GOODLIFE
GOODLIFE Help a charitable cause We know you’re busy just trying to do you, but, remember, there are a lot of people around the world who have it worse. When you start making money, give a bit of it to help society. You’ll feel a lot better for it.
Develop a good character Motsepe is an upright, straight-to-the-point kind of man, many describe him as calm and appreciative of the value of facts. You have to ensure that you develop good character that will highly define you in the society; this will eventually guide you to more elevated heights.
Take on challenges Quitting is never an option if you really want success, view any problem as a challenge and make it an opportunity to hit even greater heights. Remember, whatever doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger.
You are your only competition
Strength in unity Motsepe is highly inspired by the spirit of Ubuntu - “I am because you are”. This actually means that in order to achieve fulfillment in life, people need each other. Never hate any one too much to work with them, because there will come a time when you may need his or her help.
Don’t do anything just to please others. We all have our own strengths and weaknesses so compete with yourself to be the best version of you that you can be.
Vision makes the mission Life is all about having a vision; something you want to achieve, attain or be. The only way you can succeed is by knowing what you want. It’s like a map to your future. Having a vision gives you purpose and helps you to stay focused on what you really want.

HEALTH
DON’T LEAVE ME HANGING
HOW TO DEAL WITH THE MORNING AFTER A BIG NIGHT Common hangover cures from best to worst:
1. WATER You’ve got to drink your water. Alcohol makes you dehydrated. Ever notice that half your big night out is spent in the bathroom? That’s the alcohol. Doctors recommend downing 2 cups of water before falling into bed. And the next time you go out, drink a glass of water with every beer to replace all your lost fluids.
2. PAIN MEDS Beat a pounding, morning after headache with a pill or two. Only take antiinflammatories (like Disprin). Any stronger painkillers could damage your already beaten liver and can even be deadly.
10
MCWORLD.CO.ZA | MAY 2015
3. TOAST If you’ve spent the night liquidating your assets, kneeling at the porcelain throne or calling the seals, simple carbs can help. Your stomach has been through a lot so eat something simple like plain toast so at least something stays inside for a little while.
4. VITAMINS If you normally take vitamins, they’re not going to hurt you, but there’s no research that says they do anything to help get over a hangover.
5. SPORTS DRINKS Unless your night out was seriously huge (how are you alive?) you probably don’t need to replace your electrolytes. Research shows that sports drinks are no better than regular tap water for curing a hangover. So why waste your money?
HEALTH
6. GREASY FOOD It doesn’t matter what you eat after you’ve been drinking, but eating a good meal before a night out will help absorb the alcohol and make that hangover less intense. Eat whatever makes you happy the morning after, or whatever you can keep down...
7. COFFEE If you can’t handle life without your morning cup of coffee, then go ahead, but the caffeine might make your headache worse.
DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT HAIR OF THE DOG This is just a bad idea. You’re only prolonging the inevitable. What are you going to do; stay drunk forever? It’ll also make your headache a lot worse when it finally arrives. Starting up where you left off can also lead to dependency and alcohol abuse. Nobody wants that.
8. SEX Who thought this was a good idea? All that movement and activity with a headache and dodgy stomach. There’s no research that says this will help with a hangover at all, but it could help you pass the time.
KNOW YOUR LIMITS Moderate drinking for men is defined as just 2 drinks a day. More than 5 in one sitting is considered heavy drinking.

WHAT SOCIAL MEDIA CAN DO FOR SMALL BUSINESS An introduction to keeping your business alive on the Web.
WHAT’S OUT THERE?
You have a website, but what are those little icon link boxes actually for and where do they go? You need those little icons to share your business on social media. They’re an easy way for people to find your Facebook, Twitter and any other accounts you have.
Facebook Facebook is mostly for people you already know or have a connection with. You can make a Facebook page for your business and invite current personal friends to it, but it can be difficult for people that don’t know you to find. Once you have a good following, you can post notifications, reviews or give advice. Join similar FB profiles and become part of a community that fits in with your target market. Likes are key.
Twitter Twitter can be a powerful tool for a business. You can interact directly to your target market and stay up to date with trends and breaking news. The #hashtag groups posts with the same # together and makes it easy for people to find related posts. This helps you build a reputation. You can also follow gurus in your field and retweet their great insights.
This is all about picture sharing. If your business has anything to do with design, then you need to be on Pinterest. You can create topical pages that your prospective target market will look for.
YouTube
YouTube is visited more than Google; that’s something. This is an easy way to share a short video with the world about your company and what it’s up to.

MONEY Killing it on social media? Let us know @MC-World
If you’re in business, you’ve got to be on LinkedIn. You can choose to list your company or your personal profile or both. But most helpful about LinkedIn is that the people you are looking for, the ones you want to talk to about your next big project, are all over these pages. It keeps you in touch with people in your industry.
Google+ Not as popular as Facebook, but it does let you group people according to interests which can be useful to your business. It doesn’t hurt to spread yourself around as long as you keep all your accounts up to date.
MAKING A GOOD IMPRESSION PHOTOS Always use quality photos. Blurry, pixelated photos don’t give a good impression. Make sure they’re 72 150 dpi (dots per inch) - right click on the photo > properties > details Be picky, don’t post all 150 photos you take. Choose the best 1 or 2. PROFILE PIC DO’S AND DON’TS:
Social media is meant to spread your message and make your business appear more approachable. You want your followers to like and trust you. Here are some tips to help you make that happen.
TIME Spend at least an hour a week on your business social media. UPDATES Think before you post. The internet is forever even if you delete something as soon as you post it. Respond to questions. Nobody is going to visit your page if they think you’re not paying attention.

STYLE
BEST FACE FORWARD
Your survival guide to putting on the best face possible.
WINNING TIP: EXFOLIATION If you’re going to do one thing then exfoliation is key. Mild exfoliation once or twice a week will rejuvinate the skin and bring new life to your face. Exfoliation gets rid of dry, dull skin cells on the surface of your skin. This can keep pores from getting clogged and make your face feel fresh and clean. New, healthier skin cells will take their place, helping your face to look smoother and making the fine lines and wrinkles less obvious.
AGE SPOTS WHAT – Exposure to the sun can make your skin change colour by producing more melanin. FIX – Try a skin brightener that contains Vitamin C to make age spots less noticeable.
WRINKLES WHAT – Excessive sun and the aging process can cause wrinkles to appear on your face. FIX – Always use a sunscreen on your face when you go outside to reduce premature damage to your skin.
DRY SKIN WHAT – Too much sun and wind can dry out your skin, as well as not drinking enough water. FIX – Keep hydrated and use a moisturiser twice a day that is specific to your skin type.
RECEDING GUMS WHAT – Brushing your teeth too hard can push your gums away from your teeth. FIX – Brush softly with a soft-bristled toothbrush; there’s no need to grind your teeth clean.
SAGGING SKIN WHAT – Daily sun exposure makes the skin less elastic as you age. FIX – Use sunscreen and try a product containing creatine and cell active folic acid.

STYLE
HIDING A HANGOVER For when a hat and sunglasses just won’t do.
ACNE THE DAMAGE An outbreak could mean you didn’t wash your face well before bed. Cocktails loaded with carbs and sugar could also be to blame. THE FIX Find a mild cleanser with salicylic acid in it to wipe away dirt, open clogged pores, and dry zits.
PUFFY EYES THE DAMAGE Excess salt makes your body retain water and puffs out your eyes when you lie flat. THE FIX Drink some tea, then cool the tea bags in the fridge and place them on your eyes for a few minutes.
DRY SKIN THE DAMAGE Drinking alcohol can dehydrate you and not getting enough sleep can make your skin less elastic. THE FIX Smooth on a serum or cream with retinol, tretinoin, vitamin C and peptides and drink plenty of water.
DRY MOUTH THE DAMAGE Excessive salt or alcohol consumption dehydrates the inside of your mouth. THE FIX Brush your teeth and tongue well and follow up with a mouthwash rinse.
CHAPPED LIPS THE DAMAGE Again, drinking dehydrates you and this shows in your dry lips THE FIX Remove dead skin with a paste made of baking soda and water, rubbed in lightly with your finger. When the dry patches are rinsed away, seal in moisture with a protective coating of lip balm.

SEX
WHAT HAPPENS IN PORN... ...should probably stay in porn. You don’t have to behave like a pornstar to be great in bed. In fact, that may be the thing that’s keeping you from having a really good time.
IMPORTANT:
Don’t force your partner to do anything they don’t want to do. That’s just called abuse. Nobody thinks that’s sexy. And always use a condom.
1. Double penetration. Two wors, one roll. Nearly 1 in 5 porn scenes feature double penetration. Yet hardly anyone in the real world has tried it. Why? Because the majority of women would find it uncomfortable and painful.
II
18
IRL: Men enjoy the idea of the vaginal tightness that you would get if you doubled up. But you don’t have to phone a friend. Simply rub your penis between her tightly clinched thighs or use a vibrator designed to be comfortably inserted inside her along with your penis.
MCWORLD.CO.ZA | MAY 2015
SEX 2. She moans the entire time. Porn makes us think women should be moaning at our every touch. That’s just unrealistic. What’s worse is that it makes women fake it because they think it’s what you want. Everyone is different, but she’s not going to be in ecstasy every second.
II
IRL: Hearing crickets in bed? Try turning on porn in the background for a little inspiration. If neither of you are into that, try a playlist of sexy songs to get both of you in the mood and drown out the awkward silence.
3. Extreme dirty talk. A lot of the scenes in popular porn include namecalling. Why? Some people enjoy being in power and treating a woman as if she’s been bad. As if sex is should ever be a punishment. Some women like it, research suggests most don’t. So ask first.
II
!*# ! &@
IRL: You don’t have to be calling your girlfriend a whore to take control in the bedroom. Talk dirty by asking to do whatever it is you want to do to her. That way you’re sure she’s into it and you avoid making her feel powerless or getting slapped in the face.
MAY 2015 | MCWORLD.CO.ZA
19
SEX 4. The money shot. Ejaculating on her face is proof that what you’re looking at is real. This is why the guy in porn climaxes anywhere but inside the woman the majority of the time. People do this in real life, but most women don’t like the idea of it getting on their face or in their mouth.
II
IRL: Ask her what she likes way before you get down to it, not 30 seconds before you’re about to blow. Maybe she’s into it, just not in the face, but rather her stomach, breasts, or back.
5. He’s instantly hard. Penises are always ready to go in porn, which can make men feel like they’re a letdown if it’s not. The more porn a guy watches, the more likely he is to feel insecure about his erection and penis size.
II 20
IRL: Stop obsessing about your penis, it’s not all about you. Try connecting with your partner and you’ll see that sex isn’t just a game to win or something you do just for sport. You’re naked, you’re going to be vulnerable, just accept that and let her, or him, take the time to get you hard. Which can be fun in itself. MCWORLD.CO.ZA | APRIL 2015
Quickies Twitter hits I wonder if Superman ever put glasses on Lois Lane’s dog & she was like, “I’ve never seen this dog before. Is this a new dog?” I’ll bet when Godzilla first came out, God was like “Damn, that name’s way cooler.” They’ll never win a war on drugs. It’s hard enough to win a war even when you’re not on drugs. Nervous around the person you like? Sue them. They’ll be forced to see you in court, well dressed & in control. Let the law be your wingman. Our relationship with ants is weird. Ants are, like, “Hey, I only want these crumbs, ok?” and we’re all, “No you motherfucking will not.”
Chimp Hunters The chimpanzees of Fongoli, Senegal, regularly use spears to hunt other animals to eat. Females are the most likely to use tools to hunt; creating spears from tree branches that they trim and sharpen with their teeth. Source: www.timeslive.co.za Photo: Thomas Lersch
DID YOU KNOW? Compared to 166 267 in South Africa’s prisons
To avoid what? The rain?
Is anyone checking their tickets?
During the 18th Century, you could pay entrance to the London zoo by bringing a dog or cat to feed to the lions. Liechtenstein has a population of 37000 people, 7 of which are in prison. Bob Marley was seen as a “white man” while growing up in Jamaica, because he had a British father. He suffered racism and discrimination because of this. Dubai is building the world’s first indoor city, it will be 4.5 million square meters. Street dogs in Moscow have learned to take the trains into the city for food during the day, returning to the safer suburbs at night.
Oldest Champagne Ever Tasted A 19th Century shipwreck, found at the bottom of the Baltic Sea, held 168 bottles of champagne. The 170 year old champagne tasted “grilled, spicy, smoky and leathery with fruity and floral notes”, but also very sweet because Russians of the time preferred sweet wine. One bottle from the wreck sold at auction for $18 600.
