About the Fellowship
Apothecare's fellowship programs focus on providing comprehensive knowledge from all aspects of a pharmacy's workflow. During this 2-year program, fellows are integrated into the company's management team and are encouraged to make meaningful and impactful business decisions. Apothecare offers two unique Fellowships, each with a focus in a particular functional area:
Pharmacy Operations & Medication Therapy Management (MTM)
Compounding
Fellows will also have the opportunity to gain teaching experience in an academic setting by teaching didactic and laboratory courses, and co-precepting students on experiential rotations. In conjunction with MCPHS University, Apothecare guides and supports fellows toward a successful career in pharmacy practice.
PHARMACY OPERATIONS & MEDICATION
THERAPY MANAGEMENT (2 YEARS)
As a part of the Operations team, the fellow will be immersed into the workflow on the pharmacy floor with opportunities to:
Develop and implement streamlined standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Maximize efficiency of Apothecare's dispensing technology by troubleshooting barriers and maintaining utilization Collaborate on strategic operational initiatives and improve current financial allocations throughout the pharmacy Source uncommon medications and products pursuant to customer needs
Gain exposure to promotional material review committees by collaborating with clinical, regulatory, and commercial personnel
The MTM component of the fellowship will provide the fellow with the opportunity to manage and operate our MTM program and utilize clinical knowledge to improve patient outcomes. The fellow will:
Perform comprehensive medication reviews
(CMR) for eligible patients
Manage continuous quality improvement (CQI) programs to effectively mitigate common quality related events (QRE)
Assist in organizing Apothecare's influenza and Covid vaccination clinics servicing over 1,000 patients
COMPOUNDING (2 YEARS)
Compounding fellows will be trained to specialize in the formulation and compounding of nonsterile medications and gain a thorough understanding of developing a compounding business model. Fellows will:
Develop skills and techniques in compounding non-sterile preparations
Maintain and revise current standard operating procedures in accordance with regulations
Optimize processes and inventory to ensure efficient and cost-effective medication delivery
Conduct research for formula selection and development

Candidates must:
Have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy at the commencement of the program
Be eligible for licensure in Massachusetts
Be authorized to work in the United States throughout the duration of the fellowship. No visa sponsorship will be provided.
Provide a letter of intent, a curriculum vitae, and three letters of reference.
Interviews
Candidates will be notified if selected for an interview and interviews will be conducted virtually.
Site Visits
Top candidates may be invited for a site visit at the company's location.
Final candidates will be required to go through additional screening and onboarding as required by MCPHS University.
