Six ladies vie for Miss Macomb title on Sunday MACOMB — Six young women will vie for the title of Miss Macomb 2015 during the 56th annual Miss Macomb Scholarship Pageant, to be held on Sunday, March 1, Macomb High School's Fellheimer Auditorium, according to a news release. Miss Macomb 2014 Lauren Martin will host the pageant. Kelsey Reed, Miss Macomb 2010, will emcee the show. The theme for this year’s show is “ROAR," highlighting the music of Katie Perry. Also appearing in the show will be Ali Nicole Browning and Sophie Russell. Last year the Miss Macomb Scholarship Pageant gave $7,750.00 in scholarships to its contestants, the highest amount of scholarship dollars of any local pageant in the state of Illinois. The fundraiser mainly responsible for these scholarships is the annual Auc-
tion and Dinner held in February each year. Three scholarships will be given this year by the Altrusa Club of Macomb to the contestants with the best Platform Issue Essay. The top scholarship of $250 will be given to the winner and the two runners-up to this award will each be given a $50 scholarship by Altrusa. All the platforms will be judged initially by a committee of the Altrusa Club, and they will pick three. The morning of the pageant, before interviews, the judges of the pageant will pick the best Platform Issue Essay, and the two runners-up out of the three chosen by the Altrusa Club. Scholarship donations have also been made by many other individuals and businesses. Volunteers working on the pageant are hostesses Babs Becker, Marta Clugston-Ewen, Kristen
