Dawn Hodson Staff writer A woman was fatally struck by at least two vehicles on Highway 50 near El Dorado Hills early Thursday morning after driving the wrong way in eastbound lanes, overturning her vehicle on a 30-foot embankment and then running onto the freeway, according to investigators with the California Highway Patrol. The incident occurred around 4:15 a.m. Aug. 6 near the Sacramento County/El Dorado County line between Latrobe Road and East Bidwell Street. The victim, identified as 37-year-old Crystal Mora of Sacramento, was pronounced dead at the scene. Westbound lanes of Highway 50 were closed at El Dorado Hills Boulevard through the early morning hours. The incident remains under investigation and no other details were available as of press time.

Now Ross resides in El Dorado Hills with her 9-year-old son Ryder and creates splendor via murals throughout the county. Her father’s name is Bob Ross who, although a painter, is definitely not the same Bob Ross of television fame, she shared, explaining that her interest in art started early through her dad’s influence and by 17 years old she created her first mural depicting a giant chicken on the side of a feed

CSD to reopen its after-school program soon Sel Richard Staff writer The El Dorado Hills Community Services District is once again offering its own after-school program, Adventure Zone, slated to begin Aug. 17. After an incident involving a lost child during its 2019 spring break camp, the CSD offered summer and afterschool programs through the Boys and Girls Club while it regrouped and rebuilt the youth and teen services program’s safety and operational protocols. More than a year later, the new program will be operated by CSD staff with the purpose “to provide a safe, caring and enriching environment,” said CSD Recreation Director Michael Cottrell, assuring that robust protocols, procedures and expectations have been created and implemented in the program. “Staff are trained on all facets of the program and will be audited n
