in intelligence and devoid of thought.
Perhaps humanity understands that we must be, from an early age, educated so as not to lose the right path, so that we can contemplate the fact that there will always be stars illuminating our way; that the beholder, at least exercises the internal path; because the Consciousness shows more than just your way. Thus, we exhort Ramatis’ statement (2004) that: no other thing besides consciousness is needed to the clearing of all paths; you will not need a background in culture, but simply the purity of intention. The exact moment of release resides in the full understanding of the path in its entirety, know or not the use of the word refined; simple souls are closer to the truth. (p.112)
According to Antonio Damasio (2010) the process of consciousness has become more complex, and with the advent of the functions of memory, reasoning and language which evolved together, humanity was presented to the new benefits of consciousness. There are many advantages in this domain, it became 52

possible to analyze the possible future and delay or inhibit automatic responses. For the author “it was this orientation from consciousness that brought us a more accurate management of basic homeostasis and, ultimately, the beginning of sociocultural homeostasis” (DAMÁSIO, 2010, p. 330) Behold that, according to Emilia Queiroga, as stated on her website humanity finds itself immersed in an ocean of consciousness and intelligent life through a constant creative process, which allows us to find a purpose and a real, broad and deep meaning for our existence. When we actually perceive our lives as part of a Greater Whole, we simultaneously recognize our greatness and insignificance in the face of life. “ (QUEIROGA, site)
Reason does not reject the theory that only those who look close see more details; and only that who approaches uses the consciousness, that is, the one who thinks intelligently. Dialoguing with this idea, Blackmore (2011) states that the eyes of posterity, the ‘problem of consciousness’ will be no different from the ‘problem of life’. Still in this perspective Dziuban (2008) tells us that consciousness is so unlimited that 53

it leaves no horizons. After all, when consciousness arrives at its apex, then it knows and feels the mystery of existence, to the point of realizing it. In search of showing us the process of realization of the Existence in ourselves, Bailey (2007), calls us to the attention that we should try to be conscious that there is no such thing as inorganic matter, that every atom is life. We must understand that all forms are alive, and each one is only the expression vehicle for an internal entity. We must understand also that this applies to the sets of forms. In this wat we will find the key to understanding ourselves, and perhaps the mystery of the solar system (p.62).
As Pinheiro (2011) urges, the current human being no longer accepts definitive materialist explanations about life, because even scientists know that in life, everything is driven forward; therefore, expands and requires improvement. Thus, the human being feels the need to evolve, to grow and to obtain more logical and consistent answers to their inner questions, under the penalty of his/her life becoming meaningless and lost in remote paths.

Borine (2008, p.34) adds that It is important to know that no human being escapes this natural evolutionary process, because it is sole responsibility of the individual. Consciousness, spirituality, matter and life, are all interconnected and interrelated. Systems theory has come to show us this for it shows us the importance of interactivity. The farther from the core we are, the more disconnections, disturbances arise and are reflected as suffering and pains. The more we are integrated with our essence we are, the more we may experience completeness. A great fight, maybe the greatest of all, occurs within us and, in most cases, lasts throughout life: the terror of surrendering and the fear of unification. We long to return to the origin of consciousness, but we are afraid.
The findings of quantum physics through experiments that proved the wave-particle duality, unveiled dimensions of reality hitherto unknown to science. However, these same experiments revealed something more intriguing, that the viewer’s consciousness interferes with the observed object. In other words, consciousness influences the manifestation of the subatomic particle which,

depending on how the experiment is carried out, it is manifested as matter or as energy (Reichow, 2006). Physics like Goswami (2007) and Wolf (2003) found in the microcosmic level that the researcher’s consciousness interfere with the result of the research. These experiments show us that it is no longer possible to deny that everything lives dynamically interconnected. When silenced, when mentally free, we can see what is to be and to stay inseparably connected with all things, connected with the Whole; and it is there, and only there, that we can perceive something beyond symbols, beyond the known, beyond appearances, finally, beyond the forms. So we can say that our actions and reactions demonstrate the degree of consciousness that we have. Therefore, who does not live connected with his inner self is lost in externality creating all kinds of problems that shall soon to be taken from them. In face of discussions about consciousness, or rather, the concern for it, Ruy Cézar do Espírito Santo (2006, p. 2), expresses: 56

in this moment, I feel that we are at the beginning of a new era, that denominates the maturity of the human being. Of course we shall still live with many teenagers... We should not forget that there have been twenty centuries of adolescence... Actually, what I call maturity is inserted in the context of raise awareness or consciousness as mentioned above and, surely, this also implies a long Walk...
This new era mentioned by EspĂrito Santo, of course, entails a transformative movement, on which Houston (1993 p.21-2) states: what is happening I believe, it is very far from what has been called a ‘paradigm shift’. These are an overall system transition, a change in reality itself. As a paradigm shift it should be compared to the rotation of a kaleidoscope and we would observe the pieces being distributed according to new standards and new relationships between them. The overall system transition would require the inclusion, on the whole, of entirely new pieces. Even the world is changing.

three dimensions; consciousness carries with it an increasingly new, broad and significant vision about reality. Buddha, for example, already said that consciousness holds the Universal wisdom in a state of latency, because in it there is only Unity, but only when centered in the individual. Therefore, it is undisputed and undeniable that reality is available to everyone who needs to move along. This is where the real and significant value of consciousness lies, which impels us to externalize it in the form of action.

It is essential to correlate the topic with the theoretical universe, opting for a theoretical model grounding the interpretation of the meaning of the collected data and facts. The theoretical assumptions are used to support the researcher’s interpretation of his ideas. He seeks, from documentary or bibliographic sources to assess what has been accomplished and what fundaments the relevance of the researched theme. The theoretical basis must allow the researcher to have a broad overview of the various approaches that make up his field of study, offering conditions to produce a discussion of the results revealed by research and literature on the topic of study.

“Consciousness knows how to be made verified not only its importance but also its relevanceâ€?. (JAIR TÉRCIO)
Starting from the premise that if we want to change the world we need the basic change happening within us, confirming the importance of Consciousness. This confirms that we shall remain forever in this way. Therefore, the degree of consciousness increases significantly, just as an atom takes its energy from its core, and a hurricane takes all its strength from its eye, also the human being takes its strength from its center. In this sense, we have the moral duty to invest in our center, enhancing our achievements in all spheres of our life, whether personal, professional and spiritual, after all, the center is everywhere. The function of consciousness is not only to understand the reality, but also to experience it, in a direct, correct and complete way in the daily life, providing opportunities for transformations, so increasingly urgent, intense and complete and 61

strengthening the consonance of our internal and individual consciousness, with the external consciousness, the Universal one. “The human being can expand his perception of reality and always do so, resulting in a gradual process of becoming conscious of itself as an attribute of a higher Consciousness” (EMÍLIA QUEIROGA)
When dealing with consciousness and its importance, we praise that this implies in being aware to the facts of reality, both interior and exterior, to promote a conscious living, therefore balanced, with oneself, with others and with the Whole of which we are part. Therefore, one must be able to live in harmony with the objective and subjective world, noting that the objective world is shallow, insubstantial and transitory. We begin this reflection remembering that seeking God means to be located, or rather to be lost in Him. In this sense, the shorter the distance the greater the degree of understanding and the force of the realization. It is worth recalling, however, that there is more presence in us than we miss and need to connect, firmly, safely and permanently with this force that makes us certain that the more we focus our consciousness in ourselves, in our center, the more possible conflicts are avoided and the existing ones extinct, which are nothing but new challenges that must be faced, defeated and overcome, in the light of the Natural Laws governing the Universe, that lie in 63

our Consciousness Our consciousness is always present in our nature and our nature always follows what the Divine Laws, the Universal Laws, finally, the Natural Laws governing the universe implies, indicates and directs, for the sake of its short and conscious evolution. And so, when consciousness is present, the human experience is comprehensive; more than comprehensive it is complete; and more than complete, it is whole, for it is identifying. The parable tells (COSTA, 2009, p 125.): - Who are you? Asked the unintelligent Human Beings to the Enlightened One, concerned about his unknown presence among mankind. He replied thus: - The fair and perfect present time for anyone who has everything.

Self-knowledge requires knowing how to turn our view inside ourselves One foggy, cold and sleepy winter morning, a hungry beggar passed before the house of a college man, very rich, who lived drunk and drugged, in other words in a completely unbalanced way. The house had its door open and the beggar did not hesitate and went inside, going straight to the kitchen, as if he already knew it. Once there, he opened the refrigerator and cupboards, found several food and began to feast, as much as he could. The home owner was there and moving, he came in the room where the beggar was feeding, very quietly, and when saw him, his only reaction was not pleasant at all. - hey you! What are you doing here, boy? The owner of the house asked, shouting, drugged and heard the beggar, full of sensitivity, simplicity and meaning, whose way of speaking denounced: - taking care of my life, and you? It was the sign the householder needed and expected. So the drunkard heard what the beggar had told him, laughing, very happily, as if for the first time was magical, it was unique.

Human Being means to seek to recognize the Divine Signs from itself.
We hope, in this context, that all and any distance that exists between us and the Whole that we are and that resides in us may be extinct, after all, while there is a distance, there is relativity therefore incomprehension. Here the problem of incomprehension must not be ours; to remedy that, we need consciousness increasingly significant degree. It is clear to us that with the Consciousness and only with her said problems we face, while studying the known facts of the life and existence, call for a more clearly defined than that which has served so far, even though we do not have all the answers to our questions, nor discovered the solutions to all the problems, to remedy the world’s evils as well evidenced Bailey (2007). once considered territory of the shadows, is a guarantee of success in the future (BAILEY, 2007). This process involves a bloom from the inside out, a development from the center, it indicates evolution, developing the life that lies within all units, “the expansion momentum that eventually merges all units and sets, until we arrive at the total sum of all manifestation that can be called Nature, or God, and that is the set of all states of consciousness “(BAILEY, 2007, p. 21) Thus, the fundamental idea that Bailey points out (2007) is that evolution can be followed as above, from the atom of chemistry and physics to man, to the life that sustains a planet, to the Logos, the deity of our solar system, intelligence or Life that exists behind all the manifestations of nature, and beyond, to an even greater scheme in which even this our God has to play its part and take a seat. We are not born human; we become human through a self-realization process that requires a huge investment of time and energy in evolutionary tracks. So we can say that the human being introduced 68

another quality of evolution on this planet, which refers to the conscious and intentional evolution. According to Rudolf Steiner (1985), in times before the historical era, human beings had a direct interaction with the supra-sensible worlds. The human consciousness of that time can be compared to our consciousness when we dream. “In this period, the physical contours of the sensory world were not as clear as they are for the modern man; in compensation human beings knew they were led and protected by beings of spiritual nature” ( MOGGI, 2008, p.1). Consciousness is therefore something so much bigger and we often have the pretention to limit it. It is wise to understand its mechanisms and goals because its development is human evolution itself. “A synthesis is necessary in order to for us to integrate the fragmentations that were lost for millennia, where many people still seek outside what is within themselves” (BORINE, 2009, p. 1) According to Borine (2009) the time of great synthesis, that is, the increasing integration of knowledge, in order to reach the heart of man and its evolutionary process in the universe has arrived. Psychology of Consciousness brings an understanding of the dimension of the human being, keeping in view the field of consciousness, vast yet full of revelations and discoveries, but inherent in its various aspects. It has the possibility of integrating the mechanisms of the human psyche considering their energy field. Goswami (2011) deepens furthermore the discussion and shows us practically that in the universe there is not a single object. In essence consciousness is what exists. It creates the matter, that is, the energy that is a consequence of the existence of consciousness. Originally, according to Borine (2003), somehow consciousness created energy and somehow this same consciousness cease to identify itself forming matter that we deceptively believe to be solid, but which actually consists of huge empty spaces also called the subatomic universe. According to Chalmers “we know consciousness more directly than we do anything else, and therefore, no ‘proof’ would be appropriate” (Chalmers, 1996, pp. XII-XIII). We know, however, that in any culture or situation there are always those humans who anticipate themselves in relation to others and demonstrate the 70

existence of a higher level of consciousness. Are these the people who demonstrate these qualities of thinking about the future, be it in the political, military, scientific, religious or artistic sphere that are recognized as true geniuses or charismatic leaders, such as Beethoven, Mozart who composed operas when 8 years old; Einstein developed the theory of relativity at age 24, despite being considered incapable by his math primary school teacher; Ghandi that liberated a country from an unusual strategy; or Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed, to remain only within a few examples “(MOGGI, 2008). Science, however, still lacks Consciousness. And in this sense Chalmers (1996) shows clearly that science will not explain so soon how the experience of consciousness takes place because it is the cosmic manifestation within us and to Chalmers everything has consciousness, from a stone to the more massive star. Behold, if we consider that everything has consciousness it can be deduced that there are primitive consciousness and more developed and advanced ones. According to Borine (2008, p.6), “just 71

The consciousness of the human being is determined both by the choices it makes, and by the way it achieve such choices. It is true that we all are endowed with consciousness, though not all pay attention to this fact. However, only those who already live, voluntarily, conscious and aware, awakening it, building it and/or developing it can benefit from it in all circumstances of life. higher orders of unity, identity and integration, resulting in the universal unity and in the Supreme Identity. Thus, those who wish to increasingly humanize themselves, must excel in awakening, building and/ or developing their consciousness; to remain true to their noble purposes; and inquire about the natural creation, in a patient, persistent and intelligent manner; and reflect on what is and on what already have been made available. its manifestations and/or achievements, namely: the Center from where all the actions arise; the Act, or the action in itself; and the Object that reflects the actions. Today we know that consciousness is related in such a manner with the brain, and therefore with intelligence, that it would be difficult to dissociate them. Hence the importance and necessity of the human being, based on Universal Laws, to build and expand a state of consciousness for the preservation of mankind, and therefore of superior moral actions. This because consciousness is one of the most important faculties that allows humans to discern the true path that they should follow. However, while not awakened, we build and/or develop the consciousness, then we should build up the reason in ourselves, because reality cannot live forever hidden, naturally or forcibly. The parable tells us that (COSTA, 2009, p. 54): Humanity, while receiving the visit of the Enlightened One, and because of his interpellations towards it, as to what it already knew regarding the understanding of life as a

whole, asked him: - Who are you? He replied: - I’m the singular demonstration of the Unbridled Effort Law; I am That which you have always prayed for. Humanity continued, now with a questioning tone: - What you want from me? And they heard from him: - To help you wake, build and/or develop your intelligence so you can learn to recognize the truth and make significant changes in your consciousness. Then he heard the following reply before exposing his practical ideas: - Get out of here, you would fare very well with the less intelligent Human Beings. And the Enlightened One spoke thus: - I’ve already searched for and showed them what we should do regarding this, but we have not yet entered into an agreement. However, I assure you that it is impossible that they would not help us, because in knowing I tell you – the evil in me die, long ago. Everything has a reason to exist; everything always proves its real effectiveness; in short, absolutely everything has an I, that Is and Have absolutely everything; and I say this from my depth, because I have no other authority.

It is not difficult to, observing the fact that in the same degree that the human being turns to consciousness, consciousness turns to the human being, for God gives us the need and we proved it, as we use our consciousness to rise from relatives to absolutes, second including the reason, common sense and the good intentions of our actions. The history tells (COSTA, 2012, p. 93): EVERYTHING IS RELATIVE BECAUSE NOTHING IS COMPOSED OF A SINGLE ELEMENT INDIVISIBLE It was a harsh winter, not because of the rain, but due to the intense cold, the sun, although had the disposition, did not risk to introduce himself vehemently, as was almost never he was asked to be contributory as he knew and wanted, but, just as he could. it was time to prepare for the waters that would come and should be hailed as welcome. It was the time to understand that the flora and the fauna would be transformed radically. Behold, new adjustments would be required. In the temple of master Poqui, one of the most knowledgeable spiritualists about the Immutability, with a focus on the Inviolable Laws of Nature, all were hostages of the cold. It was a moment of reflection and, at this time, when the master was speaking something very significant to his disciples, on the path towards the Immutable, i.e. the practice of knowledge, self-knowledge and self-realization therefore, the practice of conscious abbreviated evolution. The topic of the day was relationships. Master - said BornÊ, one of his most studious disciples – we have learned with you that life is proved by the movement and it demands to be understood by all of us, but only offers us the life, which is to be and to exist in relation to the whole of which we are part, as important as all the others. We have also learned that to be and to remain increasingly conscious implies, increasingly to know how to absorb, in ourselves, the real value of significant relationships. - Well, to be and to exist indubitable minimum conditions to realize that, so conscious, as its importance demands, we seek here, with you, through the indications of immutability to prove this, so to speak, the experiencing direct, correct and completely, in ourselves, through the awakening of our faculties, such as necessity, will, imagination, intelligence, truth, consciousness and awareness, the development of our qualities, namely, feeling, wanting, thinking, recognizing, daring, reasoning and realizing, in accordance with the use of our forces in the domains, such as reflection, concentration, meditation, vibration, perception, contemplation and exaltation, respectively. Hence master, a question arose in me: after all, what is the purpose of life, which we only achieved through relationships? My dear BornÊ – Poqui continued - the real master is one who excels through the teaching method that facilitates learning; It is the one who excels for those who are ready to learn, but who do not like, do not need, do not require facilities, nor depend to be taught, but otherwise to be well conducted - Therefore I tell you, with what you tell us now, you show to be in indubitable minimum conditions to acquire what you want. After all, life is not something you can narrate, describe, nor explain, although it can favor us to achieve its real significant value, but only absorbing it, in itself, one can reach this level of consciousness. You can accomplish such a feat, and be content in not being able to give it to us The master concluded with a static movement, and his physical body betrayed his joy to have in the temple, not only understanding, but also comprehension, that is, toward his disciples, his greatest role. Because, contrary to the understanding, comprehension comes with the direct perception of what is, as it is, and this is what enables the immutable. And bornĂŠ? Ah! bornĂŠ relaxed and spread his body on the ground as if not worried, because once again he saw, shown by his master, that regarding life everything has been said and heard, although nothing has been said. level; been able to manage them as to produce as facts, the expected plausible and reasonably useful results. Thus through this it is, if not impossible, at least unlikely to have confusion, misunderstandings and the discomforts pervade life, in the life of the human being while unintelligent. We argue that even the practice of psychic connectivity exercises is surely the most direct, correct and complete method of awakening, construction and/or development of consciousness. The vibrations of these are exercises activate important regions of our brain, enhancing our psychic structures, able to favor us with greater control over ourselves, our emotions, fears and frustrations, helping us therefore to know better how deal with temptations, pressures and provocations in our day-to-day relations. We highlight seven specific exercises, namely: Concentration of the Lion, Reflection of the Lioness, Witnessing of the Egret; Gaze of the Mongoose, Introspection of the chrysalis, Self-observation of the butterfly, Spinning of the elephant (BARRETO 2011). 86

Such exercises are meant to awaken, build and/or develop consciousness, from the examples of nature as a means of connection with the divine that resides in everything, as well as and in each of us. the conscious daily practice of these exercises is of great interest, for different from physical exercise so necessary to our well-being, the psychic exercises allow us not only physical relaxation but also inner integration; therefore, more intelligence and more consciousness are made available, finally, also selfknowledge, which defines us as we are, able to reveal all our strengths and all that we can still be. Just because, the higher the practice of connectivity psychic exercises the greater is the degree of consciousness of the human being; and the more the consciousness, the greater its moral reputation; and the more so the more the human being lives a life of great pragmatic significant value. Therefore, harmonic states of consciousness - such as reflection, concentration, meditation, vibration, perception, contemplation and exaltation 87

- are capable of synchronizing the human being with the Universal Order, which abounds to the reality that we experience. What motivates us to awake, build and/or develop our consciousness is connected to the fact that even the mystery of existence can only be unraveled by it. Thus, it is well known the fact that anyone who recognizes the efforts of consciousness, awaken it, build it and/or develop it, in an increasingly abbreviated manner.

“If silenced within, the human being educates, disciplines and awakens his/her consciousness and uses it as a resource for the performance of his/her duties, in the conquest of evolution, in as abbreviated manner” (JAIR TÉRCIO)
The primordial occupation of mankind should be, as soon as possible, to become and remain conscious of its raison d’être, as well as acting concomitantly on it, under penalty of making of oneself, another resource for the creation of conflicts c not only individual but also social. For, there is nothing that sustain lthe human being in its search to become better and instead acquire the values, methods and resources to just remain the same In this perspective, the human being must seek to determine the necessary resources, including the subtle and subjective ones; and should seek to demonstrate the importance of learning, especially with learning connected the experience. It is worth considering, however, that our inner side has features that the outer one does not; but who 90

already sees the truth of it, in itself, knows. Knows and even recognize that intelligence is also one of the resources available to awakening, development and expansion of our consciousness. Consider this: Intelligence is one of the characteristics of consciousness that throughout the history of the Mind Science studies questioned about how it had come to be, or rather if unintelligent particles could compose a set that could produce intelligence. The answer is yes, it is so from the manner these particles organized themselves. Organized particles presuppose intelligence criteria and reinforcing this thesis, John Searle indicates that the neurons themselves are not aware, but from their organization in the brain, even without showing the aspect of consciousness they present themselves as intelligent, which in itself indicates that intelligence is one of the characteristics of consciousness. (SEARLE, 1998, p. 45)
The admission of the intelligence factor will lead us inevitably to the evolution of consciousness in its multiple forms, from the modes of consciousness we consider subhuman, through human, to those which 91

may be considered by logic (even though it cannot be proven) as super- human (BAILEY, 2007, p.19). Also because the intelligence favors the human being in that state of being which only it can receive new revelations and absorb the genuine value of its existence. It is the nature of intelligence to meet our concerns. It is the nature of intelligence to show us that we have eternity at our disposal. Anyway, it is the nature of intelligence to place itself at the center of the cyclone of our searches as to favor us in becoming aware of our deepest essence. Thus it is the nature of intelligence, not of the intellect, to open the doors of dimensions of consciousness that also exists in humans. It matters, however, to emphasize the fact that the human being is a complex whole. When we say “whole” we mean that there are no overlapping parts. Everything in it is articulated and harmonized. When we say “complex” we mean that “the human being is not simple, but the symphony of multiple dimensions. Among others, we discern three fundamental dimensions of the human being: the externality, 92

interiority and depth. (Boff, 2003, p.1) Well, the end of the human being is in its Divine Principle; its first and last medium is self-knowledge; and its unique features are the Divine Laws, the Universal Laws, finally, the Natural Laws governing the Universe, those that rest on its consciousness. Thus, Our awakened consciousness is only a part of the whole of our undivided consciousness. There is also an extensive or enhanced consciousness that is based on indestructible information fields and constant evolution, and where all knowledge, wisdom and unconditional love are present and available. (LOMMEL, 2006 apud LASZLO, 2008, p. 124).
Whoever awakens, builds and/or develop its own consciousness in a significant degree, is not affected with the opposite, with the relative, in short, with what it is superficial. Thus, to the extent that we know ourselves, we know our innermost part, which must be known in its innermost depth; and the more we know ourselves better we move in relation to the outside world, which should be known in its wider 93

superficiality. In this context, it is important to remember that the unity of thought between religion, philosophy and science is the most powerful resource for knowledge, of life as a whole, and it tends to be even more important, to the extent that the complexity of the relationship between the individual, society and the environment demands to be understood more and more briefly. The parable tells us that (COSTA, 2009, p. 54): Humanity met the Enlightened One. It was a party to celebrate the arrival of the season of truth and they played a song: intelligence. All were pure delight with its show. Behold, the Enlightened One approached humanity and said: - Please, you can grant me this dance? She responded with its eyes, and intoxicated, accepted promptly. from the last time we’ve met. She replied: - And you’re still the same: equal, fair, perfect and unchanging. He continued: - Come on, let’s celebrate elsewhere. Let us leave this place and go to the consciousness, but bring with yourself your imagination and do not forget your intelligence, because you will need them both. It then asked curiously: - And then I wake up? Then It heard Him: - Of course my Dear! For in Knowing I tell you - the one who sees an Enlightened One does not understand and the one who understands does not see an Enlightened One. It is a fact that the divine wisdom comes from within – the environment of our consciousness; and its role is to find reality out, to the point of providing the human being with an intimate connection with our creative principle, but from him/herself. Here consciousness is an absolute must, considering the results we seek.

to the clearing of all paths; You shall not need culture, but simply the purity of intention. “The exact moment of liberation, is in fully understanding the path in its entirety, knowing or not how to use of the difficult words; simple souls are closer to the truth” (RAMATIS, 2004, p.112). So who wants to walk in search of truth does not need demonstrations, but feeling oneself. Because in the conduct of human beings the following are indispensable: the construction and the awakening of lofty feelings; the construction of thoughts according to the election of immutable values; the exercise of reflection; and the correct direction towards noble aspirations. Tells the story (COSTA, 2012, p. 93): TO BE OR NOT TO BE. Something that only water, and/or something that was similar to it, can do, after all, soft water in hard rock hits it until it is destroyed. The master O’cavim had a true passion for the unusual benefits of exquisite combination of complementary things and never let himself prevent access the immutability reservoir, that is, the Morality of the Universe denounced by the conduct of celestial bodies, because it excels in pure energy and unlimited creativity. Confidence, conviction and certainty, towards the true essence, were remarkable peculiarities in this master. Anyway, the sea continued its onslaught towards the beach, and doted it, the beach, not only as it should, but how it, the sea, could. Similar conduct the disciples had towards their master, who made them experience the directly, correctly and completely, the importance of contemplation and its relationship with consciousness, one of the most important capital innate faculties of the human being. This master taught to his disciples that the more

contemplative the closer one would be. In this trial by the beholders, they were aware of the fact that the sea, conceited, made it clear its gentleness and sweetness towards the beach, because she already answered the sea’s charges in the same measure, trying to hold it in its bowels. Behold, this time in the temple, when the end of the exercise of spiritual improvement, Greque, one of Master O’Cavim’s Disciples, asked him to make some considerations about the master/ disciple relationship. He answered: - My dears, there are no masters, but disciples. Having a teacher does not mean being a disciple. Being a master or a disciple is not important. The master of masters is a fool. The Master makes the disciple. - Only those who are not disciples, require teachers. - Our enlightenment, our emancipation, our blessedness, finally, our immutability does not depend on a master but on ourselves. - Being a disciple implies the ability to learn and feel, to self-realize as well as how to know how to deal in a rational and balanced way with new situations, in short, be a lifelong learner.

Being a disciple is an essential need for all of us, especially for those who have stood in the path and going through it. Disciple is the one who is ready. Ready to give his/her feelings, thoughts, deeds and works, not only these but also his/her body, soul and spirit; and not only these but also and his life. Behold, while a foolish human being requires, but to be, to have a master, an Enlightened One requires to be a disciple. The Master concluded but still heard: - Yes Master but you is our master, and we are very grateful for all! Greque reconsidered and everyone was listening, while showing acceptance by moving their head. My dear, to be master means encouraging others in the pursuit of the true home, in accordance with the power of his own example, but specially through the real task, as we do now. Being a master means having been arrested in the same manner as others are and to have found the key to escape, and then be able to not only to say it’s possible, but also to teach others how they should proceed to do so, but as I told you, by the force of your example evidenced by your

conduct. The master concluded, indicating with his eyes and nodding with his head that the sea was beginning to be retreat, which should be imitated by these the silent gazers of the creator silence Being human is to seek to know how to be a lifelong learner.
So we should imitate God, but as He created us because as a True Father, He lives leading their children, giving them moral, ethical and high aesthetic principles; therefore, Universal principles. As act derived from consciousness! After all those who live in proper conduct have good conditions. The fact that when things go wrong in the world they are showing that there is something wrong with the individual can be verified. Therefore, if we are wise enough, we should be in a state of mindfulness, unshakable perception and/or constant vigilance, for us and for our interior. In short, we must be aware that the social chaos is nothing but the product of our individual chaos. It is the factual demonstration of 100

the collective result of our inner chaos, because one cannot stop acting and when we act, we project our acting on our exterior. Understanding, as well as the conception comes with direct perception things as it is. And only consciousness favors this state of being! It is consciousness, it never is too much; it produces that indubitable condition with which the human being can then in a direct way, achieve that which is true; and this is what makes such a being finds itself in that state of being in which all that is, is shown as it is. Consciousness is something far greater, but as we are now unintelligent our intention is to limit it. It is wise to understand its mechanisms and targets because its development is human evolution itself. A synthesis is necessary in order to integrate the fragmentations that were lost for millennia, where many people still seek out what is within themselves. The time of the great synthesis has arrived, that is, the increasing integration of knowledge, in order for us to reach the heart of man and his evolutionary process in the universe. Thus it is clear that one of our biggest problems lies in the fact that the recognition of the truth is only done by a few human beings, who have awakened their consciousness to the point of recognizing the truth that resides in all things; however, the disclosure of such truths is very slow; and their integration in our customs and traditions is even slower. However, if there is a will, then there is a way; if there is consciousness, then there is determination; and if there is awareness, then there is fulfillment. This is good to be said over and over again! Behold, it is the action of our being that exerts a decisive impact, because it causes awareness and awakening, it is the one that is rooted in our consciousness, and that integrates our being, feeling, thinking and acting. So it matters a great deal knowing how to feel, how to think and how to act.

We feel that the Whole is a precisely defined Order and, as such, urges the Human Being in its search to find the Being, through experiences in all levels in order to identify oneself with It. Consciousness, the very presence of God in the Human Being, enables the Human Being to find what is findable, but only when distance and resistance are immeasurably extinguished. When there is no limit of time, there is no distance or even any type of resistance in the vast Universal Field, the Human Being not only will feel the desire to reach expeditiously the highest point of awareness and perfection. However, to get there, analysis, the awareness of things is necessary, in order to conclude and express with full confidence, conviction and certainty that everything one does, is done because it can be done; and in order to know all that was done, it is essential to examine all that one have learned, such as what 104

moves consciousness. “[...] all that exists and moves in the cosmos is generated by consciousness, here understood as something transcendental - outside of space-time, nonlocal and omnipresent. (AMIT GOSWAMI)
Conscience tells us that the Human Being was born to find and reconnect itself to its transcendent source, which is within and everything, having thus the moral obligation to live converting, moralizing, spiritualizing oneself voluntarily, for everything has a reason to exist, even if it is unknown, intangible or transcendental. Thus, it is of the nature of consciousness to enable us to live beyond the known, worldly, profane level; as well as live feeling, thinking and acting in terms of a transcendent dimension. It, consciousness, is so determined, intense and dynamic that makes us able to respond accordingly to what is transcendental, proof that it can and must be awakened, constructed and/or developed for the appropriate purposes and lead us to our source, origin, 105

To access consciousness, through the practices of reflection, focus, meditation, vibration, seeing, contemplation and praise, which favors the Human Being to prepare itself to talk to God, opening the door that leads to the true undying source. The Parable states (COSTA, 2009, p. 122): God delivered a letter to the Enlightened One, who was preparing to help mankind to awake, build and/or develop its consciousness, and told him: - Take child, keep this letter because humanity will look for it and you will deliver as proof of my love for her. The Enlightened One asked him intelligently: - Father, may I learn the contents of that document? God responded fatherly: Yes son, is the law; if you want to know about it look in nature; if you want to feel, look within yourself; and if you want to be, be as I am, fulfil it. thought. Because it is not possible to the Human Being, to fail to meet, approach or identify itself with the Divine Laws, the Universal Laws, finally, with the Natural Laws governing the Universe. Today, the first day of spring in in the temple of the Immutability master Bertí was also the first minutes after the last meal of the day. The sun was setting up behind the clouds in the horizon and little quantity of light favored the vision of the first stars in the sky, which in the dusk, meant that the brightest stars could introduce themselves to the greatest sidereal spectacle, in a routinely manner, ie, balanced, dynamic and brilliantly. At this time, reflective studies were performed between the master and his disciples in the temple. Behold, this opportunity Rode, one of master Bertí’s disciples spoke: - Master What means to be Human? - My dear, look for the Law of Attraction and Repulsion, as well as the Law of Relativity which respect not creating, but the maintenance of celestial mechanics and you will have your answers. Answered the master, seeking in the sky, the sun’s position and othe visible stars at that moment.

And Rode frowned and went to get paper and pencil. It was time to use material science, knowledge, thought, and the intellect, in short, the known. After all, he already knew that the unknown can only be found through the understanding of the known. To be human is to seek to know the truth holding the fact that the road is general, but the walking is private.
In this sense, each one must do their part so that the whole is manifest in each of us, through us and beyond us. And as sentient beings, we can do more for the harmony of the whole. Therefore, the human relationship with nature and the whole, of which is an integral and integrated part, is an undeniable fact. We then resorted to Dejours (1999, p.74), which clearly shows us that “when we say man belongs to the world of nature, we indicate that the human operation and in part its behavior are subjected to laws. Immutable, stable, universal laws which stem ultimately, from the laws of matter “ In this sense, God gives us this edifying lesson: 110

his goodness, even though infinite, did not prevent that his wisdom created the severity of the worlds of spiritual correction, destined for those who deviate from the straight line established by his laws, because “it is to not enough feel the love; you need to know it in order to exercise it so that goodness and wisdom form two parallel lines, in order to establish the balance between feeling and knowing. “ (Ramatis, 2006, p.33) This balance comes from the faculty of conscience, and through it man must contemplate all that “goes inside him/her, watching the very existence, being, so to speak, spectator of him/herself.” (Guizot , 2005, p. 24). To the point of being increasingly opened to understand, for example, the natural process of pain, old age and death, as unavoidable phases of our process of abbreviated conscious evolution, towards enlightenment. Countersigning this understanding we highlight the statement Boff (2003) regarding the old age and death. In his view, for the spiritual person to growing old and dying belong to life, they do not kill life, but transfigure it, allowing a new level. 111

Just as at birth, we ourselves did not have to worry, for nature acted wisely and the human care ensured so that this natural course happened, so analogously with death: we move from this to another state of consciousness without realizing this passage. When we wake up we shall find ourselves in the welcoming arms of the Father and Mother of infinite goodness, which has always been waiting for us. We shall fall into their arms. And then we shall loose ourselves within love and the source of life. (Boff, 2003, p.3)
We will be well connected with the source of life, with our awakened consciousness, because beyond death we shall only take our consciousness. According Lommel (citing Laszlo, 2008) our awakened consciousness is only a part of our undivided consciousness. There is also an extensive or enhanced consciousness that is based on indestructible information fields and that are constantly evolving, and where all knowledge, wisdom and unconditional love are present and available. yourself with a fresh mind, open thoughts, and not be limited by a crystallized mind.” So we understand as completely non-intellectual and non-denominated. It just is. Remember a passage of the dialogue between God and Moses, as recalled in Bailey (2007, p.73). God thus expressed: ‘I am what I am’. He proposes to divide this sentence into three parts: (1) the atomic consciousness, I AM; (2) then the group, I AM WHAT - a self-centered unit, a self-conscious being, nevertheless something even greater; and finally, (3) I AM WHAT I AM as a fundamental reality, when man within the set shall recognize itself as an expression of the universal life and then his own group consciousness will join that which is the sum of all groups. Therefore, we can highlight Frankl’s statement (2005, p. 40) that “Consciousness is the voice of transcendence and therefore itself is transcendent.” Therefore, the human being was born to seek his/her transcendent origin; and God blesses those who have already become aware of it.
