MOONEE PONDS CREEK

a stretch of land under the bridge, unutilised or unconsidered? the dynamic site, ever changing, shifting and moving can be considered an organism itself. a tool of mediation, departure and arrival. the dynamic quality and strategy here lies with the rising water levels and the ability to manipulate people to move in certain directions and at different speeds. the permeable decking allows water to rise. at each level (high, medium and low tide) a critical path is revealed

A R C H I T E C T U R E A DOMESTIC PRODUCT the domestic product is interested in surveying and proposing formal and social consequences of domesticity . this test focuses on an interpretation of the 2009 ‘ f a m i l y l i f e ’ a n d d o m e s t i c i t y. t h e i d e a that the house is only used by one person at a time during the d a y. w i t h o u r s o c i a l , w o r k a n d educational commitments, it is suggested that the house is only a PIT STOP to the next destination an is only inhabited for

A R C H I T E C T U R E T H E COMMISSION F L A T S displacement and detachment characterise many sites which the commission flats reside on. unaware and blocked from its surrounding context, the over-scaling of the commission flats serve their purpose without the consideration of the city itself. this densification of the site targets an architecture that reaches beyond the four corners of the existing site and uses strategies such as t r a n s p a r e n c y , overlapping and masking to c i v i c a l l y two

two towers which emerge from the man made landscape, sitting at the water ’s edge creating a choreography between figure, ground, entry and exit. this project is about the contradiction that is creating a ‘natural’ building on a ‘man made’ surface. the contradiction suggests that the ambiguity of the definition of natural vs. man made results in forms reflective of the existing context

everything must be revolutionised. roofs and underground spaces must be used; the importance of the facade must be diminished; the end of traditional conditions must be used to create new ones; an apple core window must represent those viewing out onto the street but should be more subtle in appearance. a corrugated shed is not only the storage structure, the man cave, material of neglect. rather a fully furnished embryo of p o s s i b l e l i v i n g t y p o l o g y. t h e back yard will be the front yard; visitors will search for doors only to find that they are non-existent. only a close friend would know the protocol. the street will no longer lie like a doormat at ground level, but will plunge down into the earth, embracing the metropolitan traffic, and will be linked up for n e c e s s a r y interconnections by metal gangways and swif

A R C H I T E C T U R E F O R E S H O R E _SAN REMO the once booming fishing community of san remo, phillip island, is now merely a remnant in the bass coast landscape. the historical town, home to the penguin parade, moto gp, music festivals and swimming events, just to n a m e a f e w, i s f a c e d w i t h the problem of ‘feast and famine’. the 3.1 million people that visit every year are merely passers buy or ant-residents. this project embraces and nurtures the idea that this stop by town can be economically sustainable as well as civically sustainable for the permanent residents. concurrently this structure acts as icon/monument that deflects the idea of a ‘drive
