A word from Peter Chauncy While many things have been very different in our lives the last 12 months, we are pleased to share our 2019-2020 financial year sales figures varied only slightly compared to the previous year. With a total of 43 sales for the house market and 48 sales across the townhouse and apartments sector, we saw an increase in the average property sale price from $2.19m to $2.35m for houses and $1.16m to $1.25m for townhouses and apartments. Naremburn had some new records set this year including a suburb record with the sale of 28 Rhodes Avenue for $4.96m. McGrath also achieved five records for the suburb, including the highest sale price for 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. My team also achieved the year´s highest sale price both for a semi detached home and a townhouse. Despite some unfavourable predictions for the property market during the first six months of the year as a result of COVID-19, and the consequential suspension of open houses and on-site auctions, the team and I maintained momentum in the Naremburn area with a market share of 75% for houses and 58% for townhouses and apartments.
We received some high accolades throughout the year with our team ranking number 1 out of the entire McGrath network for the financial year. After 16 years with the company, I was also extremely honoured to be awarded the Founders Award for 2019 at the annual McGrath Awards. We are also proud to have continued our association with the Naremburn Community Gardens and Willoughby Community Preschool and look forward to continuing working alongside them next year. Recent months of course have seen buyers experience a level of uncertainty, but the market continues to perform exceptionally well, and we anticipate a strong spring season. We have received a lot of buyer enquiry and with stock levels remaining low, now is an excellent time to take the step forward on your property journey.
