A NOTE FROM THE PRO

A BIG THANKS goes out to you all for your support of our Brook Valley Golf Operations in 2021! It was our best season to date with active participation in all of our events. With several new members joining our Club over the past two seasons, it has been great to see so many new faces jump right into the mix and enjoy not only our golf events but everything Brook Valley has to offer! We had our most successful Member-Member Tournament to date as McConnell Golf facility with a record number of 76 participants. Men’s Night and Friday Couples Golf events were a hit as always. Our Junior Activities continued to grow and expand with additional Summer Camps and Operation 36 offerings. Plus we added on one of our biggest success of the season, Ladies Nine & Wine events that introduces several ladies to the game that had never even played before! At the time of this newsletter, we were on pace to at least match last year’s record number of rounds as we are set to go well over the 15,000 round mark for the second year in a row. Thank you all for making 2021 a year none of us will soon forget!

In 2022, we hope to continue to offer a little something for everyone to enjoy here at the course. You can find highlights of the 2022 Golf Calendar elsewhere in this newsletter. We have a mix of major events spread though out the year and will continue to offer plenty of fun events in between! Look for more details of each event to be released as we move throughout the year. Hard to believe MGA Men’s Night events will be here in just a couple months and the golf season will officially begin!

Finally I would like to add to the thanks to you all on behalf of our staff on your generous contributions to the employee holiday fund. All of us hear at the Club are greatly appreciative and we only hope to continue to serve you better in 2022! I look forward to seeing you all at the Club soon.

2021 BROOK VALLEY EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR TRAVIS WEBER

Congratulations to our First Assistant Golf Professional Travis Weber on being named the 2021 Employee of the Year for Brook Valley Country Club. It was a well-deserved honor as Travis helped in all facets of the Golf Operation for the season helping to cover many bases during the year as the Golf Team was down a professional for most of the season. Travis is a great asset to our excellent Junior Golf Program, helping to enhance our Operation 36 activities this season, along with helping to organize our Junior Interclub Team. His positive energy, enthusiasm and eagerness to improve all traits that have served him well as he has grown as a professional and as a part of our Brook Valley team. On a personal note Travis also married this fall to Elizabeth Tynch. Be sure to congratulate Travis when you see him around the Club!

BV MGA UPDATE

Thank you to all the members of the Brook Valley Men’s Golf Association for a fantastic 2021 season. We had our most members ever join the MGA, with 86 members participating in events. We offered 24 Men’s Night events with 780 participants – also a new high!! Art Graepel was once again victorious in the Scott Groot Match Play, successfully making his way through the match play bracket for the FOURTH year in a row. Throughout the season, participants in MGA events earn points in the “Race-to-the-Finish” Points Series. Martin Anderson won the regular season points title with 660 points, just ahead Cline Hall and with Micah Ball and Wade Stanley both in contention until the very end of the season. Cline Hall won the most events with seven victories and Frank Lee, Cam Edwards, Steve Wilson and Richard Wilson all participated in the most events playing in 27 MGA competitions. Don Morris was the 2021 MGA Shoot-Out Champion, winning the team title with partner Cam Edwards over Ross Ringler and Micah Ball.

Look for the Annual MGA Meeting to determine 2022 Officers and discuss activities for 2022 to be announced soon. Men’s Night events will start March 31 and the Scott Groot Match Play will begin the first full week of May. Look for other important dates on the 2022 Golf Schedule. If you are interested in joining the BV MGA in 2022, a formal announcement will go out early in the year. Dues will be payable at that time. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact a member of the Golf Shop staff, or a BV MGA Board Member. We look forward to another exciting year of MGA Golf!
