lot of parents might look forward to a new ‌school year, but let’s be real, most kids find it to be kind of a bummer. It is, after all, the end of the lazy-hazy days of summer. This time around, how about showing your kids that going back to school doesn’t have to be a drag? Help ease the jitters and get them excited for new beginnings by enjoying some school-themed family time at a Back to School Family Fun Night. Back to School Family Fun Night is an awesome end-of-summer celebration that features a familyfriendly buffet, fun “name that school snack” game and a chance to win a backpack filled with school supplies or other prizes from event sponsor Mattel. It’s also the perfect opportunity to get in some quality time before things get a little hectic.

CCS Youth and Teen Centers are the place to be for kids. Each day, centers on Camps Courtney, Foster and Kinser have activities and events planned to not only stave off boredom, have fun and make new friends, but they can also learn more about themselves, the local community and how to improve both. Students between the ages of 10 and 18 are invited to hang out after school and on the weekends with their buddies while they watch movies, play video games, challenge each other in board games and more (even study)! Along with various activities, each center hosts a variety of clubs and classes for youth and teens to engage in, such as Book Club, Art Club, Cooking Club and more. Throughout the month, the Youth and Teen Centers schedule crafts, sports, membership appreciation parties and themed events for

members to enjoy. And don’t forget the Lock-In events, where members are invited to stay the night at the facility and play games, watch movies and eat yummy snacks. Know of any kids lounging on the couch that may be interested? Download the Youth and Teen Registration Packet off the MCCS

Child and Youth Program website or pick one up at your nearest center. The simple questionnaire needs to be filled out by a parent and then submitted. It’s that easy. For contact information and center locations or to download your registration packet, visit mccsokinawa.com/cyp.
