New Artists 2024
Sara Andrews is a nature-inspired watercolorist and oil pastel artist from Western New York. Growing up, she spent her days outdoors, fostering a deep love for nature. She is a military wife, bunny farmer, and homeschool teacher, painting in her free time.
Sara has been painting for three years and is grateful for her God given talent that she is able to share with the world. She is also an art teacher and tutorer who loves teaching new budding artists as much as she enjoys producing her own work. Sara aspires to open her own studio someday when her kids are grown but is currently content in the work she is able to produce as a busy Mom of five.
bringing a sense of calm and tranquility to their owners. Elena is also environmentally conscious. She donates part of her income to groups that clean beaches and study marine life, believing that everyone should contribute to caring for our planet. Through her photography and support of environmental projects, Elena aims to make the world a better and more beautiful place for everyone.
Bart Levy
Bart Levy believes it is the job of an artist to portray the heart of the landscape in a way that calls to the heart of a viewer, whether the landscape is literal or abstract. The essence becomes visible.
She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University and worked as a graphic designer and marketer before returning full time to painting. She has been in juried exhibitions throughout Virginia and North Carolina.
James
Shull
In the late eighties, James Shull had the opportunity to work in a printing press at his high school, which incidentally was well-equipped with a darkroom. This experience provided the source code for what became one of the principal efforts of his life. From then on, he never put the camera down. He spent the better part of his twenties learning and working in commercial photography, while gleaning inspiration from the likes of Edward Weston and other legendary American westcoast photographers. Amidst having a military career which spanned over two decades with relocations across the U.S., James continued to explore and capture imagery that appeals to a sense of placeproviding him with something that he can’t quite define with certainty. It’s been over 35 years of wandering, accompanied by profound serendipitous moments of “…that just works!” He is compelled to explore the spaces where nature and human influence intersect, like the discoveries he’s uncovered in the rusted-out detritus of an American ghost town, the stacked fishing gear in an east-coast marina, or the reconstituted adobe architecture of the Spanish missions throughout the west. It is these relatively commonplace, sometimes mundane, features of our landscape that beg for him to see them with a more curious eye.
