Take a look around -- is your desk a little cluttered? Is your department’s break room a mess? How long has it been since you actually saw the surface of your desk? It’s OK, it happens to the best of us. Take this opportunity to do a little spring cleaning and Recycle Your Workspace. You can even win some prizes for your effort. In the spirit of Earth Day, April 22, 2014, County, City, and CharlotteMecklenburg Schools are partnering to encourage employees to recycle their workspace April 7-11, 2014. If you submit a “before” and “after” photo of your workspace, or tell us how much stuff you recycled from the workspace, you will be entered into a drawing to win an Apple iPad donated by ReCommunity, vacation days, or other great prizes provided by prize sponsors Ikea, Big Belly Solar and ReCommunity. Team and individual entries will be accepted from 8 a.m., April7 through 5p.m. on April 11, 2014. Winners will be notified by phone or email and invited to the Uptown Earth Day event at Trade and Tryon on April 22, 2014 to receive their prize. Get ready to Recycle Your Workspace! Pick up a new copy of the 2014-2015 Wipe Out Waste Guide or visit wipeoutwaste.com for a list of items that can be recycled.
