This can turn an otherwise helpful appli ance into a disaster waiting to happen.“Iwasan inspector for PG&E for over 30 years and saw this first hand,” he Reese retired from the company and was between jobs when a neighbor asked him to help her with her dryer because it stopped working. He pulled up a YouTube DIY video and figured out the problem was a clogged vent. After unclogging it, and putting it all back together, it worked like a charm. “She thought I should do this cleaning as a retire ment job,” Reese said. So after thinking about it for a time, he got the permits and put up a website. He advertised on Angie’s List. The name of the busi ness comes from a neigh bor boy who couldn’t say “Scott” and would always call him Dot instead. The nickname stuck. He thought it would be a good name for the business. “I was on vacation when I got my first business call. They asked if I was insured and I said yes,” Reese said. “I came back and fixed his dryer and I have been busy everTheresince.”are more reasons to get dryer vents cleaned out. Christy Conigliaro worked in res taurants for 12 years before transition ing into social work after earning a master’s degree at California State University, Long Beach and has been working in the field for the past 15 years. She stepped away from her position as a licensed clinical thera pist for OLE Health in Napa to join her husband at their restaurant.
“I’m not bragging, because people have told me it was the best burger they ever had,” he said.
The small kitchen has made for the biggest challenge because it limits the hours they can be open. Perhaps someday there will be an evening event spot, but not today. Opening a restaurant during a pan demic posed some other challenges, such as suppliers not being able to bring in the same quality of supplies every week or even the same brands –along with watching the prices of everything from eggs to potatoes rise.

The restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch because of the limitations of the kitchen space. “We are only allowed two meal periods by the county,” Guy Conigli aro said. “That was the way Valley Cafe was for 30 years.”
“The Valley Cafe was not for sale when we came here,” he said. “We talked with the owners and they thought about it and decided to sell.” So they took over the old Valley Cafe space Feb. 1, 2018, and reopened Feb. 22, 2018. “It is a great space,” he said.

After moving to Fairfield from Southern California in 2018, they quickly fell in love with Suisun Valley and recognized a business environ ment in need for a second full-service dining experience. “I worked for Mankas Grill and saw how busy they were. That was when I realized they needed another eatery in the Valley,” Guy Conigliaro said. With a culinary degree from the California School of Culinary Arts and 14 years of management, Guy Conigli aro has never ventured out of the food service industry, holding nearly every position from busser to chef and general manager.
He said he was not happy to have raised prices but if supplies go back to a normal price, he said he will lower the menu prices.
