The National Recreation and Park Association, Disney - ABC Television Group and ESPN are collaborating to revitalize parks across the U.S. for the second year, including a park right here in Mecklenburg County. Through Parks Build Community — an initiative that gives back to the places that shape so much of our lives — one of our local parks will receive a $20,000 grant and you get to choose which one. Throughout the entire month, you will have the opportunity to help one of three park projects and give them a chance to receive $20,000 in grant funding to make improvements. The projects are:
Urban Skate Park for Beginners at Grayson SkatePark Hoskins Park Outdoor Fitness Zone Bringing the Outdoors In (year-round garden program) You can vote daily through April 30 at NRPA.org/BeInspired. At the end of April, the park project with the most votes will receive grant funding. Last year’s winner was Druid Hills Community Garden
