Welcome New Employee!! Please join us in welcoming our newest staff member to the Community and Recreation Center Services Division. Rashida Bryant started on May 14 as a Recreation Specialist at Mallard Creek Recreation Center. She comes to us with a Master of Science degree from UNC – Greensboro in Recreation, Parks and Tourism and over 10 years of recreation experience with her last position as a Recreation Center Director for City of High Point Parks and Recreation Department. We are thrilled to get Rashida on board with this great background and professional experience.

Congratulations Graduates! On Saturday May 10th , Nick Roberts, Facility Manager at Sugaw Creek and Olema Edwards, Recreation Specialist at Arbor Glen Recreation Center, graduated with Master’s degrees in Parks, Recreation, Tourism, and Sports Management from North Carolina State University. The program provides a solid professional and business education design to advance their career development in parks and recreation. Nick and Olema gained an in-depth knowledge of the impacts of recreation and sport on active-healthy lifestyles and sustainable communities. They also became proficient in advanced principles and procedures of management and ethical leadership (e.g., administration, marketing, human resources, risk management, finance and budgeting) for the delivery of park and recreations services. The pair spent countless days and nights over the past two years stressed out over exams, reports, and presentations all the while balancing their academics and job responsibilities. They would also like to thank their coworkers and supervisors for all of their support and encouragement.
