EXTRAVAGANZA Deniliquin’s Easter

Already popular with visitors at Easter because of the ideal water sports conditions, Deniliquin and district really puts on a show for the annual holiday.

You can explore a veritable array of arts and cultural events, sporting pursuits and more – or just enjoy the beautiful weather, shopping and the outdoor spaces at your disposal in this amazing community.

A number of individual events come under the umbrella of Easter Fest in the Edward River Council region each year.

We’ll explore some of these in detail in the coming pages, but it would be remiss of us not to provide you with an overall snapshot of the long weekend in store.

Think live music, art exhibitions and market, tennis and bowls tournaments, and twilight rodeo under the stars and even football and netball matches to devour at your leisure.

Now tradition, the South West Music Regional Conservatorium will again host a special children’s concert during the weekend, and our talented local youth musicians will also get their chance to put on a show with the now annual Battle of the Bands.

On the arts front is the long-running Rotary Easter Art Show – a collaboration between Deniliquin Rotary, Edward River Art Society and artists from all over the district.

Complementing this exhibition, which is conveniently located in the heart of the Deniliquin CBD, will be Edward River Council’s annual Art Out Market in the Deniliquin Waring Gardens.

On the sporting front you have the traditional Good Friday football and netball matches, the Deniliquin Rodeo Under the Stars, the Western Riverina Tennis Championships and Easter bowls tournaments.

And not too far away in Mathoura, you also have the Mathoura Easter Fair on Easter Saturday.

All rolled in to one weekend, Deniliquin and district becomes a mecca for visitors and locals alike who want to take the long weekend to relax and make memories.

Book your accommodation or camping site and come join us for another big Easter.
