The Instructables | Educative Circulation.
20 20
Energy noun - power derived from the utilization of physical or chemical resources, especially to provide light and heat or to work machines. Performance noun - the capabilities of a machine, vehicle, or product, especially when observed under particular conditions.
This proposal for “The Instructables is dedicated to serve the environment and its user either passively or actively through its performance. The program will be focused on environmental education and biology, where the user will have the opportunity to experience the performance of sustainable systems, while learning about the way they are manufactured at the same time.
Collab. Samantha Herrick & Steven Lotter Prof. Samuel Maddox
This space will become a new hub for the Cambridge community, due to its sense of encouraging an explorative action and the amount of recreational spaces that is offered. The program is organized in enfilade, so the user experiences environmental systems through circulation either throughout the journey or its destination.

“Along the way we have found that the function is more impactful than the meaning”

“The art must reveal its true intentions to the observer. The building must do, rather than speak

“It must engulf the user and keep them evercurious

While doing this, the project absorbs as much of this “performative action as possible. As well as maintaining the constant upkeep that a public, everinclusive, educational space brings to the rapidly progressing city of Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Flexible Design for an Ever Changing Site
20 19
With a site that is greatly impacted by rising sea levels, yet confined by the expanding neighborhoods that surround I, Fort Point must look for more flexible options to expand and accommodate the needs of the city rather than being swallowed. “If form follows function, then the form must have the capability to be in constant change as human behavior and the environment around us is never constant. Collab. William Allen Prof. James P. Allen
Residents have the option to subtract or add shipping containers from their units depending on the environmental changes or their needs. These modifications allow a cheaper alternative to moving and promote a sense of stability in the community. This design offers opportunity to the community to receive an income by working in the designated spaces such as
vertical gardens, farmers market, the opportunity to start their own small business, or something as small as a common working studio. These offers the combination of living / working and develop community interaction.

Un Sistema Para Todos
El Sistema is an extraordinary cultural, educational and social program that pursues the goal of social engagement and youth empowerment through ensemble music education. Unlike other youth music programs, El Sistema’s mission is fundamentally social in nature: at its core is Abreu’s conviction that the experience of immersive. ambitious and joyful music-making together can help young people develop not only musical mastery but also self-steam.
20 19
Having “El Sistema” coming to Boston, we have to analyze the potential communities that are going to benefit by the mentioned program. In my studies, I focused on the marginalized communities, and children from low income families that come from the different neighborhood of Boston. Offering them safe access to the site and a more joyful path. 49

The Maison à Bordeaux is a private residence of three floors on a cape-like hill overlooking Bordeaux, France. The lower level is a series of caverns carved out from the hill, designed for the most intimate life of the family; the ground floor on

garden level is a glass room – half inside, half outside – for living; and the upper floor is divided into a children’s and a parents’ area. The heart of the house is a 3x3.5m elevator platform that moves freely between the three floors,
becoming part of the living space or kitchen or transforming itself into an intimate office space, and granting access to books, artwork, and the wine cellar.

Sited upon an outcrop of exposed granite, the building has been organized into a series of terraces that respond to its sloped topography, providing a barrier-free path that connects the elevated parking area with an existing lower level picnic zone. The terraces provide connections between interior and exterior programme areas, and are
sized and configured to accommodate multi-tasking of the facility for wide ranging user groups, and to promote extended seasonal use. The ‘entry terrace’ has been located southward to maximize solar aspect, and its flanking walls provide shelter from westerly winds. The ‘events terrace’ is located on the sheltered easterly side of the build-

ing and is provided with a deep overhang for inclement weather. The ‘teaching terrace’ serves as an outdoor amphitheatre for school group presentations. The vast soffit of the exhibition hall provides an outdoor sheltered space for hikers using the adjoining trail system.
