Continental Grand Buffet

Touted as “Best multi ethnic buffet in Toronto!!”

Located at Dixie and Burnham Thorpe, with lots of parking to boot, this large restaurant is known for serving up a variety of dishes from an assortment of international cuisines. I would like to point out that the restaurant is a bit tricky to locate; the exact location is at the back of Rockwood Mall which shares the same address as the restaurant. Continental Grand Buffet is a new restaurant which will cater to all Canadians and various ethnic communities such as Arabs, Turkish, Albanian, Bosnian, Somalis, Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi, living in Mississauga and the GTA. This will be the first ever restaurant to serve halal food to various ethnic communities under one roof. Our main focus is to provide first and the best choice of halal food with an affordable price range for lunch, brunch, and dinner.

Clean, good food, and a lot of variety.

They have an interesting set up where there are different seating rooms aside from the main buffet which is great because it keeps noise contained.

The options are mostly Indian, American, a little Asian and some Arab/ Persian food like kebabs. I must say that the Indian food was not spicy at all, it’s a good thing because spicy food can scare away a lot of people who are not used to it.

Examples of food you can get there include:

butter chicken, palak paneer, lamb karahi, pani puri, chicken wings, crappy tiny thin pizza with no sauce, fries, onion rings, chili chicken, chow Mein, hot n sour soup, spring rolls, chicken and beef kebabs

Plus way more!

The dessert options were basic; ice cream, lame sheet cake, and a few Indian sweets.

The wait staff was helpful and came by our table regularly to clear plates and bring water as needed.

The price for the weekend was like $21.00+ per person and apparently we got like 20% off for seniors, which is great! The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars is because they need more Chinese and American options. It's basically an Indian buffet. I also didn't rate it a 5 because the North American dessert options included only two cakes and some ice cream and fruits. If you're not a fan of Indian desserts, your options are minimal. I would recommend it! I hope it’s helpful for you to make a decision to come here. Enjoy!!!

Making statement such as mediocre food is not fair but everyone has his own opinion. In general; food quality was very good with lots of items to select from. After having good meal; one can also have a 5 minute casual walk within the hall. Huge space for generations to enjoy.

Honestly you can't go to a restaurant and expect food like your mother's. The food was okay, not bad at all but something I'd definitely try again. There are so many choices of food and that's what surprised us. The thing with South Asian restaurants is that they don't focus on service and ambiance but Grand Buffet was definitely a good experience for my family in terms of service, food and cleanliness. It's kind of underrated I'd say. You shouldn't have very high expectations in the first place before you even try anything. I'd say if you're into South Asian food with a variety of other cuisines then go for it.
