TPI ups capacity at Saraburi power plant (TPIPL), Thailand's third-largest cement maker, plans to spend 3 billion baht to double the capacity of its waste-to-energy power plant in Saraburi to 120 megawatts. Pakkapol Leoprirut, assistant vice-president for finance, said the company's waste-to-energy power plant had been producing 60 MW to serve the cement factory. All new output will also serve its factory. The company plans to start using the additional output in next year's fourth quarter, running at full capacity in the first half of 2016. Last year TPI raised its cogeneration power plant's capacity by 60 MW to 90 MW, with the additional output scheduled to come online next year. Its two-year investment budget of 20 billion baht ending this year has been used for expanding the cogeneration power plant, building materials such as roof tiles and fibre cement and the cement plant in Saraburi. The company also has a new foamed concrete block factory slated to finish in next year's second quarter. TPIPL shares closed Friday on the Stock Exchange of Thailand at 20.10 baht, up 40 satang, in heavy trade worth 1.11 billion baht.
