The 2021 RCC Ladies’ Member/Guest was indeed one for the record books with 80 ladies participating. Congratulations to all of our flight winners, and to every Member that invited a guest to enjoy our Donald Ross Design. As always, thank you to Billy Cole and his staff for presenting the course with such fantastic playing conditions! Thank you also to Bonnie Miller, Chef Greg Lyons, and the entire food and beverage staff for preparing and serving great meals and planning all of the wonderful events.

2021 MCCONNELL GOLF SOLHEIM CUP CHAMPIONS
In August, your Raleigh Country Club Ladies' Solheim Cup Team successfully defended their championship at Brook Valley after heavy rains in the Greenville NC area caused the cancellation of the first round. The entire Staff at Brook Valley did an outstanding job showcasing their talents and providing a safe and exciting tournament for the ladies of McConnell Golf. Congratulations to Becca McKinney, Ros Carroll, Terry Gross, Gloria Allen, Elly Matteis, Liz Harper, and Brenda Del Nero for bringing the trophy back home to Raleigh Country Club!
Lopez Flight Champions – Jodie Myers, Sally Grogan, Jamie Barron, and Joellyn Crooks
A warm and humid day didn’t slow down the good scores to close out the Senior, Super Senior, Ladies' and Junior Club Championships. The course having dense rough and playing firm and fast further delineated golfers resulting in the eventual champions rising to the top. In the Junior Club Championship 10-13 age division, Tyler Hilldale won his first championship after two great 9-hole rounds!
Preston Hage, after shooting an impressive 78-74 from the blue tees, also won his first Junior Club Championship by two shots. Congratulations to Becca McKinney for winning her 12th(!) Ladies’ Club Championship, further cementing herself as one of the all-time great RCC Champions. In the Super Senior division, Bill Hoffman came from behind shooting a 73 to win by 2-shots. Successfully defending his title, Dave Glabicki won the Senior Club Championship torching the golf course and shooting 70-69.

Congratulations to Cyrus Stewart (defending Men’s Club Champion) on his 2nd place finish at the 14th North Carolina Amateur Match Play Championship in Winston-Salem and current Junior Club Champion Preston Hage on his T-6 finish at the 2021 US Kids World Team Championship at Pinehurst.
SHOTS OF EXCELLENCE
Raleigh Country Club has recorded four Holes in One and two Double Eagles by our Members since opening last November. Congratulations to Fred Gahl (#14), Bajin Han (#17), Josh Decker (#14), and Toler Shore (#17) on their shots of excellence. Not to be outdone, Bo Pulley and Long Wang (pictured on the right) have both recorded the extremely rare “Double Eagle” on Hole #1!
