First Bankers highlight 2014 MACOMB/QUINCY — Last year hit record share earnings for First Bankers Trustshares, Inc., according to a recent news release. From 2013, earnings per share were over 27 percent, $2.32, for fourth quarter in 2014. The bank said it was a result of finestanding fee income, increased net interest, as well as its continues focus on expenses. Total net income for First Bankers, for the first time, crossed the "$7 million threshold," the release stated, for a total near $7.2 million. The shares' interest margin advanced to 2.95 percent, assets remain "solid," and deposits swelled over $667 million. "I continue to remain optimistic for the future as the margin should, hopefully, continue to widen," said bank president and CEO Arthur Greenbank in the release. On May 12, the bank invites shareholders to attend the annual meeting at 9 a.m. at the main facility in Quincy at 12th and Broadway streets.
Ashley Plumb awarded Bank Senior of the Month MACOMB – Ashley Plumb, daughter of Christine and James Plumb, has been named the MidAmerica National Bank Senior of the Month for February, according to a
news release. The release describes Plumb as an involved student. In high school she has participated in cross country, track, Spanish club, math team, science Olympian, dance team and VOICES. Ashley’s work experience includes working at Hy-Vee for a year and a half. After high school Ashley plans to attend St. Ambrose University and major in Criminal Justice. As the February Senior of the Month, Ashley was presented a cash award of $100.00 and is eligible for the Senior of the Year Award in May 2015. She has earned honors throughout her high school years; these include being a member of the National Honor Society, Society for Academic Achievement, Illinois State Scholar, and Most Valuable for cross country. Community involvement is also very important to Ashley, according to the release. She baked cookies for seniors at Wesley Village, participated in secret Santa gifts for a family in need, Keokuk earth day city clean up, and the Mississippi River clean up. Ashley enjoys doing DIY craft projects (Christmas gifts, birthday cards, decorations).
