CLUB UPDATE
A Note From Your General Manager
Welcome to Spring! The ACC Women’s Championship was a huge success as many members donated their time to volunteer, and it was greatly appreciated! Congratulations to Clemson for their victorious win against Virginia in a close match up Sunday. Next up is our 2023 Spring Sedgefield Cup Member-Guest tournament that is being hosted at the end of the month This summer we also welcome back the AJGA as we host them again June 12-16. We will need volunteers again for this event, so we look forward to having you join us once it is announced
Live After Five started on Tuesday, April 18 and filled the patio. The weather was perfect, music fantastic and cuisine superb. We are all greatly enjoying the beautiful patio expansion that was completed about a year ago, time sure does fly! Summer is around the corner and I hope we have many, many more days like that. Our 2023 pool season will be here before we know it and we will have new lounge chairs on the deck, pole lights surrounding the pool, revamped diving boards and a freshly painted slide. It should be a fun summer here at Sedgefield!
The clubhouse exterior has also had a small face lift, replacing the rotten wood and windows on the back of the clubhouse has given it a fresh look for the upcoming season Over the next year we will continue to replace windows and wood around the clubhouse exterior We also plan to update both the Sam Snead Cottage and Apartment as soon as possible. With new flooring throughout, updated bathrooms and ceilings on the agenda, they will feel much more like home for all those visiting We have replaced the HVAC in the café dining area and kitchen and we also have a new grill on the way for our summer night cookouts. Inside the clubhouse kitchen, we also plan to shift some things around We will be moving the dry food storage room upstairs to the main kitchen so that during peak times it will be more efficient for our kitchen team
Now a look at The Cardinal! The back of the clubhouse stair cases should be completed at this time and look fantastic We plan to strip and paint or stain the patio next to Pete’s Tavern to give it a fresh look for all members and visitors. The patio has new umbrellas and fresh greenery to make it a more relaxed atmosphere while you are enjoying lunch or a drink from Pete's Place All of the carpet replacement should be completed with the pro shop being moved upstairs. Guests every day walk around the clubhouse asking “where’s the pro shop”. So, now the bag drop off, cart staging, and pro shop are on the same level with the bag drop and cart station being moved next to the practice green All of these changes are to be more efficient and increase member services to all of those visiting Oh, and by the way, a NEW MENU! Chris Terry and his team really go above and beyond to make your
CARDINAL buzz
