We offer a large selection of construction courses, and boast outstanding industry standard facilities including our sustainable outdoor construction yard. This simulated construction site, MC Build, gives students the opportunity to train in a real working environment and is one of the only on campus outdoor facilities in the region. Many of our students have been offered apprenticeships with construction firms as local employers are impressed with the high quality industrial standard of our student’s practical work and commitment to learning their trade.
Working in the Community Our Construction students also regularly volunteer to build for charities such as Zoe’s Place, St Oswald’s Hospice, Samaritans and Butterwick Hospice.
Apprenticeships - Largest STEM apprenticeship provider in the North East.

Middlesbrough College also offers bespoke workshops with industry quality facilities, fully kitted out to replicate a real working environment for our students to train within.
“I have always wanted a career in brickwork so enrolling onto this course felt like the perfect next step for me. I have recently been offered an apprenticeship in brickwork through Northern Skills Group the apprenticeship and training arm of Middlesbrough College. During the process of applying for my apprenticeship my teachers were really helpful and I knew I could go to them if I had any questions. I would 100% recommend this course and Middlesbrough College to anyone as the facilities here are great and the teachers are always so supportive.”
