Avoiding a Costly Wedding

Avoiding a Costly Wedding The joyous event of a wedding can also be a costly one. To help save money on the special day there are a lot of tips and tricks and shortcuts that can be taken by the couple and their families to ensure the nuptials do not break the bank.

Saving Money With financial problems being the top reason for divorce in the United States it is important for a newlywed couple to not spend their life savings their wedding day as doing so may ironically start them down the road to breaking up by overspending on their marriage services. By doing this, overspending that is, a couple could make their wedding day literally the happiest day of their married life as it would all be downhill after that. But enough with the doom and gloom, everyone knows that saving money is generally a good idea so when it comes to a person’s wedding day the theory still applies. Saving extra dollars on the wedding services is something that all couples should at least consider; even if that means scaling back the dream wedding the bride was hoping for. One of the first ways to cut on wedding costs is to limit the amount of invites that a couple extends to others. By limiting the total number of people invited a couple will not only save on actual invitation cost but on other costs as well.

Wedding Invites By extending vast amounts of invitations to people the couple directly translates those invites into the overall costs of other wedding and receptions services required. The number of people invited to a reception, for example, directly correlates to how many people the caterers need to plan for and to the overall cost the caterer will charge due to the amounts of food they will be planning on providing. When a couple cuts the amount of people they invite the total cost of the wedding will decrease. Another helpful money saving idea for engaged couples is to invest in wedding packages offered by professional wedding planners. Wedding packages can be a great alternative to other money saving options as they are typically a set price for a number of services. By bunching different things such as the cake, catering service, reception entertainment, and wedding and reception locations under one set plan offered in a wedding package the couple will be able to save on the overall cost of having to purchase each of these items individually.

Often these wedding packages will include different services or amounts of service items included in order to appeal to a variety or potential customers. Use this to your advantage and only spend money on the wedding package that fulfills your needs at the best price. Other ways to save money on a wedding is by using family and friends to help with the preparations and services in place of hiring professionals. If a family has connections with a business or individual that can provided a valuable service such as a catering business or a professional grade photographer than these friendships and connections should be used to receive free services or discounted services. By shopping around wisely for the best deals and by using acquaintances to assist in the wedding, a couple can save potentially hundreds of dollars on their wedding day.
