A packed programme of appointments Matching is based on the arrangement of meetings between participants. Companies intending to participate in the event describe their business operations and needs, and the benefits of their products and services on the www.e-matching.it portal. These details are cross-referenced to produce a schedule of personalised meetings for each participant. Each company places its own offering and capacity at the disposal of the network and examines its own needs to determine which meetings are of greatest interest.
A business network Matching provides a unique opportunity for businessmen to select new suppliers, to get to know potential customers, to examine markets, to internationalise and to innovate. Within the cultural context of Italian industry, in which SMEs have always integrated and networked, Matching provides a chance to extend these networks and fine-tune them into a tool for combating the crisis. Matching offers a chance to meet international buyers and companies from 40 different countries.
Product sectors and large enterprises Because participants in Matching come from such a large number of different sectors, companies can benefit from a vast range of potential relations. The most significant areas of industry represented in 2009 were: construction and plant with 248 companies, agriculture and food with 229, services and training with 231, healthcare with 109 companies including 37 hospitals, textiles and clothing with 70 companies, transport and logistics with 52, energy, heating and environment with 97, and tourism, catering and wellbeing with 48. Major public bodies took part again this year. These included the event’s sponsor, the Lombardy regional council, as well as the councils of the Emilia Romagna, Sardinia and Veneto regions. These public bodies were complemented by large enterprises like ACEA , ACI Global, A2A, Alitalia, ATM, Bombardier, Busi Group, Camozzi Holding, CMB, Comau, Enel, Engineering, Farchioni Olii, Ferrovie Nord Milano, Ferrarini, Finmeccanica, Fondazione Meeting per l’amicizia fra i popoli, Hertz, Honeywell, Metropolitana Milanese, Microsoft, Obiettivo Lavoro, Poste Italiane, Primavera, Renault, Sorgenia, Total, 3 Italia and Unicredit Group.
