Launched in Sydney in 2007, the name Murchison-Hume is that of Max’s father-in-law, Dr. Roderick Murchison-Hume Kater. Max says, ‘From the moment I heard it I loved it. To me, it has just the right mix of style and old-school gravitas.’ Given her former life in fashion publishing, Max couldn’t bring herself to fill the house with drab bottles that smelled terrible, so beautiful packaging and light, natural, perfume-grade fragrances were given as much importance as the green credentials. Why shouldn’t cleaning be as enjoyable as possible? Murchison-Hume’s surface cleaning products are based on Colloidal Technology (the same technology used to clean up the ocean in the event of an oil spill). That means it has to be both industrially strong, and also safe enough for use in a living, marine environment; clever, safe and strong - much better than your average supermarket cleaner.
