1) WHAT ‘OFF-THE-JOB TRAINING’ ACTUALLY IS
All employers must permit 20% of each apprentice’s employed hours to be used for offthe-job training. Off-the-job training can consist of: • •

The teaching of theory, such as online learning, lectures, simulation exercises or workshops Practical training learners would not usually do during the week, such as mentoring, shadowing, industry visits and attendance at competitions Learning support and completion of assignments
Off-the-job training does not include English and maths (up to level 2) as this is funded separately.
2) WE ARE HOT ON HEALTH AND SAFETY
A Health and Safety check will be carried out in your workplace prior to the apprenticeship programme start date
3) INSURANCE IS A MUST
4) WE NEED TO BE IN AGREEMENT
A service level agreement will need to be signed prior to the apprenticeship programme start date.
5) SUPPORT IS KEY
Your apprentice should have an assigned mentor who proactively supports progress in the workplace and takes part in regular reviews.
6) WE ARE HERE TO HELP
