Picola League Finals
Adam Bodey - Newly appointed captain who has led the club exceptionally well. One of the premier ruckmen whose follow up work compliments the work of his midfield.
Alex Hay - The non-playing coach who has an uncanny ability to sustain long term injuries.
Allan Bond - Mr Reliable. Bondy rarely makes a mistake, whose game smarts and experience has complimented the work of a young side.
Brady Trotman - The player who drives the standards with his training and work ethic which has translated into an exceptional year on field. He has added a great dynamic to the midfield and taken the names of the league best forwards when playing in defence.
Brendan Hope - Heart and soul of the club. Playing at centre-half forward for most of the season brings a physical presence and leadership that makes his teammates walk taller.
Cameron Wills - Smooth, cleanest hands in the league and an exceptional decision maker who has stepped up into the senior side and had immediate impact. An incredible game sense who has the ability to set a teammate free from congestion like no other.
Connor Didcock - Hard running forward of the ball, through the middle of the ground and down back. One of the team’s most versatile assets who has great foot skills and has made a flawless transition into senior football.
Dylan Mills - Plagued with soft tissue injury, particularly during the start of the week. Takes great care in not over training to ensure that he is in peak condition for game day. A super boot from full back and takes great pride in applying physical pressure by any means necessary.
Harry Mcilwain - The super sub who has great impact as soon as he crosses the line. Great skill and composure with the ball in traffic as well as a class finisher. Looking very comfortable at senior level.
Harry Turner - New to the club and has given the team a new look across half forward. A raking left foot who always makes the right decision. Sets the standard with his strength over the ball, courage in spades and once you’re tackled, you stay tackled.
Harry Way - A deft hand in the ruck with natural ability that can’t be taught. Rare for a ruckman to have the craft and skill with the ability to push forward and hit the scoreboard at such a young age. Scary to think about what the future holds.
Hayden Barker - A player who has transformed the side. An exceptional contested mark and a dead eye set shot from range. He has quickly become one of the league’s most dominant forwards who has added another element of leadership, taking the team to the next level.
Jack Pekin - The enigma. Some of the things Jack does on the field will leave you scratching your head. An uncanny ability to find the ball and do something miraculous whether he meant it or not. You know that he is going to
give you every ounce of what he has and is a valued teammate.
Jackson Muldoon-Leetham - Limited game time this year due to a long-term injury, but showed great potential at the start of the year. An extremely hard worker with beautiful foot skills, natural talent and ability that will have him playing a key role in the years to come.
Jai Ezard - Similar to Trent McKenzie, capable of unleashing a 60m bomb. Foot skills that have become a genuine weapon at either end of the ground and growing into his role every week. He has been a big reason why the side has continued to grow consistently through the year.
James Gilligan - The warrior who gives more of himself than anyone who puts on the jumper. He has been an incredible leader over a long period of time. The ability to read the play and intercept the ball across halfback gives great confidence to his teammates and consistently delivers the ball beautifully by foot.
James Kirby - An exceptional ruckman who has had to shoulder a large load in the forward line this year. Game smarts, marking ability and long-range foot skills makes him a huge threat and an extremely valuable player to the structure of the side.
Jordyn McCulloch - A player that you would hate to match up on. Brings a tenacity to whatever role that he is playing, particularly down back where he doesn’t give an inch. At his best, repels forward attacks from deep in defence and provides great run and carry through the middle of the ground.
Joseph Hay - Plays a body line style of football who has made the run down tackle a feature of his game. Great skill and finishing ability that has made a habit of standing up and performing in big moments. Every time he takes the field, he makes his teammates better.
Kaiden Joss - Skilful winger who has made that position his own. Huge work rake and exceptional decision making makes him a treat every time he is near the ball. He has become such an asset with his ability to set up play forward of the ball.
Lachie Trotman - Skilful and a calm head under pressure who rarely makes a mistake with ball in hand. Lach has been an exceptional addition to the club and has been a great leader on field. Unfortunately sidelined for most of the year with injury, he has been missed.
Liam East - A wonderful young leader who has played a huge role in forming the connection within the playing group. Voice and direction have been a feature of his game and has shown the ability to shut down some of the league’s best players. Courageous in the air and extremely skilful by hand and foot makes him damage when in possession.
Liam Headon - The Adonis at the club with a wonderful work ethic which translates off field. A fierce competitor who brings a different skill set in tackling and clean hands
Rovers is so proud of our 4 football teams and 7 netball teams on making finals!
Deniliquin Rovers Football & Netball Club would like to thank all our sponsors for their ongoing support in the 2023 season. Your contribution is invaluable to us.
There is a positive vibe around the club, both on and off the field, with everyone committed to making the club a very successful club.
This cannot be done without a lot of work by volunteers, coaches, players, their families, supporters and committee members. Thank you for your hard work and support throughout the year.
around the ball from playing at a high level. The ultimate team man who plays a role through the midfield that allows others to get to work.
Logan Leiper - Although he is only transitioning into senior football, he sets the tone on game day with his fierce attack on the ball and intensity to win it back. He has played a major role through the middle of the ground as a hard nosed centerman and has been sorely missed throughout the year due to injury.
Peter Lewis - The ultimate backman who has made it impossible over a number of years for a forward to get an easy possession. A great leader and a general on field who has been critical to the set up and organisation of the team’s structure. Fact: he once punched a hole in the ball.
Raymond Murphy - Young player who has started to find his feet at senior level. He has been working hard on consistency throughout the year with a focus on skill development to improve his foot skills. Keep working hard Raymond.
Scott Howard - The ever-reliable half forward whose experience and game smarts make him an extremely valuable asset particularly in guiding the next generation. His direction on field has made his team mates better every week. The occasional lead up clunk and 45m drop punt for a maximum keeps everyone on edge.
Terry Lumbar - A club great who continues to produce football at a level that commands respect. He has found form throughout the year which has formed a formattable combination deep in the forward line with experience that is invaluable for his teammates around him. The set shot is as reliable as ever, loyal supporters know that when he kicks inside 50 its going to be a goal.
Thomas Chandler - The dedicated wingman who has made the position his own. An incredible ability to run hard between the arcs all day has seen him have a breakout year. The ability to finish his work and hit the scoreboard has transformed him into one of the most damaging wingmen in the league.
Tom Blake - A wonderful reader of the play and interceptor of the ball which is crucial to the performance of the team. His marking ability and one-on-one work allows his midfield and forward to make early position with the confidence that he will win the ball and use it well by hand or foot in nearly any position on the ground. Swings forward when a goal or five is needed.
Tyson Willis - A wonderful talent with exceptional speed and skill. With the ability to read the game four or five plays ahead he has an uncanny ability to find space and be extremely damaging in front of goal. This is complimented by an unassuming aerial ability makes him a threat in a number of positions and a nightmare to play on.

Chrissy Hurst (vice captain, GK, GD) - The dominant defender in the goal circle, her ability to read play and contest ball is second to none. Creates turnovers week-in and weekout. Puts doubt in the goalie’s mind with her ability to execute rejections.
Natalie Sampson (captain GK, GD) - A very hands-on player who uses her voice to benefit the whole team. Returning from an injury, she has seamlessly slotted back into the side. A very competent rebounder who is always up for a challenge.
Elena Mulham (WD, GD, GK) - First year out of juniors and stepping up into A-grade, Elena’s awareness and defensive pressure undermines the confidence of her opposition. With quick reflexes, her arms come up out of nowhere to affect the intercept. A quiet assassin who consistently goes out and gets the job done.
Chloe Way (WD, GD, GK) - In her first year at Rovers, Chloe has brought over some great attributes and has found her position down in the defensive end. She contests every ball and creates havoc for her opponent. Her speed and drives are her greatest assets.
Gabby Barlow (C, WD) - Another first year player at Rovers, Gabby’s ability to switch from attack to defence is her key attribute. With a wealth of experience and a very competitive nature, she gives 110 per cent and creates huge midcourt pressure resulting in turnovers.
Sienna Jenkins (C, WA) - A very versatile player through the midcourt who offers speed and endurance. Will always pop up out of nowhere. Drives fast and changes direction to keep her opponents on the run.
Chloe Brown (WA, GA, GS) - Chloe has come back home from the GVL this year to finish off Year 12. Her precise footwork and agility is second to none, allowing for accurate feeds into the goalies. Creating space is Chloe’s biggest asset, whilst her determination and accuracy in goals are what make her opponents think twice.
Abbey Wills (GS, WD) - Abbey started the year off in defence but now has found her place in goals. Her strong hands, body positioning and drives onto the ball are exceptional. An accurate shooter who makes them count when it matters. Always has a never give up attitude.
Hazel Glowrey (WD, C, WA) - One of the juniors making her way through the A-grade side this year, Hazel has stepped out on the court against some tough opponents in tight games, well and truly earning her place. Her defensive pressure and speed, coupled with her ability to read the play, make life difficult for her opponents and she always gives 110 per cent.
Carissa Bulmer (GS, GA, WA, coach) - A dominant force in goals, Carissa brings extensive experience to the side. With a never-giveup attitude and ability to read the play, she takes on the toughest defenders whilst maintaining great accuracy.

DENI ROVERS RESERVES:
Matthew Horne (co-coach)Horne has taken on the coaching role alongside Bam this season, and has been known to hit the scoreboard. Will be looking to guide his team well throughout the finals campaign.
Ben McCalman (co-coach)Bam is a hard at it midfielder who smiles as he is about to hit a pack. Has the ability to break open a game and will be a vital cog in the Rovers engine room this finals campaign.
Daniel Mison (captain) - Mouse is the captain of the side and the ultimate leader, clubman and backman. Always gives it his all and has been known to play just as hard off the field.
Matthew Johnson (vice captain)
- After putting in a solid preseason Matty J has been devastated by injury throughout the year. If he can get his body right, he will play a pivotal role down back this finals series.
John Allitt (vice captain) - The vice-captain of the side who consistently leads from the front and surprises many an opposition player with his elusive footwork and leg speed. An ever-reliable ruckman who continues to impress each week with his ruck work and supplies our midfielders with first use.
Lachie Trotman - Whilst spending much of the season on the sidelines with a hand injury, Lachie has been a great addition to Roverland this season. A classy midfielder who thrives on the contest and will be
winning plenty of hard ball.
Caleb Weir - A reliable footballer with a cracking physique. Our 2021 Best & Fairest winner who continues to improve each year and has been known to excite on ladies’ day.
Alex Rourke - After missing the first round due to Formula 1 commitments, Rourkey has a been a great contributor either down back or in the midfield. His leadership and voice on the field has been as important as his ability to win the contested ball.
Tim McDonnell - Big Tim has the ability to destroy opposition teams with his ruck work, clean hands and lethal kick. Can play all over the ground and will be a pivotal factor this finals series.
John Glowrey - Plough is the Michael Tuck of the Deniliquin Rovers, plays with his heart on his sleeve and seems to have found a spring in his step after relinquishing the coaching role.
Jackson Campbell - A speedy wingman who is always on the move. It has been great having him back at the club following a stint in Western Australia.
Terry Lumbar - T-Train is arguably the Rovers greatest ever forward, with speed to burn and vice like hands, he will be sure to be kicking goals this finals series. As the rumour has it, the gate takings have increased significantly since the B-grade assistant coach has returned to the field.
Bailey Caruso - Baz is a very dangerous forward who can turn defenders inside out and is relentless with his second and third efforts. Will be the X-factor in the forward line and hitting the scoreboard wherever possible.
Cameron Robinson - A lead up forward with a good set of hands and a steady kick. Will most likely spend some time in the ruck where he thrives on the contest.

Jack Pekin - Peko can play a key position forward or back and is equally as good in the midfield. Playing a mixture of seniors and seconds this year, and then a heap of time with Harry Houdini, the real question is will he play?
Brett Rose - Rosie returned to Roverland this year and has quickly claimed a wing position. A selfless player who trains and prepares well, and always gives his all on game day.
Jay McCully - Jay has continued to improve his football this season and has stood up in some big
moments. He is young and fit and will continue to create goal scoring opportunities for our forwards.

Simone Lumbar (GA/GS) - Our playing coach and quick thinker. An adaptable player who can think two passes ahead to set up play in the forward line. She will play any role needed to ensure the team’s success.
Sarah Purtill (WA/C) - Our captain and speedy midcourter. Has the ability to play multiple positions and she will expose any opposition mistakes. Fast to jump on loose balls and back up teammates, she gives a solid performance every time and will only stop once the final whistle sounds.
Brittany Kirby (C/WD) - Our vice captain is the pinnacle at which fitness and determination meet. A technical player who will perform any role given to her above expectations. Key strengths she brings on court are a positive voice and a masterclass in tagging and shutting an opponent out of the game.
Brittany Edwards (GS/GA) - Our go to for volume scoring. Britt has stamped her authority in the goal circle from round one, consistently demonstrating the ability to hold, move and adjust her game. Her ideal shooting range? Anywhere in the circle.
Montana Muldoon-Leetham (WA)Attacker with defensive strength. At this point in the season, Moo only has one type of drive - hard and fast. She has refined her ability to use her strength to win ball on offence and defence this season.
Georgia McCulloch (WD/GD) - Our X factor. A fast and powerful player that can come out of nowhere for an intercept or deflection. Keep an eye out for her exceptional vertical leap.
Jackie Thorpe (GD/WD) - Efficiency is Jackie’s motto. An expert in hedging, with a deceptive reach, make her a difficult defender to read, causing havoc for opposing attackers. Watch her watch the play, you’ll see her insert herself at critical moments with flawless timing.
Jemma Keast (GK) - Our last line of defence. Nothing is more important to Jem than protecting that post. A keen team player with an unmatchable ability to lift morale,
she has added more strings to her bow this season to enable her to shut down the opposition’s shooting circle.
Isabella McIlwain (GK/GS) - Our impact gal. Will you see her shooting or defending? Even we don’t always know. Bell bursts into the game whichever end we need her to causing huge upset to the opposition. Her reach over a shot, quick footwork and rebounding power makes her a danger for the opposition defenders and shooters alike.

are always impressive. One of the best netball brains on the court. Our girls definitely look to her for experience.
Phoebe Keech (playing coach) - By far the loudest on the court. Paired up with Kat in defence, once she decides to hold someone out there is no getting around her. Definitely the comedian of the group.
Janelle Handy - Back with the ‘Cutters after a few years away, and by god are we glad. She can play both attack and defence, but her strongest attribute is her positivity and encouragement. Whether on the court on not, you’ll be able to hear Nell’s words from the sidelines.
